 Hi we’re first time interailers and it’s been recommended to us that we travel to Salerno from Naples Airport rather than Sorrento as the train networks are much better. We’re just wondering if this is the best idea and the best way of transport getting from Naples Airport to Salerno.If we do stay in Salerno and decide to go to Pompeii one day by train how would we know if our interail pass covers this journey or would we have to pay separately from the pass? 

Hello all! Please excuse my total lack of knowledge here. I’m a first time inter-railer trying to sort out a map for my first little adventure. I thought it would be an amazing way to spend the summer just after I graduate. I have a route in mind, but I’m really not sure if it works at all. I’ve been trying to look at what trains fall under the interrail, but sometimes it can get a bit confusing, especially around Spain and France, but this is the proposed route I’ve come up with for my first experience. So we’d be starting in Dublin, as that’s where I’m from, and flying in to Madrid to start this journey.Madrid → BarcelonaBarcelona → Milan (I'm not sure if you can get a direct train; I’d imagine you need to stop off at Marseille or Nice.)Milan → VeniceVenice → FlorenceFlorence → BolognaBologna → Milan (using this as a bridge to get to Munich)Milan → MunichMunich → PraguePrague → BerlinBerlin → Amsterdam(I assume again we’d need to get a transfer from Cologne or something close to it.)

Hi everyone,I am seeking advice for those who have travelled within Italy and what best route to take. I have already visited Milan and Venice so I don’t want to include them in. I researched and came up with Florence to start (fly in) 1 night - Pisa 1 night  - Rome 3 nights - Naples 3 nights - Bari 2 nights then Leece 2 nights. However I feel that I am not covering much of Italy. Also I don’t want to miss out any any hidden towns and villages that offer a true sight of Italy rather than the touristy side. Any suggestions on routes and whether I have or don’t have enough nights in each city?I really appreciate your timeH x

Brand new to this so hold fire if i am in the wrong placeMy wife and I are looking to do a 3 week trip round Europe in the summer using Interail and it will be our first.We have used trains successfully in Italy but never across different countries. I have got a route so far but i am trying to get from Milan to Monaco or Marseille but every option I am given seems to be taking miles out of the way, mostly via Paris.Can any point me in the right direction (literally) of offer some adviceMany thanksSteve

Sorry if this seems obvious. I understand you have to pre book tickets and reserve seats on some high speed trains but do you have to obtain tickets form local stations for other journeys using your pass.Thanks

My wife are retired and In our 60’s we’re traveling from Ireland via UK, south of Spain and South of France staying with friends, down Italy to Sicily by train in April/May. Any advice about the best route, overnight stops would be appreciated including must see places to stop and stay. We’re planning on buying Interrail passes. We’re returning from southern Italy to the north and into Switzerland then Paris UK and back. We especially would appreciate help on places to visit and stay in southern Italy e.g. Puglia etc.Thanks David & Eileen 

Hi all,New to this website, so sorry if this is not the right place for this.Myself and my partner are currently at beginning stages of planning an interrailing trip for June 2023. We’ll be in Barcelona at the start of the month - but ideally some of the other countries we’d like to visit are Croatia, Austria and Switzerland. Our rough plan at the moment is to fly from Barcelona to Budapest. Then take trains from Budapest to Split, then back up to Zagreb - onto Vienna and then Zurich. We are thinking of purchasing the 5 Day in 1 Month pass - hoping that this will cover us. We are just looking for general advice really. Does this route seem doable to people? Have people done anything similar? We are cautions that this will involve a lot of night trains - are these harder to reserve? Any tips or suggestions would be great :)

Hi, I am planning a family trip this summer and looking for some early advice. We are trying to do a little initially planning on what is possible but we keep getting stuck with how to get to and from Istanbul. All the information says there is a overnight train between Sofia and Istanbul but it’s does show up in any planners for summer 2023. Could it be I am looking to plan to early or is this route no longer available? Thanks in advance from a noobie

Hi!I from London, UK and am about to buy my interrailing ticket to travel around for 2/3 months around July/August time, before coming back to England and finishing my degree.I am writing this, simply, to ask for recommendations around Europe! I know it seems quite odd that I don’t have a set idea in mind where I would like to travel, but I am keen to simply explore parts of my mind and the world that I haven’t seen before.If anyone has any advice regarding sights to see, or things to do (preferably on the cheaper size), then that would be much appreciated!I am living in the UK, so I would have to board to Eurostar to either Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam (I think Paris will be my first stop), and would preferably like to go in a circle around Europe prior to coming back home.I have done research regarding train reservations and other, sort of, admin based things. Hi there!  Please can you help me...  I need to take a train from Rotterdam to Paris tomorrow, 2 Jan 2022. I have a Eurail global pass but on the app and website it shows that the trains are not able to be booked.  Has this happened to anyone before? I will be going to Rotterdam today and I can go and speak to them at the station (if this is possible - who should I go speak to?)  Or does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this trip.....  Thank you so much! 

