Get ready to travel

A friend of mine is from Namibia, so she needs a Eurail and not an interrail pass - does the inbound / outbound rule apply there as well? Technically, she doesn't have a country of residence in the EU.can she travel several times in and out of the same country (e.g. UK or Belgium)?

Hi,I have made seat reservations for:Manchester - London (gwr.com, free, can rebook if needed)London - Paris, b-europe.com, Eurostar (same day as above journey)Paris - Strasbourg, b-europe.com, TVG INOUI (although it was €4 booking fee not €2 so not 100% sure I booked it on b-europe.com - might have been sncf-connect.com?! But I can’t see how to make eurail seat reservations on there...)Strasbourg - Vienna, oebb.at NightjetWhenever it asked for pass cover number I entered my mobile pass number (purchased via myinterrail.co.uk) as on b-europe.com it says this is the number in the mobile pass confirmation email.. but I’ve since read this is not a pass cover number and these can be generated here - https://www.eurail.com/en/book-reservations#/generatePassCoverNumberWhich is not made clear anywhere at all!Do I need to worry or will this be fine?Second question… do I need to mark my Manchester - London and London - Paris journeys as outbound journeys in the app?I have a 3 month continuous p

HI all sorry this may have been asked a million times before. I have purchased rail passes for myself and my family. I have created a series of journeys for my trip and added it has registered against my pass. I have then shared my trip to my family and they can see the itinery but cannot add it to their pass. There is no option in the app to “add” a shared trip to their “my trip” or to associate thier pass with the trip details. Do we really need to add each journey individually on their respective “my trip”. ?? I would have thought it would be a simple share the trip  option to add shared trip to my passplease help ? we have a week before we travel !! Thanks in advance.     

I don't know if member's are aware, that if you book Amsterdam to London. Eurail have no direct trains, but you have to book 2 separate trains, one from Amsterdam to Brussels either IC or Thalys, change in Brussels and go through security, before boarding Eurostar.I got caught out by the website and finished up with a Brussels to London ticket. I have to now book at extra cost Amsterdam to Brussels with all the hassle of security in Brussels, and making sure my train arrives early enough. But I can't do this until 90 days before.I have tried to cancel or reschedule my trip through both Eurail and Eurostar to no avail, they just don't want to know.I reckon they take your money then abandon you.Be careful with booking on the Eurail website.

I needed to change the reservation of a 4bed couchette from Bologna-Palermo to Bologna-Siracusa but couldn’t find an option to cancel or rebook my reservation without costs. (First I wanted to book a 2nd class single bed but couldn’t find a possibility either) My local train company’s office wasn’t able to solve the problem, too.Is there still a chance to get the reservation, that is not needed refunded.?Alois

Hello Eurail community!  I hope someone is able to help me as I'm really struggling to get the seat reservations I need and now I'm running really behind. My friend and I leave on April 29, 2023, we've purchased the eurail global pass 5days in one mo And need seat reservations from Amsterdam to brussels on May 3rd from Brussels to Paris on May 4th and from Paris to London May 7th. I'm open to departure times  But my goal is to arrive in the next city around 10 AM ish.  When I put the route in on the Eurail app at 1st it gives me the option to book the train reservation but then it quickly turns to say that seat reservations are not available, Which From what I understand is said to mean that reservations for that train are sold out but when I look on the Thalys Website (brussels-paris trains) it shows that there are still train tickets  available for multiple times But it doesn't appear that I  Can book seat reservations on Thalys only the whole ticket... Also why is there More options

HelloI am trying to book a train on 11/06 from Prague to Krakow but cannot get a reservation on Eurail or cd.czDoes anyone know if there is another way or is there travel disruption during this period?Thanks :)

Also, does inbound/outbound mean something if I don’t live in europe?

Hi, when making seat reservations are they only needed between the stations listed or for the whole journey. For example, I want to travel from Paris to Milan. The booking indicates seat reservations are required. I cannot book a seat all the way through from Paris to Milan. Do I need to book only from Paris to Macon - ie between the 2 stations listed; or do 1 seat reservation for the French section and another for the Italian?When trying to book seats with Italian Rail, they are not accepting my Pass Code for the booking. I had to postpone an overnight sleeper reservation yesterday as my wife sprained her foot. Bought another reservation for today and was unable to get a refund at Bucharest station where I bought both passes. Is it possible to get a refund? Reservations cost c €80. Many thanks. 

Hi! I would like to make a seat reservation from Strasbourg to Lille Europe or Lille Flandres. When I want to click the button to add them, it doesn’t work. I looked already to the SNCF website and there they have still tickets. But I don’t want to pay the expensive tickets.Is there someone who wants to help me?Thank you!

