To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more

I can't see this particularly query answered. We've got a 22day pass and will be travelling in June from the UK from Stockport to London Euston & then the Eurostar to Brussels. We can book the Eurostar now but not from home to London as those tickets / train times will not be known till March. Will there be any issue adding that uk journey later (same problem on the way home) or will i have used up my inbound / outbound trips? TIA
Are all trains between Interlaken-Grindlewald-Lauterbrunnen-Interlaken included in the pass? If i use the pass to travel between these stations would it count as 1 day of travel? I will be staying in Grindlewald and exploring surrounding areas only and not sure if i should use my pass or hire a car which is going to be around £500 including petrol+parking etc.thanks
Hi,I bought several Interrail passes and I see only one Order Number in the e-mail (or here at eurail.com) and four Pass numbers. For booking Frecciarossa reservations at https://partners.italiarail.com I need the Order Number for each pass of each traveller, not just one.In the past I could find a link to a site on this website that did the conversion for each Pass number but I can’t find it any more.Does this still work like that?Note that this is horrible in terms of user friendliness, both on the side of Eurail (just provide it if anyone could ever ask it) and on the side of ItaliaRail. Hopefully there is a better way to get my Frecciarossa reservations, but I could not find any yet…TIA!--ReindeR ItaliaRail screenshot
So here is the problem. I am planning to get an Interrail ticket for 2 months in a row. I want to make multiple trips starting from my home country, the Netherlands. The ticket only got 2 inbound/outbound journeys. So that is only for one trip. For the other trips I would have to get a train ticket to a first station across the border, I learned today. For me it is also an option to drive to a station close to the border in Belgium (or Germany), park my car there, to start a journey at that station. That is often cheaper than getting a ticket for the first station abroad. For example, I start my journey in Essen (Belgium). The first station in Belgium on the Roosendaal to Antwerp line. It is a 125 km return drive for me, so roughly 20 euro in costs with the car. With public transport it would be 35 euro return. This is the starting point of my journey in the Netherlands, by car or public transport. My question for the community: does someone have experience with the same "problem”? If y
Hello everybody, i booked a night train from Hambourg to Stockholm on january 20th on the SJ website. While my booking is well confirmed on SJ, when I try to check out for the traffic info on this train line, i get the followint message: There are no departing trains from Hamburg on 2024-01-20. Please try another date. Even when i try other dates i get the same message. Does anyone know how to get traffic info on this please ? I also tried to check that out on DB but same :( Thanks !Rosa
I wish to request Upper Deck seats for our Lyria Train from Geneva to Paris. Is this possible?
I can't make a reservation because the stations in Serbia and Montenegro are not listed, but can I make a reservation for a train by going to the station counter and showing my pass?
Hi Interrailers! My wife was given a 2-month global pass as a great retirement present, for herself and me. I’m still working, however, and taking two months off is a little tricky. So we were looking at the possibility of exchanging it for a one-month pass. Trouble is, it seems that the existing pass would be refunded - to the credit card of my wife’s former employer, which would be very awkward. For my wife, that’s a clear no-no.I was wondering, if i purchased a more expensive package, could i simply pay the extra, and avoid the refund? Does anyone happen to know? Thanks in advance,Badger
1.I already bought Eurail Italy Pass. if i choose a station Chiasso(Switzerland) to Milano Centrale can i use this pass without pay? (from Switzterland i also have Swiss pass).2. I try to use planner in eurail app, I choose Chiasso to Milano Centrale (use filter " pass network only") and they show timetable that I can select, is it can use my eurail Italy pass?
We are planning to travel from Paris to Milan on June 3rd. We were originally going to travel from Paris directly to Rome, but with the landslide that is impacting train travel on this route, we decided to overnight in Milan, and then continue to Rome the next day. I’ve seen that by the time we travel, there will be a 'direct' route that includes a bus, but we'd prefer to travel by train the entire route. We’ve seen the recommendation on this site to travel from Paris to Zurich and then Zurich to Milan. We want the fastest route, and since it’s a special vacation, are happy to reserve and pay for business class. My question: when I try to book this route, it doesn't appear that all of the trains are available to book yet - is this correct? We are trying to balance booking early enough to get the seats and timing we’d like, but fear booking too early and missing more desirable trains that may not be scheduled yet. We had heard that booking 4-6 months out would be ideal, is this correct? An
Hi,I'm from Belgium and want to buy an interrail pass traveling 4 days in a month. Can I visit the UK and come back, and then do the same thing for a second time with this pass? Thanks already
Hi! I'm trying to book a Nightjet from Stuttgart to Venice on April 9, leaving Stuttgart at 20.29, but it seems to be impossible to book this nightjet on OEBB via ‘Seat reservation only’, wheras normal tickets can be booked. Can anyone help me, how to I book this train?Kind regards,Henk-Jan
I haven’t used Eurail since 1998! Are all routes included? I’d like to travel from Venice to Orta San Giulio to Zermatt. also wondering about British rail as I’ll be travelling between family members
Agradeço demais quem puder me ajudar. Estou analisando a vantagem de adquirir o Eurail Pass Global. Irei passar 45 dias na Eurooa fazendo o percurso abaixo: Paris - Luxemburgo - Lucerna -Zurich - Spiez (Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen) - Milão - Genebra - Lyon - Barcelona - Madri - Lisboa - Coimbra (irei me fixar 15 dias por lá, porém pretendo ir em Porto e Fátima)O Pass Global cobre todos esses lugares? é vantagem?
