Dear Interrail-CommunityI am currently traveling through Norway and Sweden, in detail today, April 11th from Oslo S to Gothenburg C and on Friday April 15th from Gothenburg C to Oslo S. On Friday there are no trains available from Gothenburg to Oslo. The train company does not provide any free alternatives, and they told me, even though I have an Interrail ticket, I will have to pay extra. Is there anything I can do about that, do you know anything? After talking to the customer service, where they told me they can‘t do anything about it, maybe somebody knows what possibilities there are.Thank you so much in advance!Best, Nina

Hello there, I am going on a trip in August in the UK with a friend. We are trying to plan our trip now, but we are kinda stuck. We are not sure if we should just do a daytrip to Glasgow or if we should spend at least one night there. If somebody can give us an advice that would be amazing. Our goal this summer is too see as much as we can and have a good time. We are the kind of people that enjoy strolling through an old town, visiting libraries or  café‘s. Is Glasgow the right fit?If you have another idea of a place or a destination that amazed you I‘ld love to hear about it.Thank you very much in advance!

I’m planning on going interrailing this summer for one month, it’ll be my third time interrailing…I’m thinking mainly about Netherlands/Germany/Czech Rep/Slovakia and back to the UK. Does have any suggestions or places they would recommend?

I'll be travelling around eastern-Europe in August. I've seen most of the big cities so I would like to focus on nature and oceanside views this time. Any advice? I would love to go camping from time to time. I have a little basic camping experience.

Planning return trip to Naples from Brighton in October. Staying in Naples 10 days. Looked at standard return train fares and they seem to be 300£ plus. So is the Global Interrail Pass the way to go? I can get senior fare. Will I be able to use it on Eurostar and then the high speed rails in France/Italy (e.g Brighton - London - Paris - Turin - Naples) or another feasible itinerary?. Any advice would be appreciated. Robsk. 

I am planning on taking a train from Venice, Italy, to Rijeka, Croatia, using a train that travels through Slovenia. Where/ how is the best place to get my passport stamped to say that I have left the Schengen area once I get to Croatia? And how do I get my passport stamped when I get to Croatia? I am not planning on going via an airports. 

Hey Everyone,i’m planning my first interrail trip during august or september. My main aim is to visit Italy, France, Spain and in a a seperate trip Finland, Sweden and Norway.Since i prefer spontanous decisions i’m not a big fan of the mandatory reservations on many highspeed trains, especially in southern europe. But during my research i could’nt find much usefull informations about other fast options for traveling by train.My questions are now: How are the regional train connections in those countries and are there informations about them, like maps that show which destination you can reach with which type of train? In Germany for example you have the ICEs/ICs as highspeed trains, but also different types of regional trains. The Regionalexpress for example does’nt need any type of reservation and you can still travel 300km in 3 hours. Are there options like these in the mentioned countries?I would be very grateful, if someone could also provide links if there are such maps or other u

Has anyone discovered or created a map of the most scenic routes available for travel with a Eurail pass?  Also, I understand from the Eurail website that many of the scenic routes require reservation fees.  Is that right, and are the prices pretty reasonable?

I’ve been to Rome, Florence. Would like to go to Venice. Is it easy to get the train from Rome airport to Venice and return? Coming from US to Rome RT and first time taking the train across Italy. Any suggestions for Venice in mid/late July? 

Germans goverment try to convince the Citizen of Germany to use more public transport. Because of that they started a quite unique offer. The “9€ Ticket” (per month) in the months June,July,August you can get for 9€ a ticket this is valid on all regionaltrains (no ICE,ECE,IC,EC,Flixtrain,Snälltoget), public bus services (no Flixbus,Pinkbus), trams, metro in 2nd class.You can use the 9€ticket for example for daytrips fromBerlin to Potsdam, explore Berlin with the touristic buslines 100,200,300 :) , have a nice ferry ride on the “Wansee” from Wansee to Kladow.Munich a daytrip to Dachau, Salzburg,Kufstein,Berchtesgarden,NeuSchwarnstein CastleAnd many many more destinations.For the Railfans here in this community just note that even some NarrowGauge Rails like the “Harzer Schmalspurbahnen” decided to accept the 9€ ticket.

