Hello, I would be interested in knowing how much a berth costs on the night interrail? I say this because it says that a bunk bed is in a 4-seater compartment: it is €41, and I don't know if that is a bunk bed or 4 bunk beds.Besides, it says that with the reservation of the first class seat you get a bunk, and I don't know if that's the case, why then for €5 do I get a bunk for myself?
Just a few questions for an upcoming trip with a couple of kids…what’s the difference between when a trip says “you’re ready to board” and “you’re ready to board. You can purchase a reservation if you’d like”? we have a few trips with train changes. I’d like to add the whole trip to my eurail app. Is there a way to do that or do I have to pull up each trip individually? I’ve purchased reservations for the ones required, but they don’t show up in “my trip” for some reason. They are under ‘my reservations” is there a place to see what terminals the tickets are associated with? I’ll be with two little kids and some of these transfers are quick. I don’t think we’re going to use all the days I purchased the pass for. Is there a way to downgrade without affecting my reservations? Thanks!
Hello!I live in Switzerland and we'll be travelling in France for a few days. I would like to come back to Switzerland via Geneva, taking a train from Lyon to Geneva, operated by SNCF. The Geneva train station includes official french borders within the train station. Can I use a one-country France pass for my trip or should I buy a Global pass? Many thanks for your help, and safe travels!
Is there a way to contact (call/mail) the customer service without having a twitter or facebook account?
No Seat Reservation required? this is the most common thing i saw whilst i trying to reserve my seat from london to Oxford, from London to Bristol and Bath and from Interlaken to geneve. Hence is it mean that, i not need to reserve the seat but i am allow to board the train ?
can I use a global pass to travel around the UK if I live in the UK, but want to go on a rail tour?
We are travelling from Wolverhampton to Berlin in September and want to know if we will be able to use our passes to travel to London Euston from Wolverhampton before joining the Eurostar at St Pancras. We have already reserved our seats on the Eurostar.I have called National rail enquiries and they said you cannot use the global pass in your country of residence?Andy
Hello. I see there are lots of people asking about seat reservations, although most are travelling in continental Europe. I recently completed an 8-day First Class UK-only Interrail trip and I’d like to share my experiences. Basically, in the UK, despite what the app. says you DO NOT need seat reservations for most trains, even long-distance expresses, apart for the exceptions I’ll list below. There seems to be some inconsistency within the app/website itself where the Rail Planner says reservations ARE ‘required’ for just about everything but local trains and yet the help section says they are merely ‘recommended’. I see that as a cash-grab by Interrail - trying to sell those reservations at 6 Euro a shot through their own portal. The exceptions are:Eurostar (obviously). The two overnight sleeper services to/from London (GWR to Penzance and Caledonian Sleeper to Scotland) where seat reservations are mandatory, even in the seated coaches.LNER. Here, seat reservations ARE required
Hello everyone, I am a student in Germany and my parents are going to visit me in Germany and some family in UK. They also want to visit Paris and maybe Switzerland. This is a temporary itinerary They are coming from India and they arrive and depart in UK. Day 1: Travel from London to Paris (via Eurostar)Day 2: Travel from Paris to StuttgartDay 4: Visit to Switzerland Day 7: Travel back to London (Stuttgart to Paris to London) It is a short trip, but i have some questions. Is Eurostar covered under the Global pass? Are regional (undergroudn and metro in Germany) trains covered under this? can they travel inside the city without taking another city ticket? As a student in Germany, can I also use the EU rail pass? If someone knows the answers to this, please help me out. Thank you very much
Hello community, just one question. Is it possible to board a train that requires a seat reservation even without a reservation? The latter secures a seat or bed, but I would be fine with standing. is it possible to even just stand on the train, or do they really not let me on if I haven't made a reservation? Thank you!
The validity of my pass starts on 9 June and runs till 8 Jul, I have not used it yet. However it shows Travel days 3 / 4 left. How does it see I have travelled already ? I also have not activated it yet.
(ENG)Hello everyone, Yesterday I took my train from Ventimiglia (Italy) to Nice (France). The train was about twenty minutes late, which meant I missed my train from Nice to Paris. An INOUI train that had cost me €22 including tax. So I took another train via Interrail, which also cost me €22. I want a refund for my first Nice-Paris train. However, when I went to the station ticket office, I was told that I had to request my refund on
I am trying to book in a train on Sunday 29th Oct from Rotterdam (Netherlands) to Paris. There is no seats available when I search through the Rail Planner app but when I search through Eurostar directly, it is showing tickets available on the 10:14am service. I can book directly through Eurostar but I have a Global pass that I have paid for and want to use. is there any way of booking that time with my global pass? It seems the brussels-Paris leg of the trip is the one without available seats, any alternatives to get to Paris on Sunday would be appreciated.