I’m thinking of staying in Milan for 2 nights and want to take a day trip to Lake Como.Should I spend longer than 1 day in Como Are there trains/busses to get to Como, if so how do I book etc

If you have been to Innsbruck how long would you recommend staying for and what would you suggest doing? I like to travel as cheap as possible so preferably things that are free! Are there any walking routes that I could do alone which only take a few hours? Thanks 

Although not new info, just a reminder that the Spanish government has extended its free travel (subject to buying a pass, refundable if used regularly) on Local and regional (MD/Avant) trains for the whole of 2023. In 2022 these were available to tourists, and I haven’t seen anything different yet. There is also a 50% pass available for Avant/AVE services, but I think I heard this is off the full price so early booking fares may still be cheaper if you PAYG, not using a pass.So anybody planning trips to Spain may find local and MD trains crowded. Also this may change the way you travel with a Global pass, since the Barcelona to Port Bou train is included in the scheme and Barcelona has many Rodalies services and I expect MD trains as well.Info on the 2023 offers is still sparse, but the details of the 2022 scheme is available via the Renfe Cercanias app. They are called Abonos Gratuitos.In 2022 you simply needed to register with Renfe and buy the pass, either in advance or at a statio

Hello,I search for a train journey from Bucharest to Sofia. But I can't find any stations in Bulgaria, except a few cities across the border. A few months ago it was different, there I could find stations in Bulgaria and I could search for the route from Bucharest to Sofia.Is this an error?

J'ai déjà utilisé interrail pour un voyage il y a quelques années, c'est donc tout naturellement que j'ai pensé le réutiliser pour ce voyage.  Cependant, nous ne souhaitons pas prendre plus d'une semaine pour aller jusqu'en Grèce, existe-t-il un pass qui nous permettrait d'aller en Grèce en 3 jours de voyage ? Hi we’re first time interailers looking for some advise and help! Me and my friend plan on travelling from March-May visiting Sorrento-Rome-Florence-Venice-Vienna-Budapest- Ljubljana-Zagreb- split. If anyone can help answer the questions below it would be super helpful.   When travelling from Slovenia to Zagreb(Croatia) as it’s not in the Schengen area will we experience any issues?  Is it best to book reservations on the actual train website rather than the interail website? We plan on travelling on an overnight train from Venice to Vienna does that class as two seperate travel days? When is best to active our pass and add our travel days

Hi,  ich habe mir den Interrail Pass gekauft um nach Paris zu reisen. Nun habe ich gesehen, das es eine Möglichkeit für verschiedene Partner Angebote einlösen kann. Leider verstehe ich nicht wie ich diese nutzen kann (.besonders Hotel Buchungen und Rad Mieten), da ich nirgends angeben kann, das ich so ein Pass besitze. Gibt es hierbei schon Erfahrungen. GrüßeMichi :) Hi,   I bought the Interrail Pass to travel to Paris.   Now I have seen that it can redeem an opportunity for different partner offers. Unfortunately I don't understand how I can use it (especially hotel bookings and bike rentals) because I can't say anywhere that I have such a passport.   Is there any experience with this? Greetings Michi :)

My group of friends and I will be travelling Europe for around 22 days before the start of school and I was wondering if I should get the Eurail Global pass AND Swiss travel pass OR just the Eurail one. A rough schedule would be:5 days in Switzerland (Bern, Lucerne, Interlaken, Zurich) 4 days in Paris 5 days in Belgium  4 days in LondonSince we are students, we thought that the offers/benefits from Swiss travel pass would help us save costs greatly since we might be taking the mountain excursions and whatnot. But I am still in a dilemma of whether to spend SGD 238 (approx 166 euros) for 3 days on the Swiss pass… Help is much needed, thank you!

Hi, I'm looking for some help on what I should do before traveling. I'm looking to travel for 3 months around Europe but dont know how to plan my trip, should I book all the trains and accommodations before leaving or should I do it on the go? Should I get a mobile pass or paper pass ? 

Hi all, I am about to purchase a global pass traveling from London, I would very much like to spend 3 days travelling the scenic snow covered routes in Switzerland during January 2023, does anyone have any recommended routes, many thanks in advance and A Merry Christmas To Everyone      

I'm not looking for tiny, out-of-the-way stations. No, I was just trying to find out a basic route in Eastern Europe. Details can come later. To my surprise (well, astonishment!) big city names, even capitals are not recognised on the eurail website. Dubrovnik, Sofia, Pristina, they are simply not to be found. How on earth then can I design a basic route if these big cities aren't included? Anyone who can explain this?

We have a rough itinerary round now:4 nights in Hamburg (that long because we celebrate NYE there)1 night in Poznan3 nights in Warszawa 2 nights in Łódź2 nights in Krakow2 nights in Brno2 nights in Prague 2 nights in Dresden Would you say from experience that some cities need more or some need less time? And do you have any tips for nice restaurants/bars/museums/clubs for any of the cities mentioned? Thanks!
