Hello! My family of 4 is going travelling on a London-Paris-Rome trip this summer and I know I need to book our reservations asap. I’m trying to decide on the Eurail Global pass vs. just buying individual tickets. I think all our routes will require supplements on a pass but I’m having trouble seeing how much those will cost so I can compare. (I was able to see what costs are booking individually.)These are our trains:Eurostar London-ParisIntercite nuit Paris-CarcassonneCarcassonne-NiceNice-RiomaggioreRiomaggiore-VeniceVenice-RomeI know normally people here tend to say that in Italy it’s cheaper to go without railpasses, but I do think we are mostly on longer/pricier routes so I’m not sure.Another complication in comparison is my daughter apparently doesn’t need a Railpass (she’s 11) but she would of course need reservations. I assume if I buy passes there is a way to order those reservations but again, I can’t get an estimate.Eurail passes 2nd class are 1064., 1st class 1364., We’d ha
Hi, we are travelling to Marseillan Plage in the summer via Paris with a one country pass for France. If we take the TGV from Mannheim to Paris we will have to pay until Forbach and if we take the ICE from Karlsruhe to Paris we have to pay until Strasbourg, right? Just wanted to make sure as this is the first time we are travelling by Interrail with a one country pass and I can’t seem to find this information anywhere on the Interrail site. Thanks,Annika
how do i upgrade my second class passes to first class?

Greetings,Newbie here. Well, not really - I’m 76 so not quite so new.My wife and I will be traveling to Europe from the US. and the trip starts in one week. From the Eurail website, I have purchased two Global passes (15 days in two months), and several seat reservations where called for. My questions pertains to use of the Rail Planner app.Is it generally a good idea to have both passes on one phone, or for each of us to have our own pass on our personal phone? If you are not making the seat reservations on the app, can you move previously purchased reservations over into the app? Or is it better just to keep paper reservations and use those when boarding? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I’m trying to book a seat reservation for EC 405 from Berlin Hbf (9.50 am) to Warsaw for August 1st IC 107 from Warsaw (7.10 pm) to Budapest for August 2ndThey’re both available on PKP intercity website but they don’t show any interrail discount/seat reservation only. EC405 is shown on DB website but they say the reservation is impossible. I’d prefer to avoid booking via interrail website since it’s quite expensive (and they also say IC107 can’t be reserved on their website). I was wondering if there’s any way to reserve a seat only via PKP or if you have any other advice on how to find these tickets. Thanks!
I wanted to know about the europass and its use, we will go to Barcelona for 3 days, 3 days to Rome and 3 days to Paris... which pass would be the right one to buy and if at the same time, with this pass I could go from Rome to Venice For example. Or does that have to be paid separately?
Hi, We are trying to book a private sleeping cabin on the night train from Malmo to Stockholm (14/8 22:32-05:37) with a 2nd class pass. However, the message below is shown on booking page.“Prices unavailableNo price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” When I tried to search this train on SJ website, it says:“Track work is plannedRight now, track work is planned on the route Malmö C–Sthlm Central when you want to travel. We release tickets when the planning is complete and we know how the trains will be able to run.Come back at a later time or choose another journey.” Is it possible to know when will the train work finished planning so I could possibly reserve a seat?In everyone experience, should I wait for the planning or should I search for another train/transportation? Thank you for your replies in advance!
Hi there, I am a New Zealand citizen wondering if I qualify for a Eurail pass, considering my current residency permit for the Netherlands. I would only be using it for the period of time which my residency permit is valid. I understand the place of residency listed when purchasing should match your passport, but if I carry my residence permit with me then that is sufficient? Would appreciate any help. Thanks
I have a day to fill between Colmar and Munich and would like to maybe visit Switzerland staying 1 night can anyone suggest a route please?
I have planned a trip using the website. I have received the reservations to my mail and that’s fine, but how do I see the planing in my app now? do I have to do the plan again in the app? why it dose not shows automatically in the app once I entered my pass?
