Get ready to travel

Two of us are taking a day trip on our first class Eurail passes today, Oct. 13, 2023 from Ghent to Cologne.  The segment from Brussels Zuid (Midi) to Cologne is showing as “seat reservations not required” and the Eurail site is showing that I can reserve seats for a fee.   I went to OBB and tried to reserve seats, but it is showing that no seats are available for reservation on the 10:25 train to Cologne. We need to come back on the Cologne to Midi train at 17:51 and I haven’t checked yet for seat reservations on OBB, but would like to make them I can.  If OBB is saying I can’t reserve seats, does that mean seats are full or does that mean that they just do not handle the reservation?    Thank you.

Hella, I’m travelling (family of 4) from UK to south of France next May, Saturday 25th. I can see there are tickets from London to Lille and Paris available to book seats now, the train I’d ideally like is the 11.04am from London to Lille. This train is on every Saturday basically until the 25th May when it disappears from the schedule. My question is therefore:Do I wait and hope this 11.04 London to Lille train will be included on the schedule closer to the time? Or, do I book one of the other ones in case the spaces sell out. The alternative one that works for us time-wise is the 12.31 London to Paris.I’d prefer the Lille 11.04 as the timings are better. I’m conscious that this Saturday is the start of the half term holiday in UK and a Bank Holiday Monday so it might be a busier weekend to travel on that those either side of it. Thanks for any advice.

Hello Dear, I need ro change eurial global pass from 5 to 7 days Should buy the 7 days one then refund the 5 days or can I exchange it immediately and pay the difference? Thanks 

Hiya, I’m new to interrailing, this might sound like a really silly question but if I book a standard sleeper car for me and my girlfriend on the OBB Nightjet, will someone else be able to book the other bunk? Or do I need to book the deluxe one instead?As on the final booking page it says that there is the potential that someone else could book it. However on other messages and support websites it says that if 2 people book for the same room then no one else can book the 3rd bed? Or am i just majorly overcomplicating it? Thanks!

Hello, I plan on travelling from Germany to France on the first travel day via Basel SBB. I read on the official page that normally it would only be possible to really travel in Germany and France only without crossing a border.On the other hand I have read in this forum that Basel SBB should be fine as it is directly at the border of both countries and the operating trains are French or German. Can someone please tell me which version is true?Basel SBB just seems to be the easiest way for me, I dont want to go all the way north to Francfort just to cross the French-German border… Thanks in advance!

I planned a trip, adding my husband as a traveling companion.  The trip and reservations are on my mobile app.  How does my husband access that trip and add it to the mobile pass (Rail planner) on his phone ?

Planned trip below. Does anyone know if a Eurail Pass covers the train part of the London to Dublin (Sail/Rail) leg? Not counting that portion, I loosely priced out individual tickets and think it comes in at about $355. Looks like 8 travel days - would a pass be better? Cómo registrar trenes con Rail Planet antes de abordar un tren si planifico el viaje con Bahn.com o con DBNvigator?????

Entro en la aplicación Rail Planner y me anuncia que para el 3 de enero de 2024 todavía no hay horarios.Sin embargo entro en página de los trenes alemanes DB y si puedo solicitar la reserva de asientos para esa fecha de enero del año 2024.Reservar asiento directamente con DB antes de planificar el viaje desde Rail Planner es posible??????

Haven't paid for our Eurail pass yet (still deciding which one is best for our trip)However, on the app, it is not yet showing any available bookings after 10th DecemberWhen should we expect these to be available/ thanks

Hello all,On 18 October I'll take the NightJet from Vienna to Arnhem (and after then with the intercity Arnhem-Nijmegen), my homestay-country is The Netherlands. I don't want to spoil my inbound-trip for just 18 km (Emmerich(Gr)-Arnhem) and after then buying a full price ticket Arnhem-Nijmegen. DB and NS-International sells tickets with BahnCard 100, very handy for buying-tickets without having to pay for the German part, (not official, but CIV shouldn't have abandoned the possibility to sell tickets from and to the border.ÖBB sells Reservations with Teilgültigkeit, (but not online, so only optional if you live in Austria, or not so far-away from the Austrian border). How could I solve this? Buying a ticket Emmerich(Gr)-Nijmegen, or sending a mail to ÖBB for an option? Are here Dutch travellers who have had the same problem like me and which solution did they have found? And how much will a Reservation with ‘Teilgültigkeit cost more). Does someone have such ticket and could he/she put

