I created my own account on interrail.eu and bought paper passes for me and my whife. As of yet she does not have an account. Does she for any reason need one?(I cannot think of any reason, but just want to make sure before we start our trip.)
if i plan my trip with the interrailplanner and i select my start and end destination directly i get a pass for less days. but if i select my start and end destination with the train stops i pay more. How to use the interrailplanner correctly?

We will travel to (Sweden and) Norway at the beginning of September. We are not yet 100% sure how long we want to stay in the Lofoten, so we are thinking about being spontaneous and reserving night train seats from Bodo to Oslo only a few days in advance.Considering September is not the main holiday season anymore, is it realistic to make the reservation that late and ideally also get sleeper places? Or do we need to make the reservations much more in advance? Any experience values?
I want to go beteende St Margrethen and Buchs, and find that there is a train replacement bus. According to the rail planner app, the bus is not included in the interrail pass, but that feels weird. Does anyone know if the bus is included or not?
I previously asked a question re this but it’s disappeared. In a few weeks, I arrive at Heathrow Terminal 4 at night. No guarantee the flight will be punctual, but I’m hoping to be on an Elizabeth Line train by 2100 hours to connect to my destination beyond the London stations.Eurailpasses are valid on Elizabeth Line (as it’s a National Rail service) but given there’s no booking office at Heathrow T4, how do I get the paper pass stamped and the validity dates of my consecutive Global Pass entered?Of course, I can always ask staff if I can travel through to a station with a booking office, but what if the staff are grumpy or officious and won’t let me do this?
Hi asked for the refund of the pass number w54pj4 more than 3 weeks ago but still haven’t the money back.Is there any issue?please let me knowregarDs
Travelling to France next month with partner and 3 kids. We want to travel by train so I've read a bit on seat61 that it's best to book point to point tickets 2-3 months in advance but since we're past that now would it be better to just get a a eurail pass? I have seen a lot of people say a pass isn’t worth it and can be a hassle to use as we still need to pay additional reservation fees on the high speed trains and it doesn’t cover the ouigo train which we will be taking from paris to marseille and avignon to paris. Here are the other trains we will be taking: marseille-carcassonnecarcassonne-avignon And possibly these ones for a day trip:paris-nantes paris-lille marseille-nicecarcassonne-bordeauxcarcassonne-toulousecarcassonne-alet les bainsavignon-st etienneavignon-lyonavignon-aigues mortesavignon-cavaillon
Hi all,I have a question on the validity on the pass on border stations, especially between Germany, Switzerland and Austria. I have a global pass with residency in Germany and made the following experience with the app:I’ve used the pass on several occasions travelling from Konstanz (DE) to Zurich (CH), in this case the Railplanner app shows Konstanz as Konstanz (Germany), however it does not deduct an inbound or outbound travel day, as the station is literally a few meters after the border and since Konstanz station is part of the SBB train network. So no issues here. In a similar case, I travelled with a separate ticket (Deutschlandticket) to Lindau-Reutin and then wanted to continue by Interrail towards Bregenz in Austria. Lindau-Reutin is again shown as Lindau-Reutin (Germany) on the app, however in this case the app wants to deduct an inbound or outbound travel day.I wonder whether behaviour of the app is correct in this instance. In this post I found the following list of the
Thelma
Hi Just for understanding, If I travel as a german to stockholm by night train as a interrail global pass holder. Then the outbound trip would be Ulm-Stockholm, even if I have to change trains several times because night train I need only one travel day? If I want to go back, then this is the inbound trip, again from Stockholm to Ulm back, that means I come back to my origin station without buying an extra ticket? To get from Stockholm to Ulm I also have to change trains, but that does not cost any extra inbound, because it counts as one trip? What happens if the night train is delayed? Can I then simply take the next connection in germany to my home destination, or would that again cost an inbound connection? Thank you
I have tried to book my seat reservations for zuerich to milan on the 17/08/2023 but the interail website wont take my payment. What other website do I use and how do I add my pass onto it? Every other website makes me get a ticket too
In am Eurostar from London to Brussels. My international flight into Heathrow may be delayed. If I am late for my train at St. Pancras, what happens? I am travelling from Japan. Will Eurostar put me on the next available train and will there be an extra charge? Thank you!!!
