Suggest me any good alternatives if the timings of the trains seems to be off, also suggest me if I am missing out on any iconic trains, my only criteria is to stay near to the commonly travelled attractions.4. Suggest me the mischievious trains which generally are late or might cause a problem

Hi. Does anyone know, if I’m traveling on trains which don’t need reservations, do I have to catch the train at the time specified in my trip details? e.g. if I say I’m going to catch the 09:30 but I miss it, can I just hop on the next one?

Hi all, I’m travelling with my family of 5 and can not get my pass and those of my wife and kids to appear on the app. It bounces me back and forth but ultimately unsuccessfully. how can we get on a train without the app or get the app to appear. there is no phone number to ring and the chat bot is down. I submitted a query but will be waiting on a reply to that. 

Hello. I am trying to book a sleeper train from Paris to Salzburg on May 24th - are they all full, or do the routes simply not run anymore? When I look on the OBB website, it says that there are no routes for this. When I check from other countries like Belgium, a bunch of routes pop up. Does anyone have advice on this?  Thank you.

I asked the following question of AI.  However I thought it would be wise to get some human input before proceeding!Basically my wife and I traveled from Lille to St Pancras in January on Eurostar and were subject to a   delay which meant we were able to claim e-vouchers by way of compensation.   I shall shortly be purchasing Interrail passes for the two of us for travel in September, with the first leg being on Eurostar from London to Paris.  So my question is - can I use our e-vouchers to part pay for our seat reservations?The answer I got back from AI was - yes.  However this could only be done through Eurostar itself and over the phone.   It also advised that normally there would be a £12 booking fee.  However since there was no other way of making this booking that I should request that this booking fee be waived.   Would you agree with this?  Anything else that you think I should take into account before moving forward on this? Thanks in anticipation.Peter

To anyone who's done multiple countries over a couple months, how far in advance did you book your train tickets? Looking to go in summer and unsure whether to book them now or on the day I want to travel. And depending on when you booked them, what was seating like? Was it very booked up or quite empty. Hello everyone !  I’m really hoping on someone that one day had the same problem I’m havingWe are in the 21th century, so I thought that the email form of the pass would be the easiest. But…. My phone (iPhone SE 2016) is not compatible with the new version of the app.  therefore I am just in the middle of nothing because in the end I don’t have any passes to present to the train people that control the tickets… What can I do ?? thanks a lot It’ll sincerely help me :)

I bought an Interrail pass for Spain. From what I understand, some train tickets are included in the pass, while others require an additional purchase. How do I reserve seats? Do I need to go to the station the day before, for example? Or should I buy tickets on the Spanish railway company’s website or app? Do all trips require a supplement? Or are there some trips where seat reservations aren’t necessary? Thanks for all your advice—I’m a little bit confused.

Is Eurail pass good between paris and london 

My current country of residence is Germany, and I am travelling to Switzerland.I read about 1 outbound and 1 inbound travel day, to leave and return to your country of residence using the Pass.I wanted to ask whether it is applicable for a single country pass or only a global pass?

Hi everyone! In August last year, I bought an interrail pass to go to Sweden. Due to personal reasons, I couldn’t travel in the end so I haven’t used the interrail pass. On my interrail app, the pass appears as “associated with a trip - august 2025” but I haven’t activated it yet. This pass is still working until June 2026 so I would like to use it in April. Do you know if and how I can associate my pass with a new trip to make sure I can use it? I don’t want to click on “activate the pass” but then don’t know how to change the trip and be sure I can use it in April. Thank you so much for your help! Best, Julie

Hello all. I am trying to make a seat reservation on Great Western’s Night Rivera train for May 5th, but the website’s seat reservation functionality was removed. I tried messaging them on Facebook Messenger and was told to either book via some weird train staff page (I don’t work for a railway) or to call them. When I called them, I was told that I could just show up and board the train, but the Eurail website said that reservations are mandatory.Who is correct, and what should I do?

I'm just getting confused reading all the advice, and some people elsewhere saying reservations are compulsory (via PKP) even when the interrail app says theyre 'optional' or just 'recommended'. I want to just activate my day and add short trips today in the rail planner app as I city hop. Apologies for repeating questions, Im just confused, unfortunatelty the conductor here has no English to guide me. 

