Get ready to travel

As a international visitor which pass do I buy?looking at travelling Rome Florence  Tuscany Venice Lakes Sorrento and surrounding places of interest so happy to take fast train for long journey but would I need a differnt pSs for local journeys ?  

According to this web page (https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/before-you-leave/airport-train-station-connections), some connections from airport to city center and vice versa are included in the interrail global pass. Does using these connections count as a travel day? We are flying from our homecountry to our first destination, and staying there for a few days before starting our interrail. Do we have to pay for train from airport to city center, if we don't want to "waste" our travel day in that?  ​​​Also, we are flying back home from London, but we are going to stay there for a few days before our flight. Can we use our rail pass there to connect from city center to Heathrow, even tho we have already used our travel days (but we still have time left in our pass)?

We have 1st class reservations on the train….through the Chunnel...from London St. Pancras to Paris.  We are Canadians and are wondering where we go through customs and immigration and, if at the beginning of the trip, how much time to allow?  Also….as first time users of the European train system...how much time to arrive in advance at the station?

Hi allI’ve just booked the following journey. I selected compartment with 4 beds and assumed this would be a 4-berth couchette. But when I got the tickets, it shows seats 21-24. My understanding is that the numbering for a 4-berth would be 21/22/25/26…Any thoughts? Anyone have an up to date nightjet seating plan?Thanks

Hello ! Je vais voyager en Europe cet été et j’essaye de planifier en avance mon voyage. Je ne comprend pas bien comment fonctionne le Pass avec les trains sans réservation obligatoire. Puis-je prendre ces trains sans billets, sans aucune démarche avant de monter dans le train ? Est-il possible qu’il n’y ait plus de places dans ces trains et que je ne puisse pas les prendre si je n’ai pas réservé ? Une fois dans le train qu’est ce qui fait office de billets ?Merci beaucoup ;)

We’ll be traveling through Italy- two adults and five children (one under 4, two between 4-11, and two youth over 12). Are the youth traveling with us (over 12) exempted from payment if they travel with an adult?

i like to visit geneva and surrounding area by train. only swiss. we are 7: 5 kids: the youngest 19- oldest 26 plus my self and wife

We bought 1st class tickets.  We booked a travel day on our 7 days pass and then got bumped from train due to not making/paying extra for seat reservations.  Agent said train was completely reserved. We then couldn’t get a train to our destination for 2 days so we had to fly.  How can we get our travel day back?

Hi everyone,I’ve got a problem to choose the pass for my travel (it’s my first time trying this kind of travel). I’m planning on travelling with a friend, and the trip would be the following : first, we would take a night train from Marseille to Vienna (with correspondences) the night of the 15th/16th July.After, we would take a night train from Vienna to Berlin (a direct) the night of the 18th/19th July.After, we would take a night train from Berlin to Coppenhaggen (with correspondences) the night of the 21th/22th July.Finally, we would take a night train from Coppenhaggen to Marseille (with correspondence) the night of the 25th/26th July.But we don't know which pass to take ?Sometimes, the website told us it's the 4-days Global pass a month, on other times, the 5-days Global pass a month. While making a seat reservation Should I print the paper pass in the same color or black and white is sufficient?

I need some help. I have a first class pass for July and August. I am travelling to several countries and when I look at booking seat reservations, a lot are green and state ready to book - no seat reservation required. For the longer trips I would like to reserve a seat to be on the safe side even though it states it isn’t necessary. I have just discovered one train has said prices unavailable - pass holder reservations may be sold out. Does this mean even though we don’t need to book a seat and we are ready to board that there may be no seat available at all? I have been regularly checking so I can book at the earliest time possible. I don’t feel comfortable just winging it.

We bought four 1st class tickets but have not been able to use them due to all seats in first class being reserved. Is there a way to get a refund as we were not informed that we would need seat reservations on every train for an extra fee?

I have tried to send support ticket 3 times and I keep getting an email stating I don’t have a pass, even though I am logged in with the same number and currently using my pass daily.  I have a confirmation email also and chatbot states they can not find me.  I need help.  We literally had to sleep on the ground with our children due to getting bumped from train for not reserving seats and then all seats got reserved. Hi, I would like to go from Bucharest to Istanbul. Since the Bosphorus Express night train is no longer serving the route (AFAIK) I decided sleep in Varna and from there continuing on route Varna Sp. > Kamobat / Kamobat > Plovdiv / Plovdiv > Kapikule. For Kapikule > Halkali there is request for reservartion and I struggle to acquire it online. Because in the Rail Planner app I see the info about it: At the ticket office (subject to availability).That scares me cos I don’t like end up in vacum without any move. Hello,I have seen variations of this question but none quite answer my specific concern.So, perhaps someone can offer some insight.  We have 4 Eurail 2nd class passes and we’re trying to reserve Nice-Marseille on the https://travel.b-europe.com site.  This site is provided on the eurail site as one of the alternate options when booking seat reservations.  The site asks for our eurail ticket class and I promptly provide the correct info, 2nd class passes.  The site then shows us two options for tickets, 2nd class tickets and 1st class tickets.  The first class tickets are actually cheaper (68 Euro v 80 Euro) and if I continue, it will still acknowledge that we have indeed 2nd class passes and have 1st class tickets in our cart.  It even details the discount applied.  So my question is can I buy and use these first class tickets?I read so many answers detailing that since first is more expensive you’ll wind up paying the difference but in this instance 1st class is actually cheaper and I

I am a first time traveler, so I kindly request all veterans to please guide me a bitI will be going for a business work to Denmark. After which I will be travelling to Berlin and Paris for a trip of 7 days. If I purchase a Eurail purchase of Europe section for 7days, will I will be able to use the trains from Aalborg to Berlin, Berlin to Paris without buying individual tickets? Also, will I be able to use trains to travel inside Berlin or travel inside Paris for roaming purpose from one place to another with the same pass?I have another query, Is there any limitation on number of trains/trips I can take in a day using the pass or I can take any number of trains within those 7 days?  Thanks in Advance

Hello,In the period that a seat reservation is mandatory for travel on ICE to and from the Netherlands I am not able to make a seat reservation through bahn.de and obb. This seems like a technical fault, since I am able to book a regular ticket including a seat reservation for the same journeys. This problem holds for all ICE services to and from the Netherlands from 17 June to mid August. I am also able to make seat reservations before and after the period that a reservation is mandatory, so it seems like a specific error during the period that seat reservations are mandatory.Hopefully, it is soon possible to make seat reservations only for journeys on ICE to and from Amsterdam this summer.Thank you in advance,

Hi allBooking some routes as above - it’s simple to book reservations (even when not required), but on any of these journeys, is there a way to choose seats (either prior to booking reservation or after)? Travelling as a family of four, so keen to try and book tables or at least together.I saw something on the OBB site detailing seat selection when booking on the app, but perhaps that’s not available for, for example, Vienna to Budapest? Can’t find it on the app when booking.Any advice appreciated, thanks.
