Can I travel from Bordeaux in my home country to London (via Lille or Paris) using international pass? Although doable in a day, because I need to change trains to get on the Eurostar, does this count as more than one trip within my home country ? ie the first trip (Bordeaux to Paris or Lille would not be to cross the border).
Hello! I am planning to visit Rome, Florence, Venice, Amsterdam and Paris. I want to train from Rome to Florence, Florence to Venice, then fly to Amsterdam and train from Amsterdam to Paris - all within one month. I am hoping someone can help me in which pass will work the best for me 😄 Thanks so much!
Travelling from Stroud UK to La Ciotat France in the last week of May 2024. Day 1 Fri 24th or Sat 25th MayStroud to LondonLondon to ParisParis to Marseille Marseille to La Ciotat Same return journey. As we’re not stopping at multiple locations other than to get connecting trains, do you think it would be cheaper to buy regular train tickets rather than an interrail pass (plus supplements for Eurostar and Paris to Marseille)? From my initial browse it looks equally costed as the Eurostar without interrail is expensive as is the Paris to Marseille leg. I’m drawn to the interrail pass as we used it for a longer trip this year and found it really easy to use. We’ll only be away for between 7-9 days. Our intention is to not fly. Any advice recommended.
I’m few weeks before travel . My first stop in Zurich airport and from there I take train to Zermatt . I have been in Switzerland many times but first time with Eurail GP . When should I put train time ? If I put in advance I could be late . And how to create planner on paper ? Thank you Natalie
New traveler here. Some friends and I are flying to Copenhagen in November. We want to also go to Sweden and Norway. It looks like the Scandinavia adult pass may be the way to go. Does this pass also let us take local trains (sorry for my lack of knowledge) or does it only permit travel between the countries. Also, if we are only traveling 5 out of 8 days would it be cheaper to buy train passes instead of the rail pass? THANKS!
Hi,We travel with 2 and have 2 Interail Global Passes.Question1: Is it better to have them on one Phone, to make reservations for 2 easier?Question2: And what if you loose that phone?Question3: Can you switch one or both Mobile Passes to another Phone, wjhile travelling?PS I read the related topic, but that was not appropriat to my questions.Hope to find answers here.Groeten, Thomas
Hello all, I have a query regarding my first class interrail ticket. The main reason I got a first class ticket was for long journeys. I have sciatica and it helps to have a bit more leg room. I thought it might also allow me to use lounges if I have a longer stay at a station. It's also such a small amount extra for first class (when already spending so much on a pass) that I thought "go on, spoil yourself".🫰I know some trains will not have first class and for short journeys I am fine sitting anywhere. I started my journey today, travelling from Vilnius to Kaunas for the day (I started my journey in Helsinki but decided to do the Baltics by bus and have an extra 10 days). On the journey to Kaunas I made the ticket and the guard scanned my QR code with no issues.Fast forward to the evening, and travelling back to Vilnius the guard questions why I am sat in second class with a first class ticket.Am I supposed to travel first class if there is a first class seating area? The train is less
Do I need to add the journey to the pass (by switching the yellow button on) on the RailPlanner app before I board the train?Because from past trips I have done this, but when the ticket inspector asks for my interrail pass, the app has not registered the journey and I have to do this procedure again before showing my ticket. The app has these constant bugs.My friend got a fine because of this? Is this a possibility?
I will be arriving in Spain September 21. Eurail says in order to get a seat reservation for a Spanish train that isn't available on their website, I need to go to a train station when I arrive in Spain or call the Renfe office. My questions are:1. I want to go from Granada to Ronda on the 29th and there is only one reasonable train per day (2 hrs. vs. 4½ hrs.). Is it highly likely that I will be able to get a seat reservation on that train on the 29th by going to the train station in Madrid on the 21st? 2. The Eurail website says: “Pre-reserving a seat is possible. You will receive a PNR code which you must use to pick up and pay for your reservation at a local station ticket office, making sure to show your Eurail Pass. After the booking, you must collect your reservation within 72 hours. The reservation can only be booked up to 24 hours before the train departure time. After this time the pre-reservation will expire." This makes no sense to me. How can I collect my reservation
Seat reservation for Francciarossa train ( Bologna - Firenze) are transferable to a later train in the same day in case of a delay? Thank you!
Thanks in advance for always being helpful. I have booked seat only reservations through DB and OBB directly for trains from Berlin to Prague, Munich to Salzburg and Salzburg to Zurich. Now I’m confused as to how to find our seats on these trains. I have receipts but they don’t list seats. Should they? I need to activate my Eurail pass and then add the train to our tickets I believe but then what? Any help with walking me through the process step by step would help ease this travel anxiety prone traveler!