Hi, I am having no luck booming seat reservations for the Switzerland one country pass. Been on all the websites Interail has recommended and all say the reservation is unavailable or no required. Any help would be grateful.
In the app, when generating a new travel day, it asks you to select the day and time of the train that you are going to take, but if I don't know what time I am going to return on a round trip, what is the trip On the way back, what do I have to put in the day of the trip? What do I have to do in the app to be able to access the next train that was not included in my travel day? Thanks
Hello, I made a reservation on the eurail site (web). The trip is from Verona to Zurich. The Journey is from:(1) Verona to Milan (Requires Reservation)(2) Milan to Lugano (Youre ready to board)(3) Lugano to Zurich (Youre ready to board) The reservation required is only the first part so I booked it and got my ticket.Part 2 and 3 of the journey, says on the journey, 'You're ready to board'. So I assumed that it doesn't require reservation. My problem is, I can't find the same scheduled journey on my Rail Planner app.On the eurail reservation the entire journey is from 10:02 AM (Verona) arrive at 14:55 (Zurich). I'm having headache now, I dunno how to activate the same journey in my app and add it to may pass if I can find that exact scheduled trip. Hope you can help, it’s my first time 😭
My friend and I are travelling together for a month in Europe. However, she lives in Australia and I live in the UK so we both need different passes. Will this effect the way we travel, as in will we still be able to sit by each other on the trains and so on, or will it be ok to have two different passes?
Everytime I try to finalise my reservations París - London Eurostar on 29th July, departure 20.13, I am told something has gone wrong, refresh the page. I have refreshed several times with the same result
Hi,We (family of 4) have Interrail global passes and need to travel from Zürich to Lierna (by lake Como, Italy) on June 19th and from Lierna to Innsbrück on June 26th. I know the Italian timetables are slow to get published, but I'm getting anxious because it's only a couple of weeks and I'm still not able to see the timetables except for the high speed trains. I've been checking both Trenitalia and SBB websites. Am I missing something? I would be extremly grateful if someone could help me with finding good routes and timetables for those dates! I'm also a bit conflicted as to wether or not to get reservations (when they are not compulsory). The SBB website is showing extremely high occupancy for some of the connections that I've been looking at for example next Monday (the same day of the week that we will be travelling), although I've learned here that seat reservations are generally unnecessary in Switzerland.
Anyone have details of this Summer's Hamburg to Stockholm night trains and when we can book seats? Thank you
Hello, I want to travel at the end of this summer and this will be my first trip. I don’t want to wait until that time and i want to get my ticket months before. So, can i do that? (The officer in the train station said that they only give tickets for two weeks later, not earlier..)
Hi everyone, I am under the understanding you can use two travel days in your home country. I can’t see any restrictions for this, nor have I experienced any. But people in another discussion claim there are such conditions, e.g. you should go straight to a border town / must be a continuous journey etc. Are there really such restrictions and if so, where are they stated? Personally, I have used a remaining home country day to travel to another town and back and had no problem doing that, but people claim you aren’t allowed to do that…
alguien sabe si los descuentos que ofrecerá el gobierno este verano en transporte ferroviario se aplica a la reserva de asientos del interrail?
Hello! New to the community. Thinking of purchasing a eurail pass for July / August travel this year but unsure if the places below all use mobile passes or if a majority only uses paper passes. Would love your help, thanks! London to Paris Paris to Amsterdam Belgium to Amsterdam Switzerland
Hi everybody !I've read a lot of topics on the subject, but I haven't found a precise answer to my question. I’m French, and before leaving for the rest of continental Europe, I want to take a trip to the UK. The first trip from Paris to London will logically count as an outbound. I've understood that. But then, do I have permission to do London - Brussels afterwards to continue my journey? Won't this London - Brussels (via France) automatically end the validity of my pass, as I'll have returned to France a second time?To sum up, are these outbound/inbound journeys really outbound and inbound or simply days of travel in our country of residence that can be used in any way, even just by crossing it without stopping? (In the end, I plan to return to France on my own)Thank you all in advance for your answers!Arnaud
