To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more

Hi, I’m new to using the Eurail and am planning a trip across Europe. Last week when looking at train times from Basel, Switzerland to Paris on June 17 I noticed some train options that took less than 6 hours to get back to Paris. Today, when I went to make a reservation I found that the same reservation will take over 15 hours. Is the timing too early to look at this or did seats book up that fast? Seems like with an Eurail pass it would be easier to make these reservations but now I’m not so sure.Sincerely,Brock
Ola tenho uma questão um grupo de amigos ganharam o passe o ano passo um grupo de 5 , eu quero comprar o passe de maneira a ir com eles no entando tenho a duvida se para fzr reserva nos mesmos comboios que eles?
I’m finding the app. / website is very confusing to use. Our initial international trip is London to Amsterdam and the app. has defaulted to that being an outward journey but first we need to get from home to London which is an entirely UK based trip … which I don’t appear to be able to book. How do I do this? We won’t need a reservation for the journey so is it okay to just turn up and show our pass QR code, i.e. does every train just accept that as a valid ticket when no reservation is required?
Does anyone know why I can’t add our two night jet trips to the app it just won’t let me add them.
Hello, Community!I am fairly far along in planning a family trip to England, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. We have Eurail Global Passes. I have successfully made seat reservations using Rail Europe for journeys between London and Paris, Paris and Bayeux, Bayeux and Paris, Paris and Brussels, Brussels and Cologne.I have two questions. One, how do I add these train rides I have seat reservations for as journeys to My Trip on Rail Planner? Two, How do I book all the other non-seat-reservation journeys? Do I need to go through the individual railways? I’ve looked at getting tickets on the Great Western Railway in England, for example, but I don’t see any way to have the cost of the ticket be covered by my pass.Thank you for sharing your experience and insight with someone new to this adventure!Susan
Hi. I bought a mobile global pass in the November sale from the myinterrail website. I’m trying to make some seat reservations on Eurostar through this site and although I’ve created an account, I can’t make a reservation. It’s saying I need to be logged in, which I am. Do I need to create a trip first on this website to be able to book reservations? I can’t see how to add my pass. Will anything I book on here link with my Railplanner app? Any help gratefully appreciated! (I don’t want to make the payments on my phone via the app) Thank you
Hi everyoneI’m trying to book seats for the train from Marseille to Madrid on 23 April at 08:04 but interrail website says I cannot do it on the website. I live in Italy and am travelling with a friend so we’d like to book seats at the same time to be together. Before the login interrail website gave it available to book, but then it isn’t. I’m not going to be in Marseille before the 21 April so I should book it in advance, but how?Can I do this in Italy? Or can I do it over the phone with a train company?Thank you!Eleonora

Hello everyone! This upcoming summer I'm going to travel to Aberystwyth in Wales. I want to this by train, because I've always wanted to make such a train journey and I've never visited the UK, outside of London, so I want to enjoy the landscapes a bit more too. It's me first ever train journey, so I've a question. If I buy the Interrail Great Britain Pass, is it allowed to get on the train from Birmingham to Aberystwyth? And do I need to make a reservation for that, or can I just hop on the train? Already thank you for replying.
Hi. Did a search but couldn’t find an answer. Just bought 1st Interrail pass and planning trip from UK to France & Spain. Made seat reservations online OK for initial UK / France part of holiday. However, can’t make seat reservations online for Spanish part of holiday. We are travelling to 7 Spanish cities and booking accommodation so need to be sure we can reserve train seats / tickets. Can we do this in advance in the UK before we leave or only when we arrive in Spain which seems a bit risky as we will have already booked accommodation? Please advise the best way to do this. many thanks in advance.
I bought an Interrail global pass (for my 4-person family) to travel from Rotterdam to Barcelona by train. However it now seems to me that it is impossible to make the seat reservations on the dates we want to travel.I use https://www.raileurope.com/en to plan for the full trip or for the trip in parts. However it repeats to says that “rail pass doesn't apply for this trip".Does this mean that I cannot make the trip on the date that I wanted to?This would mean that I cannot use the Interrail card and I have bought it for nothing?Anyone who can help me out to find a way to travel from Rotterdam to Barcelona on April 28th or April 29th?