Hi, I’m new to this Interrail thing, and I hope my question is not too stupid 😉I plan to do two trips with my two month global pass, so I won’t have any outbound and inbound trips left for the second trip. But here’s the thing: I’d like to finish the second trip with a night train journey to my home country. The destination of the night train is also my final destination, so there is no need to take an extra travel day for the inbound journey as described here.Is there a chance the app will accept this trip home as a “normal travel day”, or do I need to buy a regular ticket for this night train journey?

Hi, I’ll take the nightjet to Wels Hbf and in the morning I have to change trains to Salzburg around 7.30 in the morning. This takes 2 traveldays, while I thought it would be seen as one. If so, how can I change this? Thanks for your help.

I take the nightjet to Wels without an in/outbound. So I will start my travel at Emmerich (Germany).But Emmerich is not a stop so I can not check out (I do have a Dutch OV chipcard with discount).How does this work?thanks.

Hello, We are trying to buy a global pass and not sure if we should use it for  ferry rides in Interlaken or just pay out of pocket and not waste a travel date on the pass.

Buenas noches estoy intentado reservar asientos desde Lisboa a Madrid pero me dicen que no es posible reservar asientos, mi duda es para viajar debo hacer la reserva de asientos, donde la debo ejecutar? y tambien hay una parada en españa con escala de 10 minutos en Badajoz que tambien me solicitan hacer compra de asientos, y en españa como podria hacer la reserva de dichos asientos con tan poca cantidad de minutos para hacer cambio? que me aconsejan 

Hello, I booked a Eurostar reservation with SNCB quite a few months ago.I paid €34 and that shows in my PayPal account.I just happened to check the email today and when I checked my ticket there were two reservations, both in my name and for different seats. They are both for same day too.There is also a total dossier value of €64.Only one ticket brings up a bar code.The reason I am asking about this here is to see if anyone else has experienced this phenomena of mystery tickets appearing.Also, I don't have access to my phone number ATM (well not unless I pay for a days roaming with my provider and I have a data eSIM) but the only way to contact SNCB on the app is by phone.Does anyone know another way to contact SNCB? I am tempted to just leave this and on the day declare I didn't book that second ticket but I'd hate to be told I have to pay for a seat, or something.

Hi everyone!  I have an inter rail pass and want to book a train (outbound) from Bordeaux to Cologne (route goes through Paris). I am not able to book the train through the app or the provided links for TGV etc.However, I can see the route on SNCF. How can I now make the reservation? thank you!isabella 

HelloI have a global Eurail pass. Tomorrow I have a train going to Paris from Barcelona Sants. I paid for a reservation to Nimes then train switch and another reservation to Paris airport.Change of plans,I need to go to Paris, Gare de Lyon station now. This would be via my first train that I have reserved to only Nimes. (It’s a direct train). Could I just stay on the train to gare de Lyon. I can change my Eurail ticket easily enough. Thx for any advice. 

I bought a seat reservation for the night train from Roma to Torino tonight. I saw there are still couchette beds available for reservation, and would love to make an upgrade. I just don’t know how to do it. Can I go to the station and ask for an upgrade to a couchette bed? Would it be possible to upgrade inside the train?There’s a strike affecting public transit in Rome today, so I doubt I’ll make it to the main station.Has anyone had any experience with this?Thanks in advance.

The tool is great, however I often end up calling SNCF for a long journey to change my seats! I wonder if it would be possible to bring in a seat selection tool, or perhaps bring in the ability to communicate preferences such as single, aisle, or window, like many European railways have on their client-facing systems. Are there any plans to introduce this in the future?