Folks, can I use the Interrail Pass EURO 2024 to travel around Europe during the euros like a normal inter rail pass. Or am I limited to coming to and from my home country and travelling within germany? Help appreciated
Hi there, We are new to Eurorail using a mobile app or the website. We purchased two Global passes (15 days over 2 months) which are meant to be linked in the Trip plan.We have been able to reserve seats for Brussels to London (Eurostar website) but have had no joy in trying to book seats elsewhere via Eurorail website. We are spending most of our time in Spain (3 weeks), and then traveling via Lyon and Brussels to the Netherlands.Trying to reserve seats for trains in Spain online is impossible even when it is within 90 days of travel. Do we have to resort to reserving seats a few days before travel at the local train station and therefore try potluck as to availability. How does this work with the organising our trip planner. From looking at other posts it seems that Spain is a difficult Eurorail destination. All our hotels are prebooked so it is near impossible to change our holiday. Thanks in advance for some help.Michelle
Hi,I’m from Autralia and looking at train travel in the July 2024 period in Switzerland, Italy and France. On some routes that I’ve searched in the timetable through Italy and France (Riviera to Paris), there’s no train routes coming up. For example, Geneva to Milan shows nothing at all, even the trains that don’t need a seat reservation. Are all the reserved seat trains sold out? Maybe because of the Olympics? Is it possible to have your Eurrail pass with you and get on a train that doesn’t need a reservation on the day of travel assuming they’re running? Thanks
I’m a NZ & UK dual citizen currently living in Canada. I did Interrail back in 2013 when I lived in London, and from what I remember I couldn’t use it for train journeys WITHIN the UK, but I flew to Denmark and went via Switzerland to Spain anyway so it didn’t matter. This time I’m planning to fly in/out of London and want to do mostly slow travel to get around - bike/ train/ ferry. I want to take a couple trains within the UK/ Ireland probably and then over to mainland Europe + across to probably Eastern Germany/ Denmark/ Sweden. Does the restriction of travel in your “home nation” still apply? Would it be best for me to get Interrail using my UK passport + sister’s address, or Eurail using my NZ passport + Canadian address? Also, if anyone has done interrail/eurail with a bike please give me tips. The Chatbot said to check the linked schedule for bike options and then linked me to a Deutschbahn page. It also said I need to “buy a separate ticket” for my bike but I don’t remember ev
Hello everyone, This spring i would like to visit France with Interrail. Previous Interrail I booked my reservations in the Eurrail app that was easy to do but I can't choose my seats. Does someone know a website where you can choose your seat in the reservation (window) ? I am looking for the following trains: Eurostar: Rotterdam CS - Paris NordTGV: Paris Montparnasse - Toulouse MatabiauTGV: Marseille - Bruxelles Midi Greetings & Thanks in advance
My plan is to make this journey by yrain: Alicante, Barcelona, Paris, Eurostar, London, Leeds. Two questions:You can't use a Eurail pass in your country of residence, in my case Spain, but you are allowed one day " para la salida". Does this mean that as long as I get to France on the first day, I'll be Ok? Can I use the Eurail pass easily in the UK? And what about Eurostar?Anyone with answers will uave my deepest gratitude!Steve Green
I am trying to book some private compartments for my hubby and I to travel. I noticed on several sites, they say you can reserve 180 days in advance. But when i go look, that’s only for basic seats. Couchette/private compartments seem to be only available much much closer to the date. Is there some trick around this?I am trying to book various euronight and nightjet trains between vienna > warsaw > prague
At the moment it is not possible to book a reservation for the snalltaget night train online. So the instructions on interrail.eu are no help at the moment.Instead you can only book the reservation by calling the costumer service:Tel: 0046-40-669 62 00 (landline of Malmö)opening hours: 09-12 and 14-16 o'clock Have your laptop (or similar) on hand (to make the payment while the costumer service was still on the phone, to make sure it works)For the Reservation you need the full names, birthday and nationality of each passenger, your phonenumber and your emailadresspayment was possible by creditcard or paypal. They guided me through the reservation process very kindly! Also I waited only few minutes until I got through the waiting line. great experience!
We are looking to book the night train from Paris Austerlitz to Cerbere in April. I know the schedule isn’t released yet and I don’t think you can make bookings, so I’m testing the booking system out for earlier dates in February. So I’m looking at 09 Feb, 20:08, arriving about 10am next day, direct train, for 2 adults and 1 child (2 years old). Using SNCF or Traline I can see that private couchettes are possible for that route, but obviously I don’t want to book on there, I want to book through Eurrail. When I try and make a seat reservation with Eurail, there is no option for a private cabin upgrade, and also on SNCB there is no option for an upgrade. Does anyone know if there is any option on any website to make an Eurrail booking with private couchette, or do I have to persist with SNCF over the phone?
I have added a journey to My Trips that comrises 3 trains in one day: Perpignan to Lyon Part Dieu (with the Spanish, AVE service), Lyon PD to Lille Europe (TGV), Lille Europe to London (Eurostar) (all on the same day). I have booked a paid for reservations for the last 2 sections, but found that it’s difficult to book the first one (it’s with AVE Renfe). I don’t want to delete the whole journey because of the 2 bookings I’ve paid for. I found an alternative to the first section, using TGV which is easy to book. Can I add that (Perpignan to Lyon with TGV) to My Trip and use that instead of the Perpignan to Lyon AVE? If I don’t use the Perpignan to Lyon AVE, will the next 2 sections in that ‘journey’ be invalid even though I have the reservations? This is my first Eurail experience. I have a lot to learn!
Hello, we have a group of 4 travelling together. We all bought eurail passes and are starting in rome, with the first trip a day trip to Salerno and back same day. I’m confused as to do I book this trip on the web, or in the rail planner app, and how do I confirm to the conductor we have a valid trip. This is also a high speed train so I need to make a reservation also. Thank you very much!!
