Thanks to comments from @mcadv and others in this forum, as otherwise I wouldn't have known that this connection (regional Renfe Feve) even exists.Used our Passes last Friday on the 71872 13:31 Bilbao-Santander service. We had the time and continuous Passes so why not…Times given on https://www.renfe.com/es/en/suburban/cercanias-feve/timetables were accurate. On the Renfe home page planner https://www.renfe.com/es/en the train came up but with incorrect times (30 minutes out for some reason).Couldn't find the train in any planner apps.Departing from Bilbao La Concordia, next to Bilbao Abando but a separate building. A nice peaceful station. Showed our active Passes at the ticket counter and they gave us tickets to use to get through the closed gates. I'd asked the day before just to make sure and the staff confirmed both times this is how they do it.Views were better than we'd been anticipating, nice suprises pretty much all the way.Conductor was happy enough seeing the printed tickets
Hi! I’m going for a work trip to Grenoble area in France. I’m adding an extra week to slowly travel back to Utrecht and stop at some different places. Does anyone have some tips or favorite places? Looking to travel back either through in France/ Belgium or Switzerland/Germany.
Going to be going from London to Bari in mid May.I did the route last year and wentLondon - Brussels - Frankfurt - Munich (overnight) - Padua - Pescara (overnight) - 3am train to Bari so as to catch midday boat to Greece.and on the way back,Bari - Rimini (overnight) - Milan - Zurich (overnight) - Frankfurt - Brussels - London. Does anyone have any thoughts on alternative attractive route with a couple of stops? The only bits I found a bit tedious last year were the Brussels to Cologne bits due to the overcrowding and potential cancellations of that train.
Hi everyone !i would like to go from italy to island taking ferrys etc and i would like to know if anybody did already and can suggest me the best trip to do do you have idea?thank you guys!federica
Hi all,Since I'm new here, let me first say that I'm so excited that I booked my first interrail pass. I also want to share with you my passion for traveling and especially train traveling. My question is what city you would suggest to visit for a short stopover in Switzerland (Christmas period) and what's the best itinerary to choose to benefit the most? A friend suggested taking a Swiss train from cologne which has a glass roof and goes along the Rhine???Any ideas , suggestions are welcomed. My interrail pass is just for 4 days and I will start from Brussels. Thanks in advance See you in the train!Spyros
Hi… I’m planning a 15 day continuous EURAIL trip in November and I’m doing the planning stages now (February!)The image shows my itinerary (from England) and it seems to make sense to me. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas that can help me improve or adjust it, I would be grateful. This trip is a ‘practice trip’ and a few months later I’ll try a longer one, probably to Greece and Italy. But this is my (flexible) plan for this November. :)Thanks for looking!
Hey, Im searching for a night train from Paris to PortBou, (preferably the 26th of June, but some dates before or after, would be alright aswell). The Interrail website says, that the train should go daily in the summer. But the App doesnt show this route at all (or at least not with night trains). I even tried dates in August, but it didn't help. Does somebody know, if the train still exist? Or maybe another train in the direction (preferably by night)? (I need to get to Valencia) Thanks
Hello, I wish to travel via Eurail Global Pass to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from Poland. I saw on the Eurail website map that there are stations in Vilnius, Riga, and Estonia, but I cannot select these countries from the mobile app. Is it possible to train within these countries using my pass? Or not? Thank you so much for your help.
Hello!I will be travelling as follows in May: Frankfurt → Berlin → Amsterdam → Paris → London.I am looking to buy a 5 or 7 day Eurail pass, but I don’t understand if I can use this pass to get from Frankfurt to Berlin. I keep seeing that I need to take the ICE train, but I don’t know if this is a separate pass?Thank you in advance.
Hi! We just wanted some opinions on our timetable. We are staying with friends in Amsterdam, so plan to stay there longer to save on accommodation. Just wondering whether you guys think we should swap places out or stay at places for a long or shorter amount of time?
I want to finish my Interail journey by getting to the Croatian coast possibly around either Split or PulaI will be doing some of the swiss scenic routes and thinking I should finish in Tirano at some point via the Bernina Express - do you know iof the best route from Tirano to Croatia? Hi there, first time traveller here.Travelling around Europe with me two young children in Summer 2023.Just trying to get my head around how it all works! We arrive in Cherbourg Port in June and would like to spend a few days with easy access to Mont St Michel. I went to the SNCF website and typed Cherbourg to Mont St Michel, thinking it would give me routes and options to get there.I quickly worked out it's not that easy lol!I think input the next nearest biggest station Caen, and found a train that actually stops in Lison , which according to the rail map would be the place to change.Hiwever I can’t find any trains going out of LisonI tried Lison to St Malo, nothing's there an easier way to work out my routes? Many Thanks :-) Sinead
The timetable for Istanbul to Bucharest on the Interrail site shows the trip at over 2 days. When I looked last week, train was leaving Istanbul at 20.45 and with changes was due to arrive next day at 17.00. On the DB site, this train is still running but on the Interrail it's not. Can anyone advise? Is there a link to Turkish railway's timetable. Many thanks.
