Get ready to travel

I have just tried to see if I can figure out how to book a trip and I’m after a little guidance as to whether this is the easiest way, and what i am doing wrong. First I went to Google Maps and plotted from my hotel address to my next hotel address, selecting the train option. Google tells me how far to walk to the nearest train station, which station that is, the path by train and the distance I need to walk at the other end.Then I went to bahn.de and punched in the two train locations that Google gave me, entered other criteria and did a search. In my case, it didn’t come up with any results, likely because the timetables aren’t released yet (December 10 I believe). After a little experimenting I got some results, however I don’t think Rome to Florence is 21 hours given I selected Show fastest connection. Clearly I am doing something wrong.  Any suggestions please

I am currently on a trip, on the train, and all details have dropped off the app.It was working an hour ago, and now just says "add trip'" and "add pass". If I try to re add my lass it says already on this device.How to solve??

I’m trying to book seat reservation from Ghent Belgium to Antwerp 4 January. It appears available when I select this departure timeyet when i hit ‘continue’ I get the following messageand then I hit back button and get this messageSo this seems that the train is fully booked??thank you

Dear forum members, when i try to plan my trip to Istanbul from Leeuwaren ( the netherlands ) i see a stopover in Sofia of 22 hours.. i can,t plan the route over Videle to Halkali ( istanbul ).. the app only direct me over Sofia..What to do, maybe someone can help. 

I am looking at travelling by train from my home in UK to Portsmouth (UK) to catch a ferry to Spain. The ferry would leave UK  on the evening of the day I set off from home and arrive in Spain the following day.I would then travel in Spain and Portugal on the train using my Interrail pass. My return journey would be the same in reverse. Could I use my Interrail pass for these rail journeys in the UK even though I will be leaving / returning to UK on a ferry, not by train (such as Eurostar) ?Many thanks Bob

bonjour, nous sommes en train de préparer notre voyage en février vers Kiruna.mais a chaque réservation de couchette un message d’erreur se produit et bloque notre reservation. nous avons essayé de réserver chacun de notre coté, mais rien n’y fait ! hello, we are planning our trip to Kiruna in February.but with each berth reservation an error message occurs and blocks our reservation. we tried to book each on our own, but nothing worked!

Hello Inter/Eurail community,I am posting this from a train that is currently traveling from Vienna to Dortmund. I just found out (purely by chance, as the rail planner app doesn’t show this), that the train I was supposed to take from Stuttgart Hbf to Bruxelles Midi runs only until Köln due to a strike. On the Deutsche Bahn website it says that there will be 4 replacement buses from Köln Hbf to Bruxelles Midi without any stops. Apparently these buses are a service by Univers Reisen but I can not find any information about them, no timetables, ticket costs, anything.I have two questions. Firstly, is this because these replacement buses are only meant for people being affected by this now interrupted connection? Secondly, is my global pass still valid on these replacement buses, and if so how do I add them to my pass since I don’t even know the times (yet).There is an alternative route that requires me to take 4 additional connections, something I would like to avoid if I can.Thanks!

Hi, I understand that I can travel outbound and inbound in my home country. In my case I would have to take a big detour to be able to reach the border of my country by train. Would that be problematic?And would I have to cross the border on the outbound day? Or could I also travel to the border and buy an ordinairy ticket to cross the border the next day?

Hello, I have question about the manual reservation for an interrail ticket.I have 7 travel days for one month and some journeys are not shown, so I have to do it manual. And at the end, it is not shown on the map. Furthermore, I do not know which train I need to take because if you make the reservation manual, the app does not show which train you should take. I do not know what I need to do and if the manual ticket would be valid. Did someone has a scandinavian journey with the interrail ticket? Has anyone any experience of taking a folding bike on a trip? i’ve booked a 15 day continuous ticket in february.. i don’t have a plan so any recommendations welcome. many thanks

Hello!I am unable to book a train from Milan to Tirano on our Global Pass on this site. It is only showing trips of 7 hours via Switzerland with numerous stops. But when I go to Rail Europe, there are direct trains from Milan to Tirano (2.5 hours). Why can’t I see this direct train on the Eurail site?I don’t want to book on Rail Europe and get charged as we have the Global Pass and travelling within Italy should be freePlease adviseTania 

Hi everyone,My family (2 adults, 2 children) and I already have Eurail passes but unfortunately I’m not an experienced Eurail traveller, so I apologise in advance if this is a silly question. We have already purchased and activated the Eurail pass for two days of travel earlier in December.We will be travelling from Vienna (Wien) to Prague (Praha) on Saturday 30 December 2023, preferably leaving around 10am. From what I can see, most of the trips listed on that day have “Reservations unavailable”. My question is: can we just go to the train station on the day and use our Eurail passes to book whatever seats are available, or does this mean that there are no seats available on those trains anymore?Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!Kind regards,Rob

Hi do you need to buy reservations everything you travel from London St Pancres to Europe and back. And how far in advance can you book. Also if I buy a pass does my membership start when I book my first journey kenny

no problem to find trains from Tropea to Villa San Giovanni and from Messina Maritime to Palermo. But when I try to book a ticket for a passenger on the ferry between Villa San Giovanni to Messina Maritime, I get constantly for all ferries “a  fully booked” reject?? From early in the morning till late in the evening, on working days and during weekends. Can somebody explain to me whether it is necessary to make a reservation on those ferries? Is capacity on those ferries a regular problem? 

It's similar to the address where I live, but it's not completely accurate, so is there a way to revise it again and get the reservation confirmed

I have a trip starting in 10 days.  The guide says try to book trips weeks in advance.  My pass activated starting on travel day.  I keep trying to schedule my trains to get my ticket on app and keep getting “Sorry we don’t have train times for these dates yet -...”.  It seems they only have times for about five days out right now (Germany).  Has anyone else navigated this issue and what did you do?  The recommendation and the capability of the app are at odds.  The app is also very buggy (crap) and there does not appear to be good clear consistent guidance and no support.I don’t mind doing it at at station while traveling but I’m hearting the trains are really full this year and if i dont get a reservation early i may not have a seat.  traveling with 4 people through 3 countries (Germany, Austria and Czech Republic) between Dec 12 and Jan 1 with 4 people.  Have Global ticket 1st class 5 days.

Hi,Received this today and apparently I'm not the only one. This is a big communication error, is there are a plan to send a correction email ? @Camilo. @Mukhammad My passes are not expiring any time soon.- bought in January 2023, used in July-August- bought in November 2023, not yet activatedI'm sure this will confuse a lot of people who might opt for a refund right away. 

I’m trying to identify the best way to get from Florence to Lugano in Switzerland at the end of May 2024 utilising our Global Pass. Using the Eurail trip planner it takes almost 8 hours to complete the journey. The planner takes us on a magical mystery tour via Milan, Domodossola and then Locarno before Lugano. Using the Orario Treni app it takes exactly half the time via Bologna, Milan and then direct to Lugano. The problem with the Eurail planner appears to be the leg from Milan to Lugano. What am I doing wrong?

how do you select and pay for seat bookings on your web site

Hello! I have 3 first names on my passport, one of which is a middle name (mothers maiden last name). As the first name box when getting the passes has a character limit of 20, I couldn’t fit all of it. Would that become an issue with identification purposes boarding the train?Thank you

Today is Dec 2. I need to reserve Jan 4. Calendar will not move. Help please
