Hi guys, We are planning to go from Lucerne to Como (11th July). Last week we checked the itinerary for this date and it said that there was multiple trains from Lucerne-Lugano-Como - no reservation needed. But today we checked again and it said there are no trains available for our dates. One alternative option we found is to get the 8:18 train from Lucerne to Lugano, get there at 10:48 and then wait until 13:00 and get a direct Flixbus to Como for 14 EUR - arriving at 13:45. Is there a reason for this (not updated, closed lines, etc.)? Is there a better way to get to Como quicker from Lucerne? Thanks so much!
Is there any way to check whether I can book Eurostar or the TGV for this trip over the Easter weekend? We are coming back midweek so I am sure there will be capacity on those trains. We want to travel on the 30th and due to engineering works there are no trains into Euston so we can’t get to London before 14:30 - is the only way to check to buy the passes? 15% cancellation fee does seem a bit heavy to be able to check and rule this in or out? Thanks
Hi Guys, Can anyone give me the low down, or share your experiences of the sleeper trains. We are a family of four. No set destinations yet but it must include sleeper trains, according to my son. What are the differences? Best sleeper trains you have used? Any Pros and Cons? Pictures would also be amazing! Thanks guys!!!
Thank you for the many who have posted on usage of Eurail Global Pass. I just purchased passes for my family to travel next February. Read that it is better to book on OBB webitse. I bought a “10 days within 2 months” Eurail Global Card. Can I ask that if I book and reserve seats on the OBB website, do I still need to create my trips on the eurail.com Trip Planner please?Of not, how will my Eurail usage be recorded. Would greatly appreciate advice from experience users. Thank you so much in advance. regards, Pauline from Singapore
Hi,We are planning to travel from Geneva to Milan on Sun 21 July 2024 and we can’t find any sensible options. We had planned to travel over the border between Brig and Domodossola but this appears to be shut for the summer, does anyone know when a rail replacement timetable will be in place and how much of the line will be closed. I’m concerned about how long it might add to our journey as we’re travelling with two small children. Are any other options recommended? We’ve been looking at Zurich - Milan via Lugano but again can’t find any trains for the Swiss / Italian border crossing.Any advice would be great, every option we look at seems to fail!Cheers,Claire
Hi everyone,I’m trying to make a seat reservation from Valence (France) to Barcelona, but it doesn’t allow me, as it shows in the image below. Can anyone tell me what can I do? Should I go to any Spanish train station and buy it from there? Does the Interrail pass applies, or do I have to pay the whole ticket independently from the Interrail pass?Thank you very much,Lúa
HelloI try to organize our trip in Norway, Sweden and Germany this summer. But I can’t manage to book our night train back from Berlin to Basel around the 18 august. I have the impression that there is work going on and that the night train will no longer operate from August 9. Do you have any tip about this trip ? I also try by the line Berlin-Paris but on the OBB web site there is written that no seats or aything available… Thanks for your help and have a nice evening,Karine
I’ve been on the site multiple times trying to get info on trains/prices/bookings from Zurich to Milan in July. Is it not possible to get this info 4 months in advance? Every time I put in a date and time I get the message that there are no trains. If I’m too far in advance of the date, when should I come back to book?
I am Ronja , 18 years old, from Germany/ Bavaria and would like to travel from 1.7. - approx. 21.7.I would like to travel to the following cities:Amsterdam- Copenhagen- Göteborg- Stockholm- Oslo Who would like to come along - I would be happy if someone would join me
Morning,Does anyone know when the TGV from Lille Europe to Marseile St Charles departing 14.01 on 25 May 2024 will go on sale. It’s just outside of the dates currently open for booking. Many thanks,Emma
Hello all,(For the purposes of full disclosure, I am not new here, but since I was last online a year or so ago the Facebook login authentication I was using seems to have stopped working permanently, so I’ve had to create a new account.)I’m taking the Chopin sleeper from Vienna to Warsaw East (Wschodnia) in a couple of months’ time, but to my shame I wasn’t careful enough when booking and have only reserved as far as Warsaw Gdanska. I don’t really want to cancel and rebook if I can help it, firstly because it seems like overkill, and secondly because Nightjet partner trains now have dynamic pricing, so I might lose money.I am guessing the most important thing is that the Interrail app ticket and the sleeper berth reservation QR code match up, so I have entered Gdanska rather than Wschodnia into my journey planner, and I’m pretty sure the train attendants won’t care in the slightest if I stay on one more stop. Obviously I can’t just add Gdanska to Wschodnia as a separate trip after the
Hi All, I need help with the Italy Night Trains! I’m finding myself going in circles with multiple companies customer support. We have a global pass, 2 of us my partner and i, and are trying to plan to take the INC #1955 from Rome to Palermo. We want a 2 person cabin. We are looking into October, HOWEVER we’ve been exploring many many dates prior to get an idea of pricing and how to book and it is just not working. Heres an overviewContacted Eurail Support as “Prices Unavailable” comes up on most dates on the eurail seat res website. Also only shows couchettes. They said to book through a partner, namely Italiarail Contacted Italiarail, all looked good except it was charging full price, not seat res and also split the train with a “transfer” that doesnt exist. They said, please don’t book with us, use eurrail. Raileurope shows no trains available Trenitalia doesn’t let us add Eurail pass.I am so confused because people say you can book these seatres for these trains, but i feel like i’