Hi all,I plan to activate my 3 month global pass on May 1st. I am based in the UK. Am I right in thinking I wont be able to use the global pass until I am in another country. I plan on starting my trip in Belgium so assume I would have to the eurostar or search for cheap flights closer to the time? On that note, does anybody have any tips on route planning. I have several places that I want to visit but struggling to work out the best possible route. Is there some sort of route planner available that will do this for me automatically? Thanks in advance
If I were to purchase the train pass would I be able to stay in a small town outside a major city and use the pass to train in an out of the city each day ? for example if I were to stay in Ostia Italy would there be a train to take me into Rome with out extra fees ?
Hello. We are nubes to European travel. We are arriving in London, traveling to Paris, Disneyland Paris, Flying out of Paris to Barcelona, and then home. Curious about airport transfers to and from hotels. Are any of these covered by the Eurail pass? Or maybe the better question is, are there better ways? Main concerns…Heathrow to hotel in London (Westminster) -London to ParisParis to Disneyland ParisDisneyland Paris to Charles de Gaulle airportBarcelona Airport to hotel (City Center) and back to airport Thanks for any insight from the well traveled here!
Hello, or should I say guten tag? 😁 I am busy making planning ideas for 2 months in Europe. I really want to see some places in Germany and have had ideas about basing myself in one place and travelling by day to surrounding cities and towns. So I thought that maybe Hamburg would be a good base for maybe a week and to take day trips to the likes of Lubeck, Bremen and Oldenburg. For a long time now I have been fascinated with the history of merchant cities in medieval Europe, so Lubeck is a must. Hamburg is probably a similar experience.Using the app I can see that travelling from Hamburg to these places is so fast because of Germany’s high speed links. I just want to be sure that I can make the most of these places with a day trip so was looking for ideas from people that know. I will continue to do watching and reading online but I thought asking the experienced here would also be a good idea. I suspect this would make booking accomodation so much easier than having to find hotels etc
I am travelling from Lucerne to Paris in late august and it requires for me to book seat reservations. However when I try to book them like I have my other reservations, it gives me no option to add to my cart. Please help! My pass is connected through the app and I have had no other issues with booking others that are essential to have.
HelloI have a Global Pass valid for 2 months.I just read on the website something that I don’t quite understand.I wanted to activate the pass next week and I thought I could later add as many trips/connections, new places to visit afterwards depending on where I’ll be and where I want to go next.Is that possible or is it mandatory to add all the travel details from the beginning before the activation of the Pass?Thank you for your help
Hello, I’m prospecting for a travel in Europe but I am indecisive ! On the one hand, I wanted to visit Austria/Hungary and Slovakia because it is easy to make a reservation by train (pass) and that I want for a long time to go back to Austria and visit Hungary, and moreover because I want to see beautiful lakes. But I’m scared it is dangerous in some eastern cities and I prefer tovisit smaller typical cities, and on the second hand, I also want to visit Germany on a larger scale than I did ( I went to Mannheim and Heidelberg) and I also want to visit Netherlands/ Belgium ( Brussels) and if possible one or many cities in Germany ( so sadly, Berlin is too far from me ):What do you think about it ? What should I do in priority ? Thank you in advance
We have global 1st class passes. Will travel Naples-Florence April 8th. Appreciate advice ( cost and duration aside) on pleasantness or other notable advantages of choosing either:Intercity 590 Train to Florence Rifredi ( slower approx 3 hrs but cheaper seat resevations)VsFrecciarissa 9532 Train to Florence SMN ( quicker approx 5 hrs but dearer seat reservations) We are aware there is an option to avoid seat reservations altogether but it's a bit too slow approx 7 hrs but are happy to pay to keep the duration down. Thanks in advance from anyone familiar with these trains/ options. Cheers
I’ve read a few older posts about this but thought I would get an updated view from those in the know. I wish to travel from Budapest to Istanbul but there is not route found for this trip. However, I can travel from Budapest to Sofia and then Sofia to Istanbul with changes which I am happy to do if that’s the only way.I believe there might be sleepers between Budapest and Istanbul when I travel (it would be about 7th June), but cannot find much information about them. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction, please? Many thanks.
Hi thereHow do I find out how long it will take to get from Santorini to Rome?
Hello guys, I am currently on my interrail trip in Italy and planning to go to Greece, but we all know of the terrible train accident that happened there a couple of days ago, and the railway strikes that followed afterwards. Now I'm doubting if it's smart to go to Greece at all. I can't find much about it on Internet. Is it sensible to go there with Interrail? What are the chances of a new strike (or even a new accident?)? Is it even possible to travel from Athens to the north again by train? Thanks in advance!