Dear Eurail Experienced Users,We are as 2 adults + 2kids are planning to visit Paris Disneyland and than travel to Switzerland in the beginning of early November. This is the first time when are going to use trains across Europe and we want to make sure that our plan is valid and will not bring any issues. The plan is to purchase 2 day one country Eurail pass for France and Swiss Pass to cover all our movements across Switzerland:5th of November move from Marne de Vile (Disneyland) to Lyon for short day visit. Same day we will take train from Lyon to Geneva. Then we are going to spend 5 days in Switzerland .12th of November travel from Zurich to Paris to take our flight back home.We did a math and looks like that purchasing Eurail France one country pass is cheaper than buying individual tickets as we didn’t book anything in advance. But the question is - will Eurail pass +Swiss Pass two together cover our train movements from Lyon to Geneva and from Zurich to Paris? If yes, how the pro
I wasn’t aware of how limited the seats were and did not book the reservation. I tried to book today for this Sunday 29th but was surprised to find out it was full. I need to get back to London to fly back home. I am very desperate, can someone please provide me any suggestions? Will they take any foot passengers? or anyone please suggest alternative routes to get me to london by the latest the 31st?
My husband and I, along with 2 of our friends are planning a trip to Italy and other countries in December. Our route would look like this:Venice- ViennaVienna- Salzburg (round trip)Vienna- BudapestBudapest- PraguePrague- Rome (considering an overnight train)I was wondering if it makes sense to take a Eurail pass or book single point to point tickets? Also would my pass be valid on any and every train that goes between these countries. Would appreciate suggestions on the above, since in some instances I am still not able to see a timetable which makes buying tickets impossible this early on.
We are trying to go from Salzburg Hbf (Austria) to Heidelberg Hbf (Germany) on November 25th, using our multi-day Eurail passes; I was looking through the costs of buying reservations because someone mentioned it is nice to have so you have a guaranteed seat, and then I noticed our original planned train (nonstop leaving at 2pm) wasn't showing up anymore on my app; I then updated the app and searched that route again and that train was no longer listed, I am guessing it was cancelled? Anyway, now I am getting super paranoid about our train rides because I guess as this is the low season, they occasionally cancel trains? I have never had this happen before, but maybe because I would just book trains right before leaving.Anyway, sorry for the long question, but I found a new train showing up on my Eurail app from Salzburg to Heidelberg (13:00-17:34; 13:00 Salzburg to Muenchen Hbf on RJX 60, 14:28 Meunchen to Mannheim, ICE 914, and then 17:23 Mannheim to Heidelberg on IC 2046).Are you see
Hi everyone, I am Ludovic, and I would like to visit Germany next week. I got a pass France Germany but I haven’t received the password to connect with my pass. I don’t know who could I reach out to know what should I do. I would be happy if someone can assist me. Best,
Hi, could anyone tell me if eurail pass covers train ride from Mannheim to Heidelberg? Is it considered as an intercity ride?
Hello,I’m very confused.I bought a UK One Country Pass and successfully made seat reservations for the Eurostar. Now I read on several websites only a Global Pass can travel with Eurostar. Should I worry? Will the train attendant check my pass and make me pay the full price for the ride, even when I successfully made a reservation with the pass? Also confused about the possibility of swapping to a Global Pass → is this even possible with a booked reservation linked to my current pass? Many thanks for the help, quite panicking right now 😅
Is it possible to do different trips (use different tickets) on one travel day? So I would like to use only one of my travel days but use different tickets (so maybe get out in a city for a few hours and then continue… Is this possible? or does this count then as another travel day even if its the same day?
Hi all, Feeling a bit frustrated here. I’ve been trying to get trains tickets for after Dec 10th. Apparently the times were just downloaded yesterday. I was only able to get one purchase through. All of the rest are not going through. Getting error message with no explanation. Try later… Is this normal? This platform is not overly user friendly, Thanks for any advice.
I just want to Start my Next Trip from Milano to Basel. As I have no InternetConnection in Switzerland, I habe connected also the trip von Basel to Essen, which is my last one. Now my Ticket is no longer visablr. And I do not find a possibility to contect interrail. Kerstin