How can I book the train from Paris to Liege? It starts in France and end up in Belgium, which web site I can reserve the Thalys ?Thanks tsafi
I'm looking for guidance on whether I should get the Swiss pass or Eurail pass. This will be for one adult and one 6 yo (she gets rides free) Below is my itinerary.Day 1 Paris to GenevaDay 2 to Montreaux(Golden Line pass)LucerneDay 3 (Titlis)Day 4 (Golden Round Trip)Day 4 Zurich. Based on my research, (All amounts in EUR)1. Let's say Paris to Geneva costs $60 for 2 in advance.2. Seat reservation of $30x2 Eurail3. Both passes get me rides on the GoldenPass.4. Titlis costs 129 w Eurail, 62 for SP5. Golden roundtrip both have the same $41 surcharge. I should factor what I'll assume to be small amounts for local trips on the tram/bus if I do not have the SP.I will need 3 days of the WP 257 and the minimum for Eurail is 4 days at 194 andThey both come about the same? $420 or so? Factor in local trips in Lucerne and Zurich, I probably should get the SP as it’s more convenient than scrambling for change to get tram tickets? Not staying city center in Geneva, Lucerne. Thanks
Hi All,I’m travelling with an Interrail pass and I’m currently on the route Brussels —> Paris —> Barcelona. Original Plan Thalys BRU-PAR, reserved through Interrail reservation service ICN (night train) PAR-Latour de Carrol, reserved with Interrail reservation service Thalys got more than 2 hours delayed due to multiple issues, so I missed my connection last night for the ICN.I want to continue my journey to Barcelona today and got a “Titre de rupture de correspondence” at the Paris train station to allow me travelling onwards on the next connection to Barcelona. I’m now on this train (TGV), however they ask me to pay 54 euros for the seat reservation (even though I’ve to stand as there’s not even any seats left). What are my rights here for compensation/refund? As the cost is increasing rapidly when you’ve to make multiple expansive reservations.
I had planned to travel and activated my pass at a date in the future, setup my trips online and made reservations (which I know are totally seperate). My plans changed, so I have removed all of my trips and deactivated my pass in the app, however it has not come through on the website refunds page. Is there a delay in this process usually or is there something else I should action in order to allow a refund? Any information is greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone! We are planning a short and simple trip to Turin and keen to avoid flying. So the plan is to travel from Greater London to Turin via Eurostar. One day to travel out via Paris and one day to travel back via Paris. So, two travel days in total and 3 days in Turin.I’ve had a look at the excellent Seat 61 website, but as a newcomer to Eurail/Interrail, I’m struggling to understand how best to do this. In particular:What pass to buy?How best to verify availability slots for Eurostar? If someone out there can give me some help on how best to do this it would be really appreciated. Many thanks.J.
Hi, When I got to the train station today to buy seat reservations (it wasn’t working online), they told me it was all sold out until tomorrow. We now have a train tomorrow but we can’t change our travel day! How do you go about this? Can I change it so I can travel tomorrow and use my eurail pass?
Hello, I am preparing for my first Interrail trip and I have troubles with reservations… I need to make a reservation for a train that goes from Barcelona to Seville, but I can't do it online. I called at Refe and they told me that I can make the reservation 3 days before, but I have to be at the desk in Barcelona 24 hrs before the embarking and pay my reservation… Unfortunately that is impossible because I want to arrive and leave in the same day (I want to reach Portugal). Moreover, they told me I can use my pass in Spain only One time. And this is not cool because I need to also get back through Spain…Did somebody have this experience of going through Spain? Is it true what Renfe told me?Is there any possibility of making and paying my reservation- from another country maybe?
Hello, I have to book a train that says that seat reservations are required. The train i need is very expensive or there are no more seats available. I already have the eurorail pass and i know that there are some trains that is posible to get on without having a reservation and sit on the floor if there are no more seats. My question is: is it posible to get on a train that says seat reservations are required without actually buying the reservation?
I am on the 11.20am EC 52 from Milan to Frankfurt today I did not make a seat reservation and sat in a seat that stated it was available The train conductor ( who was very rude) has just charged me €23 euros saying I had to pay this or else I would be thrown off the train at the next station!I am a 54 year old interailer ( teacher ) in first class and I think this is just a money making exercise by TrentaliaFirst class on this train is also very poor compared to other countries trains. Is this correct that this payment is mandatory? In my opinion the cost of seat reservations spoils the whole Interail experience as it increases the cost massively
hello everybody! i have a 2nd class youth interrail pass, but the woman at renfe (spain train organization) sold me a seat reservation for first class for a train from spain to france bc the rest was sold out (even though she knew that i had a 2nd class pass). on the seat reservation are 2 qr codes and it says ticket+reservation. now i am confused if i am allowed to go on this train or not, can you help me?
I go with the train fron bordueax to lille, and need to go with the metro in paris, is the metro include in the eurail pass? Thanks Tsafi
Hey Interrail community,I’m travelling with a mobile Global Pass with my family with residence in Germany. We started our journey in Berlin at 9pm with an overnight train to Offenburg (border with France) arriving the following day at 6am and from there change to a TGV to Paris at 7am. As expected this consumed two travel days. What it was unexpected is that this consumed both out-/inbound days in all our tickets. My return journey is with the same overnight train in Germany (already reserved). Asking the personnel in the train and train stations they all coincided this is not correct. They gave me some tips for the next time, to split the trip (my second trip starting in Strasbourg across the border, instead of Offenburg) or indicate the first outbound train in the app starting the next day.To fix our current situation they suggested to contact Interrail’s service center, but since this is hard to reach, here I am 😀. What can I do to recover the inbound day?I did this same journey mul
