So we are new to Eurail, travelling with husband and 3 teenagers. Is it best to all be on one device?Also how do I start booking?Stockholm to Oslo, then Oslo to bergen, via Flam. We have 1st class tickets so would love to utilise these. Then Copenhagen to Vojens.Then onto Berlin. That’s enough for now, just want to get started booking.So do not activate till day of travel? It’s a 15 day pass. And if passes are on different devices, how do we book together?

Hi there!I’m wondering if anyone had experience traveling to Istanbul in the low season? I booked the 19:10 night train from Budapest to Bucharest. So far so good. But it’s at Bucharest where the adventure really starts. I heard reports of lines being repaired and whatnot and the ticket office in Budapest just flat out said „go to Bucharest“ - so here we are. What are my options once I arrive in Bucharest? It seems that the train will miss the connecting train to Dimitrovgrad/Sofia by an hour according to the schedule, and I don’t see any other way by rail to get to Istanbul Halkali.  so what does the community say? The low season seems to have other schedules and there is no direct train to Istanbul. Shall I take a detour to Sofia by train and arrive late in the evening and continue the next day there or should I stay overnight in Bucharest to get the connecting train the next day?

Just starting research for a few days in the South of France, and would like to get as close to some of the smaller old towns by rail.  Is there a site where I can access a list (or legible map) of rail stations throughout the region?

Hi, so I’m starting to plan my first interrail with my friends and we were thinking about following the “top 10 cheapest cities in Europe” (10 Cheapest Cities in Europe | Interrail.eu) between 4th and 18th of june. However, I started to read some topics here in the comunity and from what I understand flixbus is not included in the interrail pass and there isn’t a lot of trains in this route, is that right?From what I have been reading and searching it’s an easy route untill Budapest, but after that there isn’t a lot of trains. Could you guys suggest other countries to visit? I already went to France, Italy and Belgium so I would like to meet other places. Thank you in advance. 

Hi there! Can you please help me... I purchased a Eurail for my Euro trip next week. I land in Paris and then need to get to Leuven, Belgium. However, I see that CDG is not part of the Eurail pass? If this is the case and I need to use my pass from the city centre, I see that I need to reserve a ticket (and pay) to get to Brussels. However, what happens if my flight is delayed and I miss the train that I have reserved?Thanks! 

How can i travel from dublin to london?? It is possible? 

I’m wanting to travel Spain but where I want to go using the interrail app it says there is no route (I’m on the ‘no reservations needed’ option- as I don’t want to pay extra for reservations). Are there alternative options for travelling Spain which I can go between, like in country trains or flix bus (these don’t seem to take the route I’d like either). Ideally I’d like to do Malaga- Seville- Madrid- Valencia- Barcelona (any suggested stops in between these I’d be happy to do too) Thanks :)

Hi,Complete newbie but love travelling by rail within the UK and have partially used rail in Hungary and soon the Netherlands (next week). As opposed to a package holiday as a lone parent I am looking into potentially travelling Europe using a 10 day pass starting in London. Any suggestions of a family friendly route was thinking possibly towards Germany and Eastern/central Europe. Loved Hungary! How do reservations work. for instance I assume I would get the Eurostar initially to either France, the Netherlands, or Belgium. Does the Eurostar require a reservations? Will mainland Europe trips require a reservation? I could potentially start and end from low air fare places such as Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Budapest too. Sorry so many questions, Thank you!

Hi all,I thought I’d share my prospective interrail plan to get a better understanding of everything, as it is my first time travelling and I hope that I can get some advice or recommendations on the regions and cities I am visiting. (for context, I am 22 years old, travelling with another person, want to use hostels and trains as much as possible and lastly I have the 2 month global pass)I start at Edinburgh, then to London for the Eurostar to Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, Varna, Sofia, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar, Split, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Munich, then the Golden Pass in Switzerland. I may want to go further but that depends on money etc.I’d like as much advice and opinion on these areas as possible - it keeps my wanderlust fuelled during the dark cold months of the Scottish winter.Thanks! 😁 

Hey all!  In the beginning of January I am going on my first interrail trip together with a friend. We have a month pass with unlimited travel days, but only managed to get days off for two weeks.  We notice we want too much for the time we have and would love to have some suggestions/opinions on places we could skip or places we should see instead. Also we don't know yet how we could round off our trip back to Rotterdam from Prague. We now picked Leipzig and then ?Also, are there any places we could better visit in a different order because there are better (night)connections?  Thanks a lot!  

HiiI will interrail in 2023 in UK and Ireland. I would have time for two months but I don’t know if it’s worth spending the whole two months there? I have no planned route and however I’d like to hike some days in the scottish highlands. Would you recommend buying the one or two months pass? Or have some must-sees in the region? Thanks for the help!

Hi, I have a few questions on train links in the Balkans that information online continues to give me contradicting advice so I will list all of my questions here to try and sort it outIs there a functioning direct night train from Budapest to Bucharest - some sites say yes and other say no Is there a functioning direct train from Bucharest to Sofia - if not, what is advised to do in order to reach Sofia Is there a route from Sofia to Thessaloniki (for context I am travelling in Summer) Is there a train line connecting Serbia and Bosnia Should I generally just skip Serbia and Bosnia as they are too cumbersome to travel with train? If in Sofia, what is the best way to reach Croatia?Thanks!

I live in Wales and the first trip on my journey is Scotland, after that im going to europe then returning. I’m confused if Great Britain includes ireland, scotland wales and England- does anyone know if the home country rules apply to all of GB?

I've seen some information on a direct train, but I have also seen information saying that the line no longer runs.Is it possible? And if so, how do I go about getting to Belgrade. Thanks!

Hello!I am studying in Valencia this year and over winter break I am meeting my friend from back home in Amsterdam. I need to show up on the 21st of December and I get out of school on the 16th. I want to get there on regional, no reservation trains only because I already spent the money on the pass and I don’t mind if it takes a few days. On budget and on principle, I am not spending another 70 euros on the very first leg of my journey.The problem is, when I look up Valencia - Amsterdam on the Eurail planner with the no reservation filter, it shows me absolutely nothing no matter what dates and times I put in. What I’m wondering is if there’s ANY better way to figure out how to get from one place to the other than just going to the station in Valencia once I’m out of school and taking the first northbound train a whole bunch of times until I’m in Amsterdam. I can’t seem to find any other planning service that’s any more helpful, nor can I find complete timetables for stations themselv

Hi there, I have a global pass of 4 traindays in a month. I would like to go on holiday in july on my own. Starting in Brussel I would like each trainday to be followed by 2 non-train days (visiting city). I did Germany last year and have already been to Poland, Spain, France. Any suggestions how far I can get with only 4 days of train, including getting back to Brussel?Tine

Hi, I am planning a trip for next year and wondered wether it’s worth using the pass as much as possible or to take your time travelling and exploring each place, or is it just personal preference?

Whenever I look on the internet regarding travel between 2 cities,( Milan to Budapest, say ) a host of “low rent” options are listed but I never see eurail as a site I can visit. Why is that?

Hi all, Iam planning my summer 2023 trip through Europe. When iam checking the time tables on the website i can see the departure times but when i check it in the interrail app they dont show. Is it because iam to early or can this have an another explanation?And can you travel from Vienna (Austria) to Rijeka (Croatia)?

I’m tryiung to fill out my itinerary. Only very few cities are listed. When I type in the names of those I want, they aren’t featured. Is interrail only for a small number of cities, or is there a way to use the whole rail network? Thanks
