Lonely Planet called their community The Thorn Tree, after notes that travellers used to leave for each other on the branches of a Naivasha thorn tree in a hotel in Nairobi.

Thats’s what just popped up in my mind. Have fun with getting many ideas.

A lot of the good ones are gone with all the YouTubers and/or Kraftwerk lyrics.  I’ll have to get my thinking cap on.

As in, it’s more than just a ticket from A to B, it’s A to Europe . . . at which point Europe Endless by Kraftwerk plays in my head.

Can five strangers from five European countries become a real friend group in four weeks?

I don't think we're meant to have hundreds of online contacts and still feel like we have nobody to call when life gets difficult.

I want to build a small group of people from different European countries who actually become close friends.

We would travel, play, learn, volunteer, help each other with real-life problems and eventually meet and possibly live together.

But I don't know whether a group of strangers can actually become something like that.

So I'm testing it.

Four weeks. A few Europeans. No membership fee. No long-term commitment. Just meet, talk, do things together and see what happens.

If it works, we'll build further.
