Hey all! I’m in love with traveling Europe via train instead of plane, but I have a trickier route for work this time!I want to travel from Berlin to Istanbul and back (preferably different routes), and I believe the train from Sofia to Istanbul is open again! Do you have any suggestions of routes to take, and any advice for this big a trip? (probably will stay in a couple of hostels on the way there and on the way back). Thanks!!
Hi!This summer I will be traveling with my boyfriend through Europe with our Interrail passes. We would love to go to Croatia and are planning our trip around this destination. Could you guys give me some advise about routes that would be nice to look at. We will ben traveling from the Netherlands. We are particularly looking in to night trains (with beds if it’s possible) because that will spare us some days. I find it really difficult to find routes with the Rail Planner app because it doesn’t seem to show the fastest routes or night trains. I also could not succeed in a reservation.Hope to hear from you!love,Fé
Have bought a 2 month pass and am planning to do a winter wonderland. Has anyone got experience of Norway/Sweden/Finland during Feb / Mar and what would your main recommendations be - would trying to do all three within 3 weeks be silly at that time of year ? Would it be better to settle with just Norway and Sweden ?Trying to organise myself, but am aware that timetables/reservations will not not yet be available. Does anyone know what time of year the Winter timetables get issued.
Hello! We have read in the rail planner application (in the benefits section) that the German Youth Hostel is free for interrail users. Is this true? If so, how do you book it? Is it for any season of the year? We are going in August. Thanks in advance and kind regards :)
we are planning to go to Holland from Italystop in paris & bruxellesmaybe 1 week time
Hello,We planner to go to Greece this summer through Balkans coming from France but I can't find any trains after Zagreb. Ils there any problem currently with the trains in thé Balkans ? Do you have any tips ?

I want to travel 3 country via rail within 2 weeks, Paris to Lourdes / Madrid / Lisbon / Barcelona / Paris. round trip what best and cheapest way to cover,
Hi travellers! I want to explore all Europe on my own pace. Going to many places from Spain to Norway, then down to Greece stopping aaaall the way down, to finally go back to Spain via Italy and France. To do this, I want to be free in terms of time, like for example, maybe one week I travel 6 days, and maybe in two weeks I travel 1 day.Global passes are not working for this, they have restrictions on time, so I was wondering... if I just buy a ticket from a city in Spain to a city in Norway, can I stop freely through the way? If not, how can I plan my own route with no rush on the number of times to take the train or the period of time I'd have to use my pass? Thanks for your help 😊💖
Hello been looking around the site and looks like ill get the Global Pass for 7 days. I will be spending a month in Europe. 1 week with family in France then 1 week in Spain( Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebsatian), then one week Italy (Rome, Florence,Venice) then back to france and I fly to Norway for a week,Main question are the high speed trains included in the pass since I would like the shortest travel times and wouldnt want to be stuck on a standard train.
Hi, my name is Lauren. I am very interested in the 30-Day last minute trip. I would be travelling solo hopefully from the middle of July to the middle of August. I was wondering if anyone has done this trip before and would have any insights on how the trip goes ie how long you are in each city, is there an itinerary for when the trains leave etc. Thank you.
Have prices for hotels in Amsterdam suddenly become very expensive? Trying to find reasonable accommodation for a family of 4 at the end June/start of July close to Centraal Stn. Prices much higher than other big coties including London and Paris! Any help appreciated.
Hi!We are two Spanish students that will be doing their interrail in Norway from the 6th to the 14th of July. We were wondering if we will see other interrailers over there at that time, we will go to Oslo, Aandalsnes, Bergen, and Vøringsfossen, among others 😁. We are open to meeting and traveling with new people hehe! If you are going to Norway also in some of the dates that we have we can see if we coincide at any point in our trips.
Hi!I am planning to get a bus from Split (Croatia) to Podgorica (Montenegro) and then train from Podgorica to Belgrade (Serbia). As far as I know, it is the only international route by train to Serbia at the moment.Does anyone have experience how to cross the border to Romania/Hungary from Belgrade? I didn’t find any straigth bus.. I only need to cross the border(for example to Timisoara/Szeged) because in Romania and Hungary the train networks are better and it is easy to continue traveling with train to next destination.Any experiences?
