To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more

Hello,I bought a 1-month Pass and I will book seat reservations. I want to ask 2 questions because I am confused.1. I will use a lot of trains, so I don't want to deal with different railway companies' websites. So if I make the reservations through the Interrail website, will I have any problems? After making a reservation, will I have a problem such as not having a train at the reservation time or having an invalid ticket?. Because I saw that it is recommended to buy from railway companies in many articles.2. I will activate the Interrail Pass on my phone. As far as I understand, there is no connection between the phone and the account I opened on the computer. So do I have to make reservations from my phone?Thank you :)
I’ll be travelling through the Baltic states (from Warsaw to Helsinki) and there are no timetables in Interrail for them. I have a four day interrail pass, and I found the route I want to take on other websites. Before I add it to my pass manualy, how do I make sure, that the train tickets for that rout are covered by my pass?
My wife and I have global passes, and are meeting our son, who does not have a global pass and is joining us for only part of the trip. I am trying to make train rez on a train from Budapest to Prague for the three of us, so we can be seated together. The app does not allow me to do this. Any suggestions?ThankyouChris and Patti
Hello together,I plan on going on my first interrail journey in about a month with a 7 day global pass. And I know that one can split their days of travel over the whole month, still I'm not sure about the following topic:I think of visiting spain for around a week, using 3-4 of my travel days, and visiting Amsterdam for a Weekend, using 2 of those travel days. Still, I plan on coming back to my country of residence in between these journeys and I recently heard, that with an interrail pass you can only leave/arrive your country of residence once. So, what I am basically asking is: Is that true? I did not find an answer addressing this issue, maybe someone else knows. Thank you in advance,Lisa :)
Hello there!First time using interrail… I plan to go from Paris to Lund in Sweden on August 17th. When I try to pay for my seat reservations it says that the connection cannot be booked right now. So I tried yesterday and now today again. It seems like there is a problem of connection around Hamburg.I checked DB website and there it says that the Manheim Hbf - Hamburg Hbf trip is cancelled. However there is an arrow and then it says Hamburg-Altona. Does anybody know if that means that the train will still go to Hamburg but stop at Altona station instead of Hbf?In this case I would be up for any tip regarding the quickest way to go from Altona to Hbf ^^Thank’s a lot in advance!Madou
My wife and I have 3-month Global Pass 1st Class. So far, so good, but after patiently waiting for prices for seat reservations to appear for late October 2023, it looks like the only option for a seat reservation on the ECB85 Direct from Munich to Venice is 2nd Class. This could mean one of two or three things: 1. 1st Class pass holders don’t need a seat reservation and “you are ready to board” really applies. 2. 1st Class pass holders cannot reserve a 1st class seat and may or may not get a 1st class seat depending on availability. Or maybe 3. There are no 1st class seats on the ECB85? I think #3 doesn’t apply because I checked Seat 61 and there are photos. I’m wondering if I want comfort and piece-of-mind:, A. Do I have to reserve 2nd Class? Or, B. I should stop worrying and just show up for my ECB85 train without a seat reservation because there should be two first class seats available on the ECB85 from Munich to Venice in late October? Appreciate your thoughts on this an
Hi, I’m trying to book a First Class seat reservation on the above train - between Budapest and Rybnik, if that matters - but I can’t seem to do so online. cd.cz only seems to offer second class reservations which is odd. The train does contain a single first class carriage - see the Vagonweb composition here: https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=START&kategorie=EC&cislo=130&nazev=B%C3%A1thory&rok=2023 - and Mav also offers First Class tickets for sale, but no reservations. I’m aware the Interrail website does offer First Class reservations, but I’m assuming the service only offers printed versions, at which point it is almost cheaper to just purchase an advance ticket in second class and save a pass day after factoring in the postage charge to the UK. Alternatively, is it possible to book First Class seat reservations for this train over the counter in Germany / Austria / Romania beforehand? I’m assuming it should be possible to do it in Budapest too, but I’m o
Hi, when it says "You are ready for boarding ,You can reserve your seat, but it is not obligatory" do I need to pay the non obligatory 8€ later or not? If I don't pay the 8€, will I have to pay it once I arrive at the station to board the train to my destination with a ticket inspector or not?
According to NS International Interrail is not valid anymore (even with seat reservation) on the ICE from the Netherlands towards Germany between 6:00 and 16:00, during the summer months (17 June - 18 August). 🤐 During the period from 17 June to 18 August 2023, Eurail and Interrail travellers cannot use the ICE International trains towards Germany with departure times between 6am - 4pm from a station in the Netherlands. Even with a separate seat reservation, travel on these trains is not allowed for Eurail and Interrail travellers during the specified period. Hi,we want to travel from Lyon to London. It’s necessary to make reservation first to go to Paris and then to go to London. How to check the avaibility of both reservations? Thanks
HelloI see that Eurail passholders are ‘entitled’ to discounts in Norway on various railway & ferry companies - refer https://www.eurail.com/en/get-inspired/trains-europe/useful-train-information/participating-railway-companiesHow does one actually get those discounts? For example with https://www.vy.no/en ?Is there a code or something?Help please
Renfe has just opened regular ticket sales for the reintroduced AVE services between Barcelona and Lyon and Madrid and Marseille. I have called their customer service and I've been told interrail is valid on those for €10 in Elige (standard class) and €13 in Comfort (1st class), and that I could book these reservations online. The latter I've not been able to find out how, but hopefully the first statement is correct.I suspect these reservations can be made through Renfe's ticket office. Possibly later also through DB (and other channels with access to Renfe's system).Currently tickets on the sections Valence-Nimes-Barcelona-Madrid are on regular sale for just €19, and from Lyon/Avignon/Marseille for €29, so it's probably not really worth to use a travel day for that (unless you have a continuous pass or more travel plans in the same day).