Just - and possibly a daft question - but I am &st time user. After you activate the Pass, and you have all the trips on “My Trip”, Do I then find the QR Code for each leg of a total voyage for the Inspector? Or do I have to do someting else. Just want to get this right. Many Thanks

Hello!Traveling 3/28/2026 - 4/4/2026 Starting from Frankfurt to Geneva Switzerland. Would like to do a scenic route along the Rhine River (would that be a Regional Train?) but I don’t know if a Eurail Pass covers that. What do I need to know about crossing into Switzerland? Do I need to go through customs?Do I need to get any other passes for Germany or Switzerland that would make traveling easier. What about passes for taxis?Thank you for your help.  

Does anyone know what this → “The Double Sleeper: Can only booked with a full fare price at the moment.” means on this page → https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/trains-europe/night-trains/night-riviera-sleeper?  Does it mean that there is no concept of a pass holder fare for this trip any more?I’m aware that booking this used to involve ringing GWR (no web access) and convincing them that your Johnny Foreigner credit card and address are acceptable, but it is now not even an option at all?As it happens, the “full fare” which I can book directly online includes a super advance ticket which is only slightly more than the cost of an Interrail day, so it might be cheaper and simpler not to use my pass and just book a full ticket.  This seems a little bonkers to me.

Wie kan ons helpen? We proberen nu een rit te reserveren op 10 augustus van Narbonne (Frankrijk) naar Palencia (Spanje), waarbij we de overstap in Madrid wat ruimer willen maken dan de rechtstreekse verbinding. Het liefst nu omdat we dan niet de hoofdprijs hoeven te betalen en we dan nog plek hebben voor 4.Dus 10.36 vertrek in Narbonne ; Aankomst Madrid 16.18Vertrek Madrid 18.51; Aankomst Palencia 20.18Maar we krijgen hier de melding dat we pas 90 dagen voor 10 aug kunnen boeken, alternatief is raileurope maar daar moet je met een credit kaart betalen en die hebben we niet, of boeken bij de Spaanse spoorwegen en dan binnen 3 dagen ophalen op een Spaans station..We zien dus duidelijk iets over het hoofd, maar wat? Wie kan ons vertellen hoe het wel moet.

Hello all,With the new beta Global Plus Pass, if I and a friend were to get those, I understand that we would need to book reservations through the Interrail system to get the reservations that are included in the price.However, as you cannot choose seats while booking the reservations on this system, is there another way to reserve seats that are next to each other? (the passes would be on different accounts and phones)Or would it be simpler to just get a normal pass (especially while they are discounted) and reserve seats through RailEurope or directly through operator websites such as Eurostar and Ceske Drahy?Thank you for your time!Joe

Hi there, we are flying into London at 6am on the 25th of March and I want to catch a train to Edinburgh. I want to book them now - but I don’t know when I’ll be at kings cross to leave. Would you buy the 9:03 or 9:30am train? Plus how do I book the tickets (seat reservations) I can’t book on eurail- it won’t let me. What do I do? 

Do you know if there will be night trains between Narvik and Stockholm between June 20th and July 18th? Currently, when I check the sj.se website, there are no available trips for those dates. I haven't been able to find any information about planned track work or if tickets might go on sale later.  If you have any further information, I would be very grateful. Thank you very much !

I am planning a trip in early September.The plan is to travel from the UK to Brussels via Eurostar, then take a night train.I was receiving emails fron European Sleeper earlier in the year advising of special deals in March.  Does anyone know from previous experience whether there is likely to be a sale for Travel in September, once the high season is winding down, or if I should play safe and book with my interrail pass now?Also is night jet or the European Sleeper better,.or just the same, experience -wise?  We will most likely go for a couchette in  a 4 or 6 women only scenario.Our final destination will he Budapest for a few days, so there will be a stopover somewhere.  Recommendations of such a stopover place that will be pleasant for a single night, reasonable accommodation at a good price;  not bothered about luxurious but dormitories and shared bathrooms are ,not on the list.

I want to take an RJ train from Trento at 9:59 to Munich. On the German Rail Pass brochure it's written that from Italy to Germany it covers only EC trains. But the RJ and the EC have the same stops and take the same time, the only difference is that the first EC is at 13:59, which is too late for me. Can I use the German Rail Pass for the RJ as well?
