Hey, I don’t succeed to book a reservation in the night train between Budapest and Praha (train at 10:13 pm). When I have to pay, it doesn’t work (with the application or website). And it’s not possible for tomorrow, in 2 Months, or in 6 months. Is there a problem with OBB ? Lore
Hello ! I recently came back home from a fantastic interrail trip in central Europe ! However I realized that I haven’t used all of my 7 days of travel during my trip (still one left). Furthermore, I’ve learned that this year Interrail is trying a new formula that gives 3 days of outbound/inbound journeys and I have used only two of them.As I need to go to Italy next week, I was wondering if someone knows wehther I can use my last day of travel (and my third day of inbound/outbound journey) to exit my country (Switzerland) and travel to my destination. Thank you for all ! :)
Hello this is a first time 18yr old traveller going with discovereu here. I have an Interrail pass. I am very lost about these reservation thing. So, when I check my DiscoverEU trip pass, it shows a train that goes from Halkalı(Istanbul) to Videle (Romania) from 20.00 to 16.18 but when i check the interrail.eu site i cant find this train. Also, even though i added my trip i had to manually choose every train, i hope that is correct. I will share my route here in case you guys need more information for helping me. I checked the Turkey rail website but there is no train to videle either. I am very lost about all of this and i really need help.
So I have a Eurail pass and intent to use it from mid-August of this year to mid-September. I see that (unsurprisingly) I need seat a seat reservation to take a night train from Augsburg Hbf to Budapest-Kelefoeld on Wednesday, September 6. The Eurail app says that a “Bed in Shared compartment” is 36 euros per person (reasonable). But the Eurail website that actually sells the reservations says $715 for a family of four (no where near 36 x 4 = $144).So I went directly to the rail company operating the train: “Euro Night”. The news is a bit better that to get a Couchette carriage Compartment” for all four of us it says 264 euros. That’s better than $715 of course, but no where in “Euro NIght” did I put my Eurail credentials, so I’m wondering if I am paying for the pass + seats. In other words, if Euro Night doesn’t ask for Eurail, what good is Eurail?Or am I missing something and there is a way to get it cheaper by just getting the seats (not the pass)?? I am already regretting a
I just bought my 8 day Danish Eurail pass, with the understanding that it would enable me to get discounted tickets on bus lines as well. But I do not see how to do this if everything has to be booked through the Rail Planner app. Any suggestions would be helpful!
Hi there !! planning my first Eurail/interrail journey and I'm unsure what pass to get -- I have an Irish passport, but I'm currently residing in the US and have no EU residency. I was planning on travelling on my Irish passport to avoid getting a visa but a lot of the FAQs say to purchase a pass accordance with your residency. please help! thanks!
Hi, i’m trying to understand the sub sytem of interail, for example for the WIen-Venezia, as you can see on my screen, I need to buy a Supplement.I’m not sure where i need to buy these. The interail site guide me to the OBB site, but i’m not even sure it’s the train i will take or if it’s the right things to buy.Can someone guide me in this dark side of eurail ? hahaThanks !
I’m looking to book a sleeper from Paris to Vienna in January. They aren’t loaded yet, but I was checking prices for sample dates in November but they all seem to be full already or not available. I did find one date in October, but then others referred to track works meaning the train wouldn’t run.Does anyone have info (or know where to check) on the track works? If they continue on into January this may be the end of that particular plan.
I booked a journey for my family from Milan to Paris just before the closure of the Gotthard Tunnel. We had to buy seat reservations for Milan-Basel and for Strasbourg-Paris. I’m now concerned that we will be delayed on the way to Basel and won’t be able to make our SNCF train from Strasbourg-Paris. I would like to change our Strasbourg-Paris train to a later one so that we don’t stress about making the connection or changing tickets on the day, but SNCF doesn’t seem to allow seat reservation changes. Does anyone know how we might be able to make a seat reservation change in advance of the journey? Thanks!
Hello, I have a europe trip planned out but am not sure what to do about two of the trains I am wanting to take. I leave Canada on September 6th (15 days away) and need the train reservations (that are delivered by post) for September 16th and September 19th. On the 16th I am planning on taking the Eurocity train from Berlin to Krakow and on the 19th I am planning on taking the Intercity night train from Krakow to Budapest. I will be at a hostel in Berlin from the 13th-16th of September. Should I send the tickets there? Or am I able to get the reservations a different way? Thanks a lot in advance.
