Hey, I’m located in Thessaloniki, Greece and I’m trying to plan my trip from here. I wanted Barcelona to be my first destination however I can find any roots, not even from Athens. Our railway here is owned by Hellenic Train which doesn’t seem to do trips anywhere out of the country. Has anyone ever travelled from here by train? I need some help. Do I have to go by plane and if so is this covered by the interrail pass?

Hi Community, I am visiting Europe for the first time with my family (2 adults and 2 kids (10,14 yrs) for around 8-9 days. Reaching Rome via flight. 2 days in Rome, 1 day each in Florence and Venice. Than planning to take a train from Venice to Paris and after 2 days in Paris. Train to Interlaken (1.5 days) and back to Rome via train. I need your expert opinion: 1. Do you think this itenary with work?2. Do you think 5-7 days pass will be beneficial. Also does the pass work in local transport (within a city) or just intercity and country.3. If this doesnot work can you suggest a trip? We will be in Rome on March 25th and will depart back from Rome on April 2nd (Noon).Appreciate your expert Advice ASAP. Thanks  

Hi everyone, I am in Switzerland and want to take my son on a fun mountain day trip from  Basel on saturday for his birthday. He's turning 12 and I'm looking into the different opitions glaciers, snowparks, gondolas up beautiful summits etc. what would you recommend? We have a 1rst class interrail ticket so also open to suggestions on perks and discounts it might be worth making the most of. Probably won't go skiing as it seems a bit short and pricey once you get all the equipment plus my son has only been skiing once so he'd probably have to take lessons to enjoy it. Hi everybody,I am planning my first Interrail trip for June. I will be traveling with my 10 year old daughter. I planned to start the trip by flying to Thessaloniki and then continuing the journey along the route Skopje–Belgrade–Budapest–Krakow–Warsaw. However, after doing some research, it seems that Greece, Macedonia, and Serbia might not be the best options due to the lack of train connections. I have tried to find routes from various sources but with little success. Do you have any good tips for this route, or should I completely rethink my travel plan? 🤔   

I’m looking to plan a 3 week-ish trip in September with my 4 year old. It won’t all be solo, but some of it will be. Have not bought a pass and have no restrictions on that at the moment. Looking to plan the best route that works for us and then see what pass suits our needs. First of all, I’m looking for specific advice on travelling alone with a young child.Are there any top tips? Hello! I am looking for a travel time between France to Italy using this train? I’ve looked all over and I can not see a clear time between the two. Thank you!

Hi everyone,  on the Eurail map in front of me, I see coloured lines. There is a red line from Toulouse in France, via Latour de Carol, Puigcerdá to Barcelona. In other words,  according to this map, I can go that route with Eurail. However,  when I enter this in the planner, there is no option such as this.How does this work?

Will be traveling in Vienna and would like to go into Bratislava, Slovakia and Hungary (anywhere across the border), mainly jjust for the aspect of saying I’ve been there, rather than doing lots of touristy stuff. Just a quick trip in to each country and then back to Vienna in the same day (or even a few hours depending on how long this takes). Would it be best to use a full day of my Eurail pass just for this (otherwise I am using local Vienna pass only since I’m just in Vienna), or are there cheap routes from Vienna into these countries with a quick trip back? Any suggestions on routes or what is cheapest? Would prefer to save a day of the Eurail pass and just use local passes if possible. Thanks for any ideas. 

Hello Community, I'd be extremely grateful for some advice on a 14 day trip itinerary in August I'm trying to pull together for my family (kids aged 8 and 10) The more I look the harder it seems to become, with night trains etc etc.  I have a rough outline, which is below 👇. But Im getting stuck on the details. Please please please help. I'm more than happy to copy try and tested routes. The trip outline is; Leave London, travel to Paris and stay for night or two, then travel into Switzerland, to stay around or at Interlaken for 4-5 days, then head to coast resort or town where ideally there is a euro camp or equivalent (france). From the resort, head back to London or if more appropriate fly back. Thanks all

Hi everyone, We have a week in Portugal (Carvoeiro) booked in August and I’ve got a global pass to get down there and back again - there are 3 of us; me, my husband and my 11 year old son. I was thinking Paris - Barcelona - Seville and then bus along the south coast to Carvoeiro. But starting to think that Seville in August might be a bad idea heat-wise, and actually I’d really like to visit some of the northern cities like Bilbao and Santander.I was just wondering if someone had any experience and advice of a route we could take - I’d quite like to spend 2 or 3 nights in each city if possible, and then take a different, possibly more direct, route home. Any advice about good routes would be really welcome; we’re very open to sleeper trains and happy to pay seat reservations for high speed trains. Many thanks everyone!

Currently, I am in hospital und from March on I want to take a gap year and have the time of my life: finally seeing the world and having a life worth living. First, I thought of going abroad and staying in for example Spain for a longer period of time, however, why not exploring more destinations.my question to you: do you have some great examples of your (first) or best routes (and how long you’ve stayed anywhere). Hello! According to our plans, unfortunately, the train journey from Turkey to Berlin exceeds 1 day by about 40 minutes. To solve this problem, we made a plan to get off at the Prague Hilavni Nadrazi stop, walk to another stop, and then take a bus to Berlin. Can you suggest a better plan or give me some advice?

Hello, I came from Strasbourg and I would like to visit Copenhague during my trip. What is the best itinerary and what else should I visit ?

I would love to travel up to Estonia via Lithuania and Latvia from Poland but I am struggling to see how to do this! Is it possible? And if so what is the best way to plan/book this?  I already have my interrail pass so am looking for some help for the best journey to do! I have the 10 travel days in 2 months pass!!

I purchased 2 10 day 1st class Flex passes yesterday. Our trip begins in the Netherlands from which we want to travel to Berlin. The time tables are not yet available for when we will be traveling (09-July-2025). But current schedule shows frequent options. Our other intended destinations in order were Cologne, Strasbourg, Bayeux and Paris (we're flying home from CDG). To Cologne looked simple with a train change, but the suggested options had layover times shorter than the suggested needed time to allow for changes. The remaining segments get very complicated, some with multiple transfers. Would I better to change the order of the destinations? If I have to cut a destination it would be Strasbourg. We want to end up in Paris since that is our flight home, arriving at least a day or two before 2-Sept so we can go to Notre Dame since we could not go in 2022 when were there.Appreciate any help and advice.

Can I use regular estonian, Latvian and lithuanian trains with an interrail global Pass? Are there trains to use in These countries? Because some of them do not appear on the interrail map.

Hello Back on the rails this year and the second trip I’m planning (thank you pass sale) is Sicily, (TRAIN ON A BOAT!), dawdle up through Italy, over the moutains into Switzerland, swim in some lakes/climb some mountains and mooch home.Just wondering if anyone out there has done that route and has any recommendations or advice?Might be the last rail trip the teenager will do with me, sniff.ThanksSarah