Hello, I am a high school student and I won a free trip from 1 to 30 days anywhere in Europe. I wonder if there is a direct route from Zagreb to Malaga or Madrid. if it doesn't exist how it works with the transfer, how often trains run and how with luggage and suitcases?
I am a 20 year old student and we are planning with few friends to travel through Europe with InterRail in July.We would like to take as less reservations as possible in order to be much more flexible.According to booking sites, youth hostels prices seem to be WAY more expensive than I thought. Approximately 30€ in some country…Do you know if those prices are the same on the spot and if it is possible to get several beds on the live day ?
I am flying to Paris but my trip is to see Italy. I have in mind going Paris-Nice-La Spezia-Florence-Rome-Venice-Milan-Geneve-Paris. Any recommendations on changing my plan? What train pass should I buy? Going with wife and 15 and 14 year old girls.
Is the steam train worth it, or is this very touristic with entertainment (that’s not really what I’m looking for ;)But if it also can be done without the entertainment, and worth it, how can I add it in my mobile pass, if I search the route (Jesenice - Nova Gorica) it seems like regular trains only.Is it good to make a return trip in 1 day?thank you,
Hello Community, with the recent discount I spontaneously bought an Interrail Global Pass for 1 Month. I have never interrailed before. But since I bought this pass, I spend a lot of time researching.I will start my Journey from Aachen, close to the German Border with the Netherlands/Belgium.Since my only window for travelling is September/October Scandinavia is not really an option for me. I feel like the days are too short, especially close to the polar circle. The destination I would like to travel the most is Spain/Portugal since I have not been there before. (I have been plenty of times in Italy and also a few times in the balkan). With my research I already know, that these countries are not ideal for Interrail. I am not on a very tight budget and due to the discount I already saved some money. So the extra cost for seat reservations are definitely okay for me and I can plan with that. What really puts me off, though, is the fact that reservations can't be made online. Since I like t
Hi,I’m looking for tips for a beautiful route:start: London for 1 week in Scandinavia incl. at least one city (Oslo / Copenhagen / Stockholm)and from the last stop, back to Amsterdam. Thank you
Hello! I am going from Sofia to Belgrade and then from Belgrade to Bratislava. No trains from Belgrade go to Bratislava though so I was thinking about going via Zagreb. On Serbia’s railway site there is an international connection listed but is the train to Zagreb currently running? I’m going there in two weeks. If anyone has insight on the Sofia to Belgrade train connection, it is also well appreciated. Thanks for your help!
Folks Just checking if there is an alternate way to get from Gothenburg to Oslo in July as I believe the line is closed from repairs over an extended period. I think there is an alternate bus service but not sure if it is covered by my pass. Any information greatly appreciated Norm
Hi all! My partner and I are planning a trip to Europe for about a month and a half this summer. We’re trying to figure out ticketing and making sure we get to the location we need to. I think our main confusion comes when having to find or book tickets for lines not necessarily linked to Eurail. Basically our plan is:Madrid→Barcelona→Nice→Milan→Florence→Riomaggiore→Rome (flying to) Split→Ljubljana→Venice→Interlaken→Frankfurt→Amsterdam→Brussels→Paris→LondonMost of these don’t seem to be issues but with finding certain trains like Barcelona to Nice we seemed to have uncertainty around the specifics of it all. Neither of us have have done everything like this so we are just trying to iron this out with having as few hiccups as possible. Looking for any valuable information, tips or advice anyone has!
Hi fellow interrailers,I’ve bought a 1 month continuous mobile pass and planning to take the trip from Vienna - Innsbruck. The trains goes through Germany without stopping for a small patch of the journey (Salzburg - Kufstein).I’ve seen some threads here mentioning this as just a corridor which won’t be counted as inbound/outbound journey in the home country. But, as I have a mobile pass, will it also consider this corridor exception? If not, what are the other option?I know I can take a different train to travel through Salzburg - Kufstein. Or even buy a ticket for this part of the journey to remain in the same train. But, other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks :)