Hello! I’m trying  to make a reservation for the Bernina Express, but in the Eurail webpage (Benefits in Switzerland) it says that the reservation costs are 14CHF in summer and 10CHF in winter and when trying to buy the tickets directly at the RhB webpage and adding the Eurail Pass in “Reduction” while adding to cart, the reservation cost is 24 CHF… Does anyone know which is the mistake or how I can get the 10/14 CHF cost? I´m travelling in april. Thanks!

Looking for information on what is covered on the Eurail pass in the Lauterbrunnen, Murren, and Gimmelwald area.  

Has anyone travelled through the balkans while interrailing recently? We had planned to travel from Venice to sanatori, this seemed possible when I entered the destinations in on the interrail rout planner. However when I look at the rail disruptions on the interrail website many of these routs are not in service anymore. Can anyone clarify or advise?

Hi. I’m deciding my route, where to visit, stay, everything. I’m planing to buy “10 days within 2 months” interrail and I want to stay approximately 5 days in every location. I hope that 60€ for a day will be enough for everything(accommodation, museums, renting a bike, food, go to bars, etc). I hope that if I make reservations 2 days before i go (accommodation and for train), it will be fine. That’s what I want to know. I’m reading your comments but also there’s a lot of information. I guess I need to do early reservation for Barcelona to Paris. And I changed Poznan with Prague . Feel free to share your thoughts, thanks a lot. 

Does anyone have a crazy Interrail Trip Itinerary that goes through all 33 countries in less than 2 months starting from Germany (or any Western European Country)

I’m working on trying to decide what global pass to purchase but I can’t find applicable routes to create a potential itinerary. I’m starting out from Porto Portugal trying to get to Madrid Spain but all searches say “no trains available” although it appears to be a major route. What am I missing? Is it because I’m crossing country borders? My ultimate goal is to go from Portugal, to Madrid,Barcelona, Nice, Venice to Budapest. Any advice would be appreciated.  Rob 

Hi everyone.I have a global pass and planning on going to Istanbul (among others). It’s the beginning of the trip and I’d like to have that covered and make reservations so I’m not stuck in a foreign country I’ve never been in. But I’ve recently learned that you can only buy tickets at the station !! Which means that I would land in a country not knowing if I can get out of it (by the Sofia night train). Have you been in that situation ? Are there any way to contact the station and book the tickets ?Was the train full ? How did you manage that situation ?And if you took that train, how much was the fee to book a reservation ?

Hi,We are looking to begin interrailing on the 4th July in Bucharest making our way through the Balkans to arrive at Slovenia.Ideally (open to alterations) we would take this route:Bucharest - Sofia Sofia - ThessalonikiThessaloniki - Belgrade (we are under the assumption that there is a direct night train for this route but not certain)The information does not seem to be readily available regarding these routes and are curious to find out whether there are any trains available completing these routes this summer?Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone. I spontaneously bought a 3 month pass for me and my husband. We will be starting in Birmingham, then getting the Euro tunnel to Paris probably, at the beginning of September. The rough plan is France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain and Portugal. We have 75 days remaining to be in the Schengen Area so Turkey seems a good place to be at some point after Greece. Or Croatia, Montenegro of Romania. I like a mixture of planning ahead with some spontaneity and like cities, food, sightseeing and some down time. I have a mobile pass (which after reading some of the comments on various community pages I am beginning to regret) but it is what it is. For those that are more familiar with rail travel in Europe, what would be a suggested 3 month trip? What would you not miss and what would you avoid?

Will it be possible and how will you make the route within those cities?

Hello, I’m looking to book a train from Paris to Zermatt. There are two short transfers -- one at Strasbourg station (10 mins) and another at Visp station (6 mins). Is it advisable to book this train ticket? Need some advice, thank you very much!

Hello allI have bought a 10 day global pass for me and my son. Now I want to plan a round trip from Czechia through German to Paris, then to Milano, continuing through Switzerland to Vienna and back to Czechia. My intention was to plan for every section a separate trip and make the relevant reservations, but I do not succeed to plan more than one trip. But in one trip, I cannot choose the single destinations I would like to have, including stop-overs.Can somebody help me?Other issues are not available reservations on some trains and the fact that FreccaRossa is not included in the Pass, despite the advertising of Interrail. And how do I see whether we have adjacent seats on the reservation before paying?Looking forward to your comments!Thanks in advance!Heinz