Kann man mit einem "Interrail-4-tagespass in einem monat" (für ein bestimmtes land) öfters in das jeweilige Land ein- und ausreisen, oder darf man nur einmal ein-, und einmal ausreisen?
We are planning to travel in May some days from The Netherlands to Paris to Barcelona and back.We can't seem to find what is the most handiest way to travelWe don't see much difference with 1st and 2nd class? Probably for such long er trips there will always come a space available, so is it really neccesary to reserve spots? Would a 4 days pass be enough to do our travel?
I have the 10 days in 2 months promo pass, and the last Activation date is June 1st. (and the last day of travel is July 31st). I would prefer to use my travel days in late June / early July. Is there any way to activate the pass for June 1st, but not have the first travel day until mid June? Or would I have to ‘sacrifice’ one of my 10 days to show a (fake) journey on 1st June?
Hi Interrailers (and hopefully Interrail customer service)Not a happy bunny – been planning a trip starting in May (10 days, theoretically over 2 months) and most of the planning hinges on the Nightjet from Paris to Berlin (or Vienna). The Eurail/Interrail app clearly states, in red letters, “Prices for this journey will start to be available 90 days before departure”.OK, so i checked out the departure on 27 April, to see what changed when the date came within that 90-day window. At midnight plus one nanosecond, then every few minutes. No prices available. So i checked on the ÖBB Nightjet website and what do i see? “Seats can usually be booked 180 days in advance”. And indeed when you try their booking engine, it allows you to specify any date 180 days from now.Result: there is zero availability from May onwards. Zero.If it weren’t for the notice in red letters on the Eurail/Interrail app i might have had a chance of getting a Nightjet reservation to somewhere. As it stands, hours and hou
End of March I’m on a fast trip to southern Italy. One possible route takes the Inoui 2369 from Paris Gare de l’Est to Strasbourg and then connects to the TER 96225 down to Basel but this only gives a14 min connection time (at 15:40 on a Wed afternoon). The INOUI are pretty prompt but I’m not familiar with Strasbourg statation. Is this too tight? There are no later trains if I take this route!
We will be based in Florence, Italy for 14 days and want to go to a few other cities for a day or two. Thinking about Vienna, Venice and Paris or Munich. We want to know the best way to get to them by train.
We will be flying into Frankfurt 7/6/2024next day to Paristhen on to Florence And final place Romewhat would be the best way to travel Thank you
Hello, I want to ask you about a reservation on SNCB international.I made a reservation of 2nd class seat as eurail pass holder on SNCB international. Although I have a 2nd class pass, I mistakenly chose 1st class pass holder. I think it isn’t so serious problem because I’m a 2nd pass holder and I bought a 2nd class seat. However, I want to make sure it’s okay or not.
How far advance can seat reservation can be made for SNCF/TGV train from Switzerland (Basel or Zurich) or Strasbourg to Paris?? We are planning to travel at the end of May. Currently not too many options showing on SNCF website, and on Eurail website, all show Pass not Valid, I understand it is too soon to make a seat reservation, but can anyone help me with the timeline please ?? Thanks so much
I'm a Eurail 2nd pass customer and I'm creating my journey, but on my way from Schiphol to Brussels Midi it appears that I need supplements.I want to take the regional train trip at 8:43 on February 18, 2023.Should I do something with this add-in or is it a mistake?Do I need to pay something? Just add it to my journey? Do I need to buy something at the train station?
Why can’t I find a train via global europass from Venice to Milan and Milan to Locarno
I discovered a train journey listed on the Rail Planner App, departing from Muenchen Hbf and arriving at Heidelberg Hbf, scheduled for 07:46 - 10:44. However, I couldn't find this particular train in the Seat Reservation System. Can I use my Eurail Pass for this journey?
Hello, I am planning on travelling to several destinations in Europe beginning in February. I purchased a 2 month, 10 day travel pass. I just reserved my seats to go from Milan to Bern, and I received an email providing me with a QR code. I have also connected my pass to the Rail Planner app. To my understanding, once I click the button on one of my selected journeys, I will be given another QR code under the “passes” section of the app. Is this QR to use one of my 10 days of travel? do I need both QR codes to board the train, or only the one from booking my reservation?
3 of us have bought passes individually but want to access our trip from different mobile devices is this possible or do we all need to be logged into the same account?
