Get ready to travel

Earlier posts suggest that one can click on a big + (plus) symbol on the app under the “my pass” section and add another pass on the phone. However, on my iphone, there is no such interface and no plus symbol. Please advise how do i add my spouse pass as we will be using just 1 phone (mine) during our trip. I have already added my pass on the app but unable to add my wife’s. Thanks in advance

I would like to purchase a 10 day in 2 months Eurail Global Flexipass for travel between May 30 and July 10.  Total duration of travel is 42 days but my travel occurs in three months (May, June, and July).  Will a 10 day in 2 month pass cover 10 days of travel in the period? 

We are 2 female seniors traveling from Prague to Budapest and Budapest to Paris on overnight sleeper trains. These two trips are spaced about a week apart, in August and September 2024. We will have  global eurail passes. Where are on the reservation form (trainline.com) do we add the eurail passes?  Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm trying to make a reservation and have added a trip but when I add a traveller I get an error message saying the details don't match? 

We are a couple that are planning to do a trip around Europe with our puppy, even if he is a young puppy, he will not be able to travel as a "luggage" due to size. Are there any countries we should avoid? Which countries are best for traveling with a pet? We dont mind paying, we just want it to be as hassle free as possible.

i won an interrail global pass last year and want to use it this summer. My boyfriend would like to visit greece and the islands. But the ferries aren‘t included in the global pass. There is a special pass for the ferries for the islands and I would like to know, if it‘s possible to change the global pass into one of the ferrie ones?

Je n’ai pas de soucis pour payer mon siège sur le Toulouse-Narbonne ni sur le Madrid-Cordoba.Par contre pour Narbonne-Madrid il est indiqué : “ Indisponible sur Interrail.eu. Cette réservation ne peut pas être effectuée sur notre site Web. Consultez « Plus d'informations » afin de découvrir les autres options pour réserver.” Et dans “Plus d’informations” je vois écrit : “Réservez sur place dans les grandes gares d'Europe” et “Reservations only locally at train station in Spain.”Ça veut dire qu’il n’y a aucun moyen de réserver mon siège en ligne ? Je ne vis pas en France métropolitaine donc c’est compliqué si je veux m’y prendre à l’avance… En tout cas je n’ai pas trouvé sur le site de RENFE comment réserver uniquement le siège…Merci pour votre aide et très bonne journée à tous!

HI my family will be traveling to Europe this summer July 23-Aug 13th.  We would love to hit all three countries France, Italy and Switzerland and do it all by train.  Has anyone experienced a three week trip all by train with the family.  Where should we start and end?  How do we pick and choose what destinations in each country?  We definitely want to explore some of the beautiful places in nature and mountains as well.  I am grateful for any feedback or layout you suggest.  

Hi allWoild anyone know if there is a “lost & found” contact (email) for the Italian rail company which I can approach for help. I lost my Apple AirPod Pro on 26 February. I think I must have misplaced it around Tirano. The last time I used the AirPod was during travel on Bernina Express on the day.  I only realized tthat I lost it today when I have flown out of Italy already. We travelled on Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano on 26 February.   On the same say, from Tirano we travelled to Milan on a train that departed on around 1:40 pm (it was supposed to leave around 1:08pm but got delayed) 

Hello, does a Seat reservation really cost 15€/train in Italy?

I have several train journeys planned in June and July, through Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech republic.Most of the trips which include train changes, are shown on the journey planner, can I assume one ticket for these. I have had to add some manually, one especially involves 4 trains. Do I have to add each train separately, so they can be activated on the day

In august I am planning a trip with 11 years old son. I am not experienced with Eurail pass and now try to compare what is cheaper for us - Eurail or regular tickets. Lets say our route is the following: Lisbon - PortoToulouse - MontpellierMontpellier - MarseilleMarseille - NiceEURAIL PASS. 4 days global pass for adult is 181 EUR (including spring discount) and free of charge for my son. But then as I understand we will need at least 4 days x 2 people x 12 EUR = 96 EUR for seat reservations. Do I correctly understand it? If yes, then the totals for us for this route would be close to 300 EUR. SEPARATE TICKETS. If we purchase separate tickets directly, it will cost us approx. 80+45+45+60=231 EUR.From these calculations it seems that Eurail pass is not a good option for our trip. Is it really so or maybe I miss to understand something about this pass? Maybe our one day transfers are too short for it t pay off? 

