Get ready to travel

Hi guys, I have an inter-rail pass (15 days in 2 months)So I want too take the train from Port-Bou (Spain) too Zurich (Switzerland) in one day, and there is a route with no seat reservations required,However the layover times are quite short (12 minutes - 20 minutes) and the site only says “no seat reservation required” “your ready to board”My question is, do I still need to somehow book physical tickets for these trains? I take it I cannot hop off one train, and straight onto the next without actually having a ticket?And in that sense, is 12/20 minutes enough time too book these tickets once I hop off the train, considering I do not speak French, or German so might be a little hard to navigate the train stations and quickly get the ticket I need?Because the ticket thing I’m looking at on my interrail app has all the journeys for that day, so the QR code is the ticket for each journey? and in that case where do I sit? just anywhere? Also, should I take my Passport or is an ID card enou

hello, I brought a 2 month mobile pass in the 50% sale 10/05/2022the last day for the activation is 10 april. what is the last travel day?is it still possible to travel the 2 months after april?😊Thanks,

Hey, i am starting my first interrail soon and have a question bc Im afraid to do something wrong and having problems since i travel alone. I need to activate my Pass before 10th of April, so before I forget i really wanna Do it now..but:My first travel date is 18th of April.I will fly to spain on 13th, stay in one city for some days, and start my travel with train then on 18th. Since i read that I can only book Reservation IN spain and Reservation is mandatory: What if I connect a train now (i need to add a train i will take right?) and when Im in spain the seats are not available anymore for this train? I would rather activate my pass right before my travel as adviced but since my travel date is after the day where I need to activate its not possible. Also second question, what if for any reason I can not  take the train on 18th I have chosen? Is it true I then can not use my whole pass anymore? So is this first train fixed??  Thank you so much for your helpJohanna

Hi, I'm planning to travel on the EC9 from Muenster to Zuerich on april 9, leaving at 9.03 and arriving at 17.00. The Rail Planner app says I need to change in Basel Bad BF to (the same?) EC9. When I look at this train in the Deutsche Bahn app it says it's a direct connection. I'm confused whether I need to make a transfer to the same or another train, can anyone help me? Kind regards, Henk-Jan

Hii’m new to the interrail community. I have a general question regarding the rules of travelling.I’m thinking to use the 10 day in 2 months option. Is it  allowed to travel to a certain city in europe and then continue by car to another city and there continue my trip by train. Or do you need to always leave the city by train if you entered it like that?is it thus allowed that your total trip does not form a complete loop?thanks in advance

We have booked to travel from Naples to Milan and added it to my trip but cannot see the global pass anymore 

We are travelling on the Eurostar today on a later time than expected. We have reservations for the correct train but it won’t allow me to add it to the pass as it says I have used up the outbound stage - but obviously we haven’t- it won’t let me change  help!!

As  above  my  pass has  a  large expiration date and number of uses. But the mobile pass is full. I ask for a quick response and a resolution. We need a pass now because we still traveling.

I am trying to book a train for my son and friend from London to Paris in a few weeks and every train every day says Prices Unavailable.   I find that very hard to believe, a Thursday in late April?  Not sure why they bought passes when availability is limited.   Can someone let me know if I’m getting something wrong.   

Hi, we are in Australia, travelling to Europe in 2 weeks. We have booked all our trains. We have been struggling with booking ‘seat reservations’ on the appropriate trains. A travel agent has now said that we cannot do that from here, and needs to be done when we get to each station. Is this correct? We have the travel train tickets on our Eurail passes, does this guarantee out travel, irrespective of the seat reservation? Thanks again. 

Hi everyone, I have booked seat reservations on eurail.com for my 1st class pass and as stated here (https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/reservations/trains-with-additional-supplements ) I was expecting supplement fee to be included as my reservation costed me 17 EUR per person. Unfortunately I don’t see anything regarding supplement in my PDF confirmation and now support told me, there is no supplement included and that I should buy one. The reservation itself doesn’t cost 17 EUR, so I don’t get it. Anybody has the same experience? Did you have problems with conductor at the train?Thanks,Jacob

Hello,I have a few questions about seat reservations in the Czech Republic, Portugal and Spain.Can I buy seat reservation on the ceske drahy website, there are no options for Interrail ticket? Other times I buy seat reservation, there was most time an option for Interrail tickets. Is this possible to buy a “only reservation ticket” or is this false.I know I have to buy seat reservations in Portugal and Spain at the station. I want to arrive 1–2 days in Spain before my ride, is this enough time to buy my seat reservations in Spain? Furthermore, I need to take in the most times the exactly same train to arrive.Aside from that, can I buy seat reservation for Portugal in Spain and for Spain in Portugal? Because I arrive in Portugal with the train there where I need the seat reservation.

As from today it is possible to make Interrail/Eurail reservations for both seats, beds in sleeper and chouchette on the SJ Euronight between Stockholm and Hamburg Altona. For dates after the 10th of December, reservations can only be made at sj.se .According to the information I have reservations will not be possible through ÖBB as there are problems with the communication between the ÖBB and SJ reservation systems.

Hello, I don’t know how to make use or how to reserve boat trips with my eurail pass, any help??

Hi, I can see on DB website an overnight train (and when I click on further details it says EuroNight) from Prague to Frankfurt (18:26h EN40458), however when I proceed to book a seat, it doesn’t offer me the option to book a couchette, only the 4,50€ option for a seat. Do I have to book the couchette offline on the day or how does it work?Thank you! 

How do I use my eurail global pass for making reservations on European trains ( spain Italy)

Hallo, kann ich eine Sitzplatzreservierung umgehen indem ich im Zug stehe. Von Bologna nach Florenz für eine halbe Stunde 12 Euro mit Global Pass  

Whenever I try to make a reservation I’m able to add it to my bag, but when I go to buy it, it says it is no longer available. Then when I search again for a different ticket, the journey appears to be available again!What’s going on?

Hi! I have bought my Eurail Pass, added my Bologna to Riomaggiore trip, and paid for the one fast train service from Bologna to Florence.  What I’m confused about is there are 3 other trains: Florence to Pisa, Pisa to La Spezia, and La Spezia to Riomaggiore.  These three trains don’t need seat reservations.  Do I need to buy tickets for these trains or does my pass QR work for them? I can see them all listed under the pass ticket but I didn’t want to run into any issues on board. 

I had a seat reservation in Eurail, from central Amsterdam to Berlin hbf, the train to Amsterdam was cancelled and we could not take that train. Can the seat reservation be returned?

I got a question regarding our upcoming trip to Italy. We plan to travel from Florence to Pompeii with train, however it doesn't appear to be possible to book the trip directly, as the train stops in Napels. Do we need a seperate train ticket besides our interrail passes from Napels to Pompeii or are we missing something? Thank you in advance!

We are hoping to catch a bus on the above route ( no trains) on 13 April. Entur can’t help and referee us to the website Nordland Reis. I can see there is a bus but I can’t book a ticket from the site. Would appreciate any advices . Thanks