Hi! Another question from a newbie. I want to travel from Paris to Madrid but I want to leave Paris in the evening. However there is no direct connection so there only connections like the one from the link below. There you need to change the train in the morning. So my question is if i book this whole journey in advance (2 different trains) do i need 1 or 2 travel days from my global pass?https://www.interrail.eu/de/plan-your-trip/interrail-timetable?ol=Paris+%28France%29&ov=8724855&dl=Madrid+City+%28Spain%29&dv=7199999&vl=&vv=&t=1721210451173&ar=false&rt=&tt=&mc=&mct=1
Hello! Next month I want to take the AVI from Marseille to Madrid. Unfortunately you cannot reserve seats in advance. I don't arrive in Marseille until the evening and the train leaves at 8 a.m. Has anyone ever taken this connection and booked a seat reservation at the train station? Can this be done at the ticket machine? I don’t know what to do and DB and renfe couldn't really help me... Thank you for your tipps :)
HelloLooking at another trip, this time;London → HamburgHamburg → CopenhagenCopenhagen → CologneCologne → LondonObviously there is always the Eurostar suppliment/reservation but I’m getting mixed messages about the 8 euro reservation on the ICE’s from Brussels and back to Paris, some searches say required and some say recommended. It’s end of July/August so may be better not to risk it but I wonder if I’m missing a trick?Thank you in advanceSarah
Dear community,I would like to travel with interrail from London to Paris in the end of July. However, the reservation system says that it is not possible to reserve any seats on the eurostar any more. What are my options to get to Paris now? As I have a specific date that I have to be in Paris, I am not flexible with that.Could I take a train to Dover, take the ferry to Calais and then take a train from Calais to Paris again? I think train tickets are not yet available for that route yet. I guess that I have to pay for the ferry ticket extra and cannot use interrail for that?If there are any other options, it would be great, if you let me know. Thank you very much.
Knowing all the issues now I feel like I should have gone with the paper pass but here we go..I watched the tutorial and some others video but they don't explain everything.Having a 2 month Mobile pass does it start counting the days from the moment of the activation or from the first day of travel? What are the conditions that make you consume a travel day? Since I will do a lot of start and stop do I need to deactivate some how the pass to not lose travel days?Do I need to create a QR code for each movement like: if I take 5 trains in a day do I need to add all of them in my trip then generate a qr for each? and if a train is canceled can I undo the qr creation? Can't I just insert the start and stop of the day? What are the steps that I need to do before start traveling during my travel days?Does it support Offline mode? There's a solution to provide assistance in situations with no internet?Does exist somewhere a Mobile pass simulator where you can test the usage before the departure?
Hello everyone,is there a way to get a trip report after my mobile Pass expires? I have to fill a travel expenses claim and I need to prove that I used the Pass just for two days.Thank you in advance.
Next month my family and I will be travelling from the US to the UK. It will be my wife and I and our two children aged 7 and 10. We intend to spend 11 days in the UK only, then return to the US. No additional European travel required. We have decided to travel by train and had intended to buy a Britrail pass (8 day flexi pass) and I’ve put together an outline for each day’s travel. Even though we would only be travelling on seven of the days, the 8-day Britrail pass seemed the best option. Then an ad popped up on Facebook advertising Eurail. So I started to investigate and the pricing is considerably cheaper, plus I can select a 7-day flexible pass.So are there any material differences between the two services? The only real difference that I have found so far is that Heathrow Express is included in the Britrail Pass and not Eurail. London Underground is covered by neither. But we need to travel out of King’s Cross and will need to take the tube either way (either from Heathrow with Eur
I see that Interrail pass holders get a 30% discount on the Flåm railway in Norway. However, I don’t see any way to book discounted tickets in advance. It’s not possible on the Interrail app. The Flåm railway website redirects to www.norwaysbest.com which only sells full price round-trip tickets. It tells you to book on vy.no for single tickets but that website of course does not do Interrail discounts. Any ideas? Turning up at the ticket office in midsummer hoping for availability is too risky.
If less than 180 days - why won't it let me book? The tickets are available but displays this warning instead of letting me select a price.
Apologies for the novice question. I am travelling from London to Athens using the global pass. It feels sensible to work back so I am trying to book my last journey first - Thessaloniki to Athens on 26 July. I have seen some info saying you can only book from a local greek train station (very unhelpful if true) and other info that you can book online in advance. I have looked at the Hellenic website but that doesn’t show any trains for the 26th July but this is a popular route. Surely that can’t be right? My two questions:Where can I find the times of these trains because no where seems to say they have any trains on this route on this day, which seems strange? Can I book a ticket in advance for this train, if so what is the best website to do which takes interail global pass? All help greatly appreciated.
Hi all,This is my first time going to Europe and I’ve never purchased a eurail pass before. I will be in Europe for one month. I need to travel to Paris from Spain for 4 days, from Spain to Rome for 4 days, then to Florence 4 days, Positano 4 days, and back to Rome where I fly home. Is it better to buy a Global pass or a 10 day in 2 months pass? Any advice you can give would be helpful.Annette