I will book a seat reservation between Oslo and Stockholm via sj. I am currently 24 years old, but I will turn 25 on August 20 and take the train on August 24. Should I write my age as 25 ?
Hello!I am planning a trip that involved the Italian night train from Bologna Centrale to Lecce and since I’d like to just use the travel day that I’ve already started that day, I’d prefer taking the night train before midnight, ICN 765, instead of the faster ICN 755 that leaves after midnight. However, when I am trying to find it on the Railplanner search engine it only ever shows up until Bari where I’m supposed to change to a Regionale that would be faster than staying onboard the ICN765 – but would mean a new travel day or an extra ticket even though the night train actually continues to Lecce. There seems to be no way of getting Railplanner to show me the whole trajectory to Lecce even though it definitely exists – Railplanner itself shows Lecce as the final destination.Does anyone know how to fix this or has experience with the route? I’m wondering if it would be acceptable to just stay on the couchette for the last three hours since nobody would be taking it anway? (But it wouldn
I want to book a seat reservation for a train for next week, but it offers me paper ticket and therefore there is no time for it to arrive at my address. I need it to be e-ticket and have the seat reservation instantly. Can you recommend a solution for my specific case? thank you very much.
Hi, after I got the Global Pass, how to make reservation for sleeper train from Zurich to Budapest on 11 September?
Hi everyone! For our train trip between Berlin Hbf and Krakow Glowny, we would like to reserve two seats using the interrail app which redirects us to your site. However, we cannot make our seat reservations. We have already sent several emails to companies including: https://www.bahn.com/en/contact. We had been on hold on their phone number for 3 hours with no response. We have a transfer time of ten minutes. Should we arrange this at the train station?
Hi, I’m trying to book a seat reservation from Hamburg Hbf to Copenhagen on the 7th of August but it is not letting me as the message, ‘Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later or find another connection. This connection will be removed from your cart.’ keeps showing up for all the train times. I have tried all the possible times for this date and they all end up on this page when I try to pay. Any solutions?
Hello, i have a reservation in the ICE from Frankfurt to Paris Est. Nevertheless I cannot enter that train in Frankfurt since my commuting train changed its plan and doesn’t stop in Frankfurt anymore. Next option is for me to enter the same train in Mannheim. Now I have the question how my seat reservation will be controlled and whether it’s still valid then? I am a bit unsure since it’s a mandatory thing to go to France and all other seat reservations are booked out
Hi all, I want to go from France to Germany later in August, I tried making the reservation through https://travel.b-europe.com/Eurail-GE/en/booking-tgv#TravelWish, unfortunately, it says that no sits are available with an Interrail pass. What I’m struggling to understand is that it works for Eurail pass. I’m struggling to understand why, any idea ? I guess I cannot book an Eurail sit with an Interrail pass ? Many thanks :)
Hi! So I am backpacking the UK + Ireland and France from Aug to Sept, alone. Lots of people mentioned the EURail but I was wondering if the pass also allows for use of transit (train, bus, etc) between smaller places such as London and Bath, or Glenfinnan and Glasgow, or Nice and Monaco.I am quite literally in a different place every 1-2 days (except for London, Nice, Paris where I’ll be staying for about a week each). So I want a transit pass that works well to get around each place as I know public transport can be costly or weird.I am super confused, so any help would be appreciated!
Hi all, Kiwi here attempting to book train seats from Paris to Cassis on the 10th August for myself and my travel mate. We both have the EUrail 2nd class pass, however, when going to reserve our seats through the EUrail seat reservation we get the infamous ‘no longer available’ message.I have checked the b-europe.com availablity and there doesn’t appear to be any trains available to reserve seats on this day.Is there any other sites to check for seat reservations or is it just EUrail.com and b-europe.com?Have we simply left it too late and there are not seats available to reserve? or am I missing something?Any alternatives for trains/booking methods is greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I wanted to exchange this 7-day passe for a 5-day pass, so, as said on the site (https://www.interrail.eu/en/ interrail-passes/ordering-info/refund-exchange-policy)I bought the 5-day one that I actually needed and I asked the refund of the one that I have bought by mistake (the 7-day one), however I haven't received any confirmation email about the refund and I have not received the money(264-15=249€). Please could you please help me, I don't know if I'm making something wrong or if this just takes a lot of time.
Our departure is coming up. Friday is the day and we are very excited. I have initiated our ÖBB train tickets and my global passes say they are ready to travel, so I am assuming there is nothing more to do with that. I don’t see a spot where it says to do anything with SNCB. Does anyone know if I have to activate them?
