Clarify 2 days' use in home country

I live in UK. Am I correct in thinking that the 2 days’ use of a pass in your home country are unrestricted - i.e. they do not necessarily need to start or end at St Pancras International for example and that they are not connected to your ‘home’ address. Neither do they necessarily need to be at the start and end of the pass’ validity?

The reason I ask is because I live in Portsmouth but want to start my journey into Europe from Plymouth and complete the trip in Inverness. Both will be accomplished within the 2 day limit.

 Thanks in advance

That's completely fine. You can use your 2 days to travel to/from “the border, an airport or other port.”
