Hello from the railway cathedral, Antwerpen-Centraal. 👋 Our Product & Network Specialist Hugo is on the first ICE out of Antwerp today.This new direct ICE service will connect Antwerp and Cologne twice a day, calling at Brussels Airport, Leuven, Liège and Aachen.
Our network is growing! Starting today, RDC joins us as a new carrier in our network, taking over the EuroNight service between Berlin (via Hamburg) and Stockholm. 🚆🌙 For Pass holders, nothing changes with the route and train remaining valid in our network. The night train runs two to three times a week and offers travellers an overnight journey without changing trains. Check, here, for reservations
Would you like to be one of the first travellers to try the new version of our Interrail app? We’re selecting 15 travellers to become Interrail App Pioneers and take part in a beta test for our new version. During your trip, you’ll use the new version of the app and share your honest feedback with our research team. Your experience will help us understand what works well and what we can improve before the app is released widely. What’s in it for you? After you complete your trip and the beta test, we’ll reimburse the cost of your Interrail Pass. You can apply if: Your Interrail Pass has not yet been activated. You plan on travelling with your Pass between 14 September and 20 October 2026. Please note that the beta app, test instructions and communication will be available in English only. We’ll contact you by 11 August to let you know whether you have been selected. We’d love to have you on board and improve the new Interrail app together. Sign up to become an App Pioneer
Irish Rail InterCity reservations are now available through our reservation system, making it easier to plan your journey across Ireland. Pass holders can now reserve seats on Irish Rail InterCity services in both 1st and 2nd class. Please note that Irish Rail services operate in the Republic of Ireland, and reservations are not currently available for services in Northern Ireland. There are plenty good stops on this route. From Dublin, head south to Cork and walk through the English Market, where you’ll find local cheeses, seafood, and Irish favourites like Irish stew and soda bread. Travel west to Galway for colourful streets, traditional music, and fresh seafood around the market and Latin Quarter. Or make a stop in Limerick to explore the Milk Market and taste some local produce before continuing your journey. For 2nd class, reservations cost €2 across all fare types. 1st class reservations range from €12 to €20, depending on the route and time of travel. Irish Rail InterCity train

July has brought some exciting rail news across Europe, with new international connections, seasonal seaside services and even more ways to travel with your Pass. Here's what's new this month. A new direct train line to FrankfurtGetting between Germany and Czechia just got even easier. Leo Express has launched a new direct service connecting Frankfurt, Prague and Bohumín, creating a convenient new rail link across Central Europe. Along the route, trains stop in Leipzig, Dresden and Ostrava. Since 12 July, Weimar, Erfurt and Eisenach have also been added as stops, giving you even more opportunities to discover Germany and Czechia by rail. And there's more to come—the route is planned to be extended to Kraków and Przemyśl in the future, opening up even more direct travel options across the region. Since our last big update at the beginning of the year, there have been a number of exciting improvements and additions to rail travel across Europe. Read our roundup👇 January — new links and restored services In Slovenia, passenger services resumed on the Nova Gorica–Ajdovščina line, restoring a regional connection through the Vipava Valley as part of the wider Nova Gorica–Ajdovščina–Sežana route. In Poland, Koleje Śląskie joined the Interrail network. This expanded Interrail coverage across the Silesia region, improving regional travel around Katowice and towards the Czech and Slovak borders. In the UK, the Caledonian Sleeper added a stop in Birmingham from 15 January, creating a direct overnight link between the Midlands and destinations in the Scottish Highlands, including Inverness, Fort William, and Aberdeen. As the final trains of the year roll toward their destinations, all of us at Interrail can’t help but look back on the times that made this year on the rails feel so special. A few of our favourite memories: celebrating a birthday on the tracks somewhere between Switzerland and Italy, sharing a takeout dinner on a high-speed train after an exhilarating day exploring Pompeii, and drifting through the night in a vintage sleeping car from Bucharest to northern Romania, surrounded by warm wooden interiors and a soft sense of nostalgia. These are the kinds of experiences that make travelling with the Pass feel unlike anything else — meeting new people across the train car aisle, exchanging stories with the conductor, warming your hands around a cup of coffee while small towns flicker by. As the year winds down, we’re gearing up for one of our most eagerly awaited moments: the 2026 timetable update.