I work in France  and have been living in france from last 5 years but I am not a European citizen . Which Pass should I buy . Is it Eurail or interrail Pass ? 

We purchased a 5 day Eurail pass in February 2024 . We have to cancel our March trip due to my broken foot. How long will our pass be valid?  We are postponing our travels until October 2024. ‘Thanks for any help!

Hello, I am planning to travel by train ICE 9568 Frankfurt HBF - Paris Set on 18 July 2024. On the interrail website it says that the sale of reservations starts up to 90 days in advance and costs from 19€, when I looked on DB (bahn.de) the reservation for this train comes out here at 4,90€. So can I buy this ticket and will it be enough if I have an Interrail ticket or should I wait and buy 90 days in advance for 19€, or is there somewhere else to buy a ticket for this train? Thanks for the answer. 

how much time do you need to allow between trains? I have heard trains can run late. Is 30 minutes generally enough time, or trains can run later than that? The specific location is Brussels, if that makes any difference in regard to time between trains and the reason I am asking this question. And what happens if you miss your next train/connection? 

I would like to know if there is a way to tell the right and left sides of the train on a seat map. I am travelling from Innsbruck to Bologna on an EC train (EC83) in April this year. I’ve found that I can choose seats from a map if I use the OBB website, but it’s not clear which is the front of the train. I’ve read that the views are better on the RHS. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I’m currently trying to figure out what would be more viable to get from the U.K. to Amsterdam. I’ve looked at the global pass for 5 days, as we will be travelling via train into Amsterdam from just outside it most days. Can the global pass be used to get to london from elsewhere in the UK, catch the Eurostar, and get to our accommodation just outside Amsterdam, and then do the reverse on the way back (provided we have the necessary amount of travel days left to use)? Given we’ll be travelling via train most of the time there anyway it seems like a pass might be more budget friendly than getting a flight there and back then buying train tickets every day.

If I book a seat reservation for a train from Germany to Paris for July 26 but then later decide I do not need this reservation, do I lose one of my travel days? I have a 5 day 1 month global Eurail pass. This particular route requires a seat reservation. Also, question along the same liines - if I book a train to another destination but don’t need a seat reservation and then I want to cancel that train, will it also use one of my days? Or cancellations don’t matter and the only thing that uses a day is when you actually travel? Thanks!

Bonjour,je vais en Bulgarie (SOFIA) en Aout 2024 et selon le simulateur de trajet j’en aurai pour un peuplus de 2 jours seulement pour l’aller (le retour se fera trois semaines plus tard)Ma question est la suivante, QUEL PASS DOIS-JE PRENDRE ?Le pass 5 jours me semble le plus adapté mais est-ce qu’une fois activé au début de mon voyage, il estencore possible de l’utiliser trois semaines plus tard si je n’ai pas voyagé pendant 5 jours ?Il me semble avoir compris que même si j’avais le pass, certains trains doivent être payés et réservés (mais ils sont moins chers)Dernière question : comme je fais un aller-retour en BULGARIE, n’y a-t-il pas une option justeconcernant ce pays ? Cela m’évitera de payer un pass « EUROPE » alors que je vais seulement là-bas.Merci pour votre aide

Hi,we would like to take the EN 346 from Hamburg to Stockholm on May 20th. It can currently only be booked on SJ.se until around April 8th; it is not yet available for later dates. But you can get it from Interrail for May 20th.However, the only options here are:Bed in sleeper 2nd classBed in couchette 2 classSeat 2 class At the SJ you can book your own compartment for two people and that's what we want as a couple (f/m). Do you also get this if you book two reservations on Interrail with the first option "Bed in sleeper 2 class"? Or are beds perhaps reserved in two different compartments?I would still wait, but I'm a little afraid that I'll miss the time when it can be booked with SJ (which would have to be around mid-April) and we won't get any places.Regards, Christian

Good morning, I received an alert this morning that TGV tickets were available for the dates I need. However for the 2nd  June I can’t see the train I want on the Rail Europe site or the SNCf site. Screengrab attached shows the 10.45am on the Rail Planner app. Is this train not on sale yet or is it not running? Thank you.