I’ve been very ill recently taking pills to recover so it changed my travel plans. I missed my activation date of pass, what can i do? i don’t mind cutting my trip short as i don’t need the full 30 day pass

I bought eurail global pass for 5 flexible days in a month on 9 April 2023 on Klook app. I plan to travel London to Paris on 27 May 2023 and the train requires seat reservation. I am required to activate my pass on Eurail app to reserve a seat. If I reserve my seat now on 10 April 2023 for travel on 27 May 2023, will I be using up my one month validity start right now until 9 May 2023 or the one month validity only starts when I board the train on 27 May 2023? 

Hi, eight of us have 1st class global pass for 5 days in a month. I couldn’t find train from Paris to Zermatt for 30 May 2023 12pm so I reserved Paris Lyon to Mulhouse. Now how do I get from Mulhouse to Zermatt? When it says “no reservation required” do I still need to buy a ticket to board the next train or just board with the eurail mobile pass? I have children with me, will we be separated if I don’t reserve seats? Appreciate the help. Tq. 

Hi allWe were due to travel today with reserved seats first class but we can't travel due to my partner doing her back in. We are getting some drugs and staying in bari another night. Hopefully she can travel tomorrow. I have looked for us to catch a train tomorrow to  Rome but seems no seats available to book. What can we do? Ideally we want to get to rome by tomorrow evening to pick up the night train to Munich we have booked at 8pm.  Any advice appreciated, thanks  

HiAre these trains (either Berlin or Hamburg) running in early October 2023?I know it’s early in terms of booking but I see on weeks earlier timetables that the SJ346 has potential line closures around the dates I want to book although the snalltaget 300 train doesn’t appear to be so affected?Any ideas on when the timetable for these trains for the 1st week in October 2023 should appear?Appreciate any thoughts / advice.

Hello!I am a first time Eurail user and finding it a bit confusing to understand. My partner and I have Eurail global passes. We are needing to travel from San Sebastian/Donastia to Madrid on 4 June 2023. I am still confused about what trains are included in the pass.Eurail says it includes Alvia trains. I understand that Eurail does not have the most accurate schedules on the website/app. Rail Europe shows a train on this day departing San Sebastián/Donostia at 8:50am and arriving to Madrid-Chamartin at 1:56pm. This train does not show on the Eurail planning app or website. Can someone please confirm:Will we be able to take this train using our Eurail pass?Is it correct that we cannot make our seat reservation until we are in Spain and do so in person at the ticket desk? Thank you in advance!  

We have a 2 month first class pass and are heading to Norway today. I have booked reservations for long distance trains. It's a faff to book reservations on Norwegian trains because you can't just do it online.On seat 61 it says that reservations are needed on "long distance trains" which implies they are not needed on all trains.  My question is, is there an easy way to know if we need a reservation for a particular train? Is the interrail app accurate in this respect? I've just added a journey from Oslo Airport to the main station and there is no flag on the app saying that a reservation is needed but I'm not sure whether to trust that or not. And another related question - can we book "SJ NORD premium" seats with our 1st class pass? Are they included?  Many thanks!

How can I book seat reservations on a train from Barcelona to Malaga from overseas ? Is it possible on the Renfe website ? Or is it only possible at a desk in a Spanish station ? 

Hi Fellow travellers, I am struggling a bit with the APP and as with other users concerned about my planned travel.I successfully activated my account and created my 1st trip. I managed to link that to my pass a few days ago - we take our 1st trip tomorrow.I have since created several other journeys but cannot link them to my Pass.THERE IS NO TOGGLE BUTTON TO ACTIVATE. So while it may be prudent to not link until ready to travel but to have no toggle button suggests that I will not be able to link when ready.Thanks in advance

Hey, important information for all travellers in Italy on 14 April there will be a strike from 9:01 to 16:59. Trains of Trenitalia, Trenitalia TPER and Trenord can be affected. Some long distance trains and Frecciarossa high speed trains are guaranteed, the others can get cancelled. Trenitalia has stoped to sell tickets for Frecciarossa trains that are not guaranteed. Trains can be affected from the strike before and after this.More informations on trenitalia.com cc @Mukhammad @Camilo. 

Hi, I am asking for a friend who is US American based in Germany for years, who wants to purchase the Eurail Pass. He intends going between Germany and Austria several times back and forth. 1.) He also has a German residency and can purchase an Interrail pass. But adding Germany as resident country makes it impossible going several times back and forth between Germany and Austria, right?2.) If he is purchasing the Eurail Pass, is there the same restriction? Thx upfront!
