Train connections & reservations

Hi Me and my wife are planning to  travel  from Denmark to Sicily next May . We would like to go via Switzerland and take some of the nice trips there , regular trains.I would like if i can get some advice about  nigthtrains from Hamburg to Basel , trips to take in Switzerland and suggestions how to get from there to Sicily , ferry etc. And off course nice places to visit we have time enough. 

I bought a rail pass on October 21st 2026 to start planning the euro trip for July 2027. When are train times available to reserve? 

Has anyone noticed that Hungarian stations are missing at the moment Try Gyoer to Szolnok produces just one train.  also so smaller stations missing.

I am planning my trip, but most trains do not yet have schedules for my desired dates. How can I add the journeys and modify them once bookings open?

We travelling from Amsterdam to Salerno for the Christmas holidays, and while we were able to book the reservation for the night train until Zurich, we are not able to get the timetable for 20 december from Milan to Salerno.I see that on TrenItalia trains are already available, so I'm afraid we won't find much availability. Do you know what could be the issue here and any solution?Thank you in advance for anyone's help!

Hello all!SNCF opened its sale for the end of year period (Dec 13 onwards) today but I can’t find any train here when looking at booking a seat. Any idea when this will be available?Many thanks!

And that’s where the adventure came to a rather abrupt halt.The timetable appears to run only until around 9 December 2026. My trip is planned for 13–20 December, so anything after the timetable change is effectively a blank page: no trains to book, no reservations to make and no certainty about the journey.In practical terms, I could end up having to wait until just days before departure before I can confirm everything. We booked 4 reservations on a Eurostar service from Cologne to Brussels on 2 August 2026. This service was cancelled but we have not received the reservation fee refund. I raised a Delay Compensation Request ticket on 27 August having failed to get a response to emails. I have not heard anything from Interrail since an acknowledgement that the response would take longer on 31 August. The ticket is #1536752

I want to book 2 reserved seats on the 11:50 am trainOR 1661 on 9 October from Bucharest to Iasi in Romania. I have been unable to book these seats on either the app or the DB website. I must travel on this day to meet up with a tour group. I am currently in Poland and cannot visit a Romanian train station.can anyone out there offer me advice please? 

Hi, I booked a reservation for a train and I was wondering whether or not I need to add this reservation to my trip in the App? Is there a way to do that? Or is it enough if I just add that journey to the App ? Thanks a lot! Milli

I need 10 minutes transfer time between trains and the filter doesn’t seem to show on my phone although it works on the website.  The trains I’m booking for don’t need reservations so if I get. a later train at connection will my ticket still be valid?

Last year, I found that Eurostar reservations were no longer available for my desired dates.Now I’m in a dilemma:I don’t want that to happen again, so I’d like to book the reservations as soon as possible.At the same time, though, I’d prefer to wait for any Interrail promo — but I’d like to secure my Eurostar reservations now for late April 2027 (yes, I know it’s far away...)These reservations are already available on b-europe (but I don’t have an Interrail pass yet, so I can’t proceed).My question is:Is it certain that these reservations on b-europe are valid?The train connection itself for end of April is already bookable on Eurostar.   

I’m not able to add my journey to my pass.I guess it's because I don't want to buy a Reservation. I already have one. 

’m planning to travel through the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and other nearby countries starting December 13, 2026. I’d like to make seat reservations for the trains on my itinerary as soon as possible, but I keep receiving a message indicating that no trains are available.Could you please let me know when seat reservations will open for the trains I’m planning to take? I’d also appreciate any information about how far in advance reservations can typically be made for these routes.

Dear community. I want to book a train from Lyon to Barcelona - Global Plus Pass Beta active (works for trains in France, Germany, etc.)  For the AVE Connections in Spain i cant choose a reservation Via Renfe, the train is still bookable, so its not booked out:  looking for advise how to proceed.  Thanks! I searched for this and really didn’t find an answer.I hope I can explain this right. I leave next week for a month trip in Europe and I have everything saved in the Rail Planner app. Have not activated my pass yet but all the trains that needed reservations I have booked and paid for. I accidentally deleted one of those trips. The first leg of the journey is the one that required the reservation. Is there a way for me to recover this? I have 2 more transfers before I get to my final destination with no idea what time I have to catch the train or for that matter what stations I will transfer at. I tried to go back in to “rebook” the journey so I could see the rest of it but it’s not even there to look at anymore. Is there anything I can do? Thanks for your help with this. 

I’m traveling in France and Belgium on October 3rd and 4th! I am not able to buy any tickets! I was looking at Paris to Brussels on Oct 3. I was looking at Bruges to Amsterdam Oct 4. i’ve been looking since the beginning of june and it has said the same message every time. no seats available at this time. I’m wondering why this is. I asked the eurrail customer service team and they said check back in a week. it’s been about a month now and i’m very curious. Thank you to anyone who can help!

Hi community, We are travelling Florence to Rome and have seat reservations for 29/9 (booked through Eurail) but want to change the trip to the next day. Is it possible to change the date of seat reservations, or do we just have to buy new ones? I can’t seem to find this out on the Trenitalia site! Ta, Maria 

Anyone has suggestion for the best comfort route from Amsterdam to Bologna italy ? I also noticed a “bug” related to night trains in the trip planner from the App, when selecting night train option in the planner nothing shows if your itinerary has multiple legs and only one is with night trains . Seeing no options I booked for now daytime I am going via Munich, trying also chuchuu.com to verify train reliability as after one booking a timetable was different from the journey in the German train DB website and schedules!please provide options for my comeback from Bologna to Amsterdam, probably a night train would be better for me! tomorrow going viaAmsterdam → Duisburg HBf (ICE) → Munich HBf (RJ)→ Bologna centrale   

I am writing to inquire about the seat reservation rules and validity of the Eurail France One Country Pass for cross-border TGV Lyria routes.Specifically, I am planning to travel from Basel (Basel SBB / Bâle SNCF) to Paris (Paris Gare de Lyon) on a direct TGV Lyria train. I checked the Rail Planner App, which indicates that the France One Country Pass is valid and supports seat reservations for the TGV Lyria segment from Basel to Mulhouse. Since the direct train from Basel to Paris travels through Mulhouse anyway, does this mean the pass fully covers the entire direct journey to Paris?Furthermore, I would like to know if this same logic applies to the TGV Lyria route between Paris and Geneva. As Geneva is also a border station, can I use the France One Country Pass to book a direct train (TGV Lyria) from Paris to Geneva?Thank you for your time and clarification. 

hello everyone, I won the interrail ticket via Discover EU and I began booking my trains. One journey goes from Paris to Valencia. Accidentally I booked the journey for the wrong date. I want to travel one day earlier. I also used two of my four credits to book the seat reservations.  I’ve been researching on how to change the seat reservations but I couldn’t find any results so I wanted to ask wether someone knows how to change the date.  thanks for your help! 

Hi there,Does anyone know what days does the Leo express train operates from Poland/ Bohumín to Frankfurt Süd. I think the website states everyday. I am hoping to travel on the 31st of August from Krakow. This train existed on the Leo express website and then a few days ago it just disappeared. It is still listed on the SBB app. Also, does anyone know if it is possible to make an Interrail reservation in the couchette sleep cabin please? It does not work on the Leo express website when you apply the Interrail discount. It comes up as unavailable/ soldout. Would really appreciate someone's help. ​@rvdborgt ​@Sebastian Vetter