Hello, I’ve searched for an answer to this and followed the advice given but have not been able to resolve the problem. I’m booked into accommodation in Strasbourg on 25th September and need to get from Lyon to Strasbourg that day.I’m just not able to reserve a seat on any of the sites I’ve looked. I can purchase tickets on some of the sites but not simply reserve seats. Obviously I don’t want to pay for tickets after already buying the Eurail Pass. Some trains are showing no tickets available (Rugby World Cup time) but if you are able to point me to how I can reserve pretty much any seats (need two) on a train that will get us to Strasbourg on that day I’d appreciate it greatly. We leave for Europe from Australia tomorrow!
Hey thereIf I was to travel from Amsterdam to Berlin, then from Berlin to Treviso/Italy...Then back to Amsterdam via Paris and Belgium- would it be worthwhile buying the Eurail Pass...We would need about 5 days on the train altogether...Would we need to reserve seats…? Are there trains going this route…? Can I purchase the pass when we arrive in Amsterdam…?We are doing this trip from 9 December to 30 December 2023 so do the trains run during this time…?Thank you for any help and advice...We are 2 adults...

I have travelled from Sweden down and around Europe but I want to go to Oslo now. But in doing that I would have to take the train through Sweden. Is that going to count as my Inbound journey or will I still have it.
Hi!I’m trying to plan my trip, but unfortunately the seat reservations system is a nightmare.I read the guides here, even the one from The man on seat 61, but it’s still not clear. I want to travel from Barcelona to Heidelberg on 2/9. There are several options, I would like to use the one that is 10:33 → 22:53. But I’m flexible, so I can change that to any of the other 3 options that arrive the same day.I’m trying to make a reservation at Interrail.eu .But all the options have an issue. The one I mentioned, doesn’t allow to book the train Paris Est - Mannheim. I read over here that this should be made by phone and they send it via post mail to your address? Will it arrive on time? Another option is 08:22 → 21:49. In this case, I can’t book Barcelona - Lyon, should I go to the train station and directly book there? But then in the same journey, I can’t book Paris - Karlsruhe. So what happens if I book Barcelona Lyon, only to find out that Paris - Karlsruhe is sold out? How do you go abou
Hiii, I'm going solo interrailing on Christmas to Paris, London and Amsterdam. What things i cannot miss??? And what can i do in Amsterdam because i'm not sure what to visit. Thank uuu
I bought the global pass for 2 months and I was wondering if I need to start from my country of residence or if I can travel somewhere else first and then start the trip from there. Thanks in advance for the help :)
Hello, We are traveling from Tirano to Chur with the eurail pass on a panoramic train without a reservation, hopeful to use the carriages that do not require reservations. Does anyone know how many carriages a regional train has? Perhaps slightly paranoid but how do we make sure we get a seat on a train without reserving the seats? Thanks!
Hi! My friend and I are currently planning a trip, and Eurail can be a bit overwhelming.I was just wondering if there is a train that gets us from Geneva to Lyon? I can’t seem to find any information on it.Thank you,Bella

Hi, I have lived in the UK for over 10 years with an indefinite leave to remain visa but I have a Japanese passport. I have been using the indefinite leave to remain visa to enter the UK and to prove my residence for the past decade at immigration. However I have seen some people say that I need some sort of European residence card to prove my residence and that the visa does not count. Is this true? The visa is the only evidence I have. Thanks in advance :)
Hello, do you know if I can have two Interrail Passes at the same time? I need a second pass for the next part of my travels. But during that time I am going back to Germany twice which means that I need one outbound and two inbound tickets. Is it possible to save one of my travel days of my first ticket to use ist for one of the inbound trips?
I have a paper pass, if I am using a train that doesn’t require a reservation, can I just board the train?
Hello I am planning a trip from Munich to Venice, then Florence, and finally back to Munich. To save money, I purchased an Interrail pass. When I tried to book seats using the Interrail website, I noticed that it costs more than 130 euros for 2 adults and one child under 7 for just a one-way journey from Florence to Munich. For the outbound travel, I managed to book a ticket using the DB website, which only cost me less than 9 euros. Now, I have a few questions:How can I book seats for my Interrail pass? Is there a specific website where I can book seats for my travel? Should I use the Interrail pass for traveling between Venice and Florence as well?I want to make the most cost-effective choices for my trip, so any advice or recommendations are welcome. Thank you!