Hi there i am buying a 10 day interrail global pass. I wanted to travel from London for example tomorrow via eurostar to Holland then return on the 28th, then i travel again on the 1st of September via eurostar to switzerland via france then return to London via eurostar before the 10th day? Is that permitted to tavel on the eurostar twice in August then September? Please i need genuine answers as have children with me thanks!
Dear Community, maybe someone knows… So we need to reserve seats for the EC from Bern to Milan, at least within Italy. When I enter Domodossola-Milano, it is 3 passengers x 12eur = total 36eur. Makes sense ;)When I enter Bern-Milan (since we don’t want to change seats in the middle of the trip) the price is 135eur!! Does that then include the ride itself - we don’t need a SBB ticket to Domodossola? We have half-fare-card and junior card for the child travelling, I believe the ride Bern-Domodossola isn’t worth 99eur. I tried booking just the reservation Bern-Milan via oebb and sbb, neither offers this... Thank you so much!!
I want to cancel my seat reservation because I changed plans. Is it possible ? (My reservation is tomorrow)
Hello! My mum and I are travelling through Europe this winter, starting in London and ending in Venice. We are spending christmas in Colmar, France and want to do some scenic railways for two/three days through Switzerland and then end in Venice. Are most of the scenic railways not covered by the Eurorail pass? Is it then worth getting the SwissTravel Pass? Does anyone have some recommendations on routes… All and any advice is appreciate
HelloComplete newbie here thx for all info. For an Oct 1 departure I reserved a Train from Rome to Milan departing at 11:10am and Milan to Ventimiglia departing at 15:10, final destination is Nice. I booked the reservations using the Eurail website. On the Eurail App my 11:10am departing train doesn’t exist, their is a train departing at 10:50am but the train numbers don’t match. The Milan to Ventimiglia is the same departure time. To cover my butt (on the App) I tried to reserve the train departing at 10:50am but it says no reservations available. Argh! What do I need to do? I would imagine I need that 11:10am train I reserved on the website in my Eurail Pass? A reservation alone isn’t good enough from what I have read? You need a Eurail Pass ticket as well.Thx for any help. Brian from Gibsons, B.C. Canada
The Intterail app explains that a supplement is required and that it is included in reservation. But when I go to make reservation there is no option to add supplement (unless I am missing something) and the reservation amount is not enough to include supplement. So is it really an option to pay the supplement through the app? And if not what is the best way to do this?
Hey, do you know if I can get on a long-distance train what is full and requires taking seats? In other words, if I don't have a seat, can I still get on and be on the ground?
We only have an online seat reservation and it’s unlikely that we’ll be able to get a paper copy before we board our train (in Spain). What will be the consequences for us when we show the ticket collector our reservations on our phone instead of paper? Eurail tells us they must be on paper but doesn’t say what will happen when we try and use the online ones.
Hi,I was going to book a seat from Zurich to Milan for the evening of September 8. Due to the closure of the tunnel on this route, I cannot make a reservation. How can I make a seat reservation to Zurich and Milan or which route should I take? Thanks.
Hello, I am wanting to book the Bernina Express on the 25th September 2023 from Lugano to St Moritz, however it says it is unavailable. I understand there is a section of the railway that is closed. Can someone please clarify what is available? Is there still a panoramic option? Many thanks!
Hi,I’m planning a trip from the UK to Italy and I was thinking to do London → Paris → Milan → Bologna but I can’t find any train on the 16th of December for Paris → Milan, the last day in which I can find a train is on the 9th of December.Does anyone know when they publish the rest of the timetable? It makes quite hard to plan and wait as I may need to go by flight instead if I can’t book a train and flights are getting expensive. It’s strange that Paris → Milan is the only route that I can’t book but everything else is there. Thanks
Good morning.I am completely new to Interrail and intend to purchase a Global / Mobile pass. I want to travel from my home in UK to Paris or Barcelona on the same day.Home to London St Pancras, and then London St Pancras to Paris or Barcelona, have to be booked separately. Will that arrangement still count both as only one travel day and my one allowed outward journey? I think that is the case but would value confirmation, or otherwise.I’d be doing the same in reverse on my return journey. Many thanks for any advice. Bob
I cannot book any reservations for trains from Budapest towards Istanbul. I am travelling in early Ocotober. Is this because I am trying to book them too far in advance
Hi everyone,I’m travelling with my elderly parents and noticed recently that trains from Zurich to Italy have changed route recently. Some of the trains now say reservation not required. I’m worried that we won’t be able to get a seat if you can’t reserve a seat on these trains. Is there a way to guarantee a seat on these trains? Please see below a screenshot for your reference. Also, the direct trains which say reservation required on the app then say on the reservation website that prices are unavailable- are these booked out? Thanks all!Waz
