Get ready to travel

Hallo,  Would like to visit France, looking at travel from London, via Paris or straight to Strassbourg, visiting small town such as RIBEAUVILLE, then onto Marseille, then to Barcelona, back to Bordeaux then onto another place, before heading back to London.  Given France asks for reservations, can anyone let me know if it is worth going or do the reservations take a lot of cash?  I am planning to go 1st class.    Any help greatly appreciated.Bobby

Maar voor zover ik kan zien komen we helemaal niet daar op ons traject. Hello everybody, I would like to book Zurich-Rome (5th of June). I see many options (I would like to do only 1 change in Milan) but I can’t book it through DB-Bahn or OBB or Trenitalia. I just don’t have the options available on these companies.This means that my only options to book it is the Eurorail website? Until now I traveled almost everywhere in Europe and I never done with Eurorail reservations system, avoiding fee and higher prices for each reservation(for example, in Spain it was displayed 25 euros for first class, at the Renfe office just 13 euros).Regards,Marco

Traveling from Germany to Italy with 4 days EU rail one country pass?Hope the transition from Germany->Switzerland->Italy is covered in the pass right?

Pass acheté pour 4 jours sur un mois direction suède...Je constate que tous les trajets affichés sur le site internet ne sont pas affichés sur Rail planner.Par exemple il existe sur un trajet Lorient Stockholm, deux trajets possibles avec départ à 05:52 le 17/08, mais il n’apparaissent pas sur rail planner.Est-ce normal?Merci d’avance 

Hello! I want to travel with my two children from Germany to Slovenia with the Global Pass. Is it possible that we go from Cologne to Munich at the first day and travel the next day to Slovenia?

Is it possible to make a reservation for a reservations not required train? I am traveling in July and since I know this is busy I am wondering if I can reserve in some way so I can guarantee a seat. I have to travel on a specific date and there is only one train option so I want to ensure I am able to get a seat.

Hi we have tickets booked on the Eurail site for the above trip for 9 th June at 11.30 and the train number is AVE2112, it is not showing on the site now but it shows one at 12.10 with the same train number have they just adjusted the leaving time, also can we only reserve seats at a station or can we do it online or over the phone?

Hello, so I will be travelling from July to August. When I bought the pass it stated that it is valid from 1 July to 31 August. But when I put in my first day it changes from May-July is there any way to change it?

I’m booking trains in the UK and I carefully planned out what pass I wanted to get (if I needed a pass, if I wanted to do BritPass or Eurail), decided on the Eurail pass, and looked on the app to find which trains I wanted. I just bought my pass and went to reserve my seats, but the trains that it showed me are “not available on eurail.com” and it tells me to book it through another website. It brought me to acprail, and I was able to find the same train for a small fee, but that site says I need a pass for the train, but I think it means a BritRail pass. Is this the case, or will my Eurail pass work? (If not, then why did Eurail show the train that I’d have to buy a pass from another company to ride??) I’m stressed and confused about this, does anyone know what the deal is? It’s happening for both the trains I wanted to book.

We are traveling from the US to Europe for the first time. I purchased 4 day Flexi passes with a first travel date of July 2. I then discovered I wasn’t able to get seat reservations on that day to arrive in Paris by the time we needed to, so I booked seat reservations on the latest train on July 1 instead. My question is can we activate and travel before the July 2 date I selected when I purchased? I have sent my question in several times through their contact form and not one of them has been answered. 

As a international visitor which pass do I buy?looking at travelling Rome Florence  Tuscany Venice Lakes Sorrento and surrounding places of interest so happy to take fast train for long journey but would I need a differnt pSs for local journeys ?  

According to this web page (https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/before-you-leave/airport-train-station-connections), some connections from airport to city center and vice versa are included in the interrail global pass. Does using these connections count as a travel day? We are flying from our homecountry to our first destination, and staying there for a few days before starting our interrail. Do we have to pay for train from airport to city center, if we don't want to "waste" our travel day in that?  ​​​Also, we are flying back home from London, but we are going to stay there for a few days before our flight. Can we use our rail pass there to connect from city center to Heathrow, even tho we have already used our travel days (but we still have time left in our pass)?

We have 1st class reservations on the train….through the Chunnel...from London St. Pancras to Paris.  We are Canadians and are wondering where we go through customs and immigration and, if at the beginning of the trip, how much time to allow?  Also….as first time users of the European train system...how much time to arrive in advance at the station?

Hi allI’ve just booked the following journey. I selected compartment with 4 beds and assumed this would be a 4-berth couchette. But when I got the tickets, it shows seats 21-24. My understanding is that the numbering for a 4-berth would be 21/22/25/26…Any thoughts? Anyone have an up to date nightjet seating plan?Thanks

Hello ! Je vais voyager en Europe cet été et j’essaye de planifier en avance mon voyage. Je ne comprend pas bien comment fonctionne le Pass avec les trains sans réservation obligatoire. Puis-je prendre ces trains sans billets, sans aucune démarche avant de monter dans le train ? Est-il possible qu’il n’y ait plus de places dans ces trains et que je ne puisse pas les prendre si je n’ai pas réservé ? Une fois dans le train qu’est ce qui fait office de billets ?Merci beaucoup ;)

We’ll be traveling through Italy- two adults and five children (one under 4, two between 4-11, and two youth over 12). Are the youth traveling with us (over 12) exempted from payment if they travel with an adult?

i like to visit geneva and surrounding area by train. only swiss. we are 7: 5 kids: the youngest 19- oldest 26 plus my self and wife

We bought 1st class tickets.  We booked a travel day on our 7 days pass and then got bumped from train due to not making/paying extra for seat reservations.  Agent said train was completely reserved. We then couldn’t get a train to our destination for 2 days so we had to fly.  How can we get our travel day back?

How I should use it? How many days does it take from the pass if I took train overnight?For some long train, can I use ICE or other high-speed train for faster travel?Especially, how is this pass in Switzerland? (Since I find tickets there are significantly expensive)And can I use it on days travelling inside a city?I am new to this. Hi everyone,I’ve got a problem to choose the pass for my travel (it’s my first time trying this kind of travel). I’m planning on travelling with a friend, and the trip would be the following : first, we would take a night train from Marseille to Vienna (with correspondences) the night of the 15th/16th July.After, we would take a night train from Vienna to Berlin (a direct) the night of the 18th/19th July.After, we would take a night train from Berlin to Coppenhaggen (with correspondences) the night of the 21th/22th July.Finally, we would take a night train from Coppenhaggen to Marseille (with correspondence) the night of the 25th/26th July.But we don't know which pass to take ?Sometimes, the website told us it's the 4-days Global pass a month, on other times, the 5-days Global pass a month. So, which one should we take ?Also, does this pass work when we are planning to take only night trains, sometimes with correspondences ? Thanks you for your help and advices :)Have a good trip every

While making a seat reservation Should I print the paper pass in the same color or black and white is sufficient?

I need some help. I have a first class pass for July and August. I am travelling to several countries and when I look at booking seat reservations, a lot are green and state ready to book - no seat reservation required. For the longer trips I would like to reserve a seat to be on the safe side even though it states it isn’t necessary. I have just discovered one train has said prices unavailable - pass holder reservations may be sold out. Does this mean even though we don’t need to book a seat and we are ready to board that there may be no seat available at all? I have been regularly checking so I can book at the earliest time possible. I don’t feel comfortable just winging it.
