Get ready to travel

Hello, I am traveling to Switzerland and Italy this upcoming summer. I am a Canadian citizen. I plan on taking the EC311 Venezia S.Lucia ItaliaRail train from Zurich HB to Venice (Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia). Does the Eurail Global Pass include this train ride? Thank you very much. 

Hi2nd year of rail pass travel with my son so we’re much more organised this year, however the delay in being able to book the last seat reservations for a key step in our journey back home is causing me some worry.we need to book on the 13:34 TGV Zurich to Paris on 10th August but bookings are still only open till around mid June, 3 months till pass reservations open I believe.However the price of the reservations with the pass is around 74 euros, no choice of seat location and risk I don’t get in quick enough due to limited pass seats.Whereas I can book that train now, via a few places but say the rail europe site for 77 euros (plus booking fee) and be able to chose an upstairs seat (obviously!) and rest easy.The few euros difference for peace of mind and an upstairs seat seems worthwhile or am I missing a trick.What would you do?Thanks

Hey guys, I was wondering if you have to use a travel day for traveling within a country or if you can travel freely from city to city with the interrail pass

My family will travel in Spain this July - from France to Barcelona to Mallorca, then Seville. I am trying to reserve tickets on Eurail ahead, but they don't let you do that in Spain for some strange reason. We will be stay in Barcelona for 3 days then fly to Mallorca and back then down to Seville. We need to do the Mallorca to Seville trip in one day.  But I can't find anything listed about times in Spain. I need to know so I know when to book the Mallorca flight. Please help me.

Hey there,My train fromm Paris to Barcelona was canceld so i booked it to an earlyer one. The women at the service Center booked my new Reservation and now i saw it's in First class but i only have an Pass for second class. So is this a Problem?

Hello everyone,Sorry first time poster here. :)My partner and I are travelling through Portugal early April. i read that seat reservations can only be bought from vending machines and ticket offices inside Portugal and I just want some reassurance that they won't sell out around that time of year?Basically, we've had to rejig our entire trip because Eurostar seat reservations had sold out. (Hence the paranoia!) So instead we're flying to Faro instead and travelling up. The plan is to arrive 31 March. Take the train to Lisbon on the 1st, to Porto on the 2nd, and then to Vigo on the 3rd. Thanks! 

Hello,my name is Finn. I bought an Interrail ticket with a 50% discount.The country of residence on my ticket is Germany, but I actually live in Austria.I haven't activated the pass yet. Is it possible to change the country of residence from Germany to Austria? Best regards Finn

We just used the Eurail website to book 1st class business class tickets for a group of 4. The tickets we were sent are for Trenitalia. The problem is that our group of 4 is not sitting together. The seats assigned are not one of the 4 person seats around a table. We checked the Trenitalia website and there are plenty of 4-seat options for a group of 4. How can we change our seats to one of the 4 seat options. We were able to bring up our tickets on Trenitalia’s website, but it will not let us change the seats. Is there another option that will allow us to change out seats so that we are sitting together.

I am buying my Eurail Pass and before I do, I would like to ask a question.  I want to set a couple of Reservations up now but I am not traveling until the 1st of June. I am getting a Mobile not Paper.Question.... in order to make the reservation do I have to activate my pass... I am not talking about linking (unless "linking" is the same as "reserving")?Any tips or "things to watch out for" when making reservations would also be appreciated!Thank you

I want to buy my Global Eurail Pass during this 10% sale but my passport has not arrived yet. Question... can I buy the Eurail Pass now and enter my Passport Information later or is it you got to enter the information when you buy the Pass?Thank you very much in advance!

We are planning our train schedules for Spain and Portugal this summer. We find trains for all of our travels except for Porto to Saniago de Compostela to Segovia in July. No trains come up for this route. Up to Porto and Segovia into France show trains in July so I would not think that it is schedules aren’t available. Any thoughts?

Hi, I wondered if anybody else has had the misfortune to make an error like I have and double booked the Eurostar ?I booked a journey and for some reason it was duplicated ( probably something to do with my less than up to date computer skills ! ) and so I have now paid for two journeys for exactly the same people at exactly the same time.I contacted eurorail to explain this was a mistake and was told curtly by email that sorry I could not get a refund.I understand the no exchange / cancellation by the ticket holder policy but surely if you have made a genuine mistake its a bit poor to be penalised by eurorail who have been known to make the odd mistake themselves…..Does anyone have any advice please ? ( other than sharpen up my computer skills which is a given...)Many thanks

HiI wonder if anyone can help me? I shall wake up in Montpellier this Saturday and will take a local train to Nimes and then I have reservations for the train to Paris at 1214hrs so I can get my Eurostar reservation back to London leaving Paris at 1713hrs.  The problem is that SNCF has emailed to say that they have cancelled the train from Nimes.  Does anyone know what I can do so I get back to London on Saturday please? 

Hello! Newbie to rail travel and I’m trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B and when I need to book a reservation. I purchased a 5 day Eurail pass for myself and my daughter. I have read that it is possible to get around the UK without train reservations but I’m struggling with when I need to have a seat reservation and when I can use the Rail Planner app on the day of travel. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve left it to last minute if I need to book a reservation because I see many options are not available now. This trip was fairly last minute to begin with so I’m trying to make it work! :-) I only booked my airfare less than 2 weeks ago!I have booked and paid for a seat reservation on Eurostar for the trip from Paris to London and back. So yay! I’ve got that arranged. No other train travel or hotels have been booked/reserved yet. I cannot book a reservation while logged in. The ‘Book reservation’ button just disappears. Why?In the first screenshot beneath, the button is there but I’am not logged in. In the second I am logged in, which is needed to proceed with the booking, but the button disappears. How do I now book a reservation? 

I ordered our passes by 7 June 2022.  Eurail shows payment as received, but hasn’t yet sent the passes by mail.  It claims we will receive these by 16 July 2022.We are in Australia and depart for overseas towards the end of September 2022.With previous Eurail Golbal Passes years ago, I had always bought a paper pass locally from a Eurail-affiliated travel agent, but the only one in Melbourne I tracked down said it only sells mobile passes (at a substantial added cost to the price the Eurail site charges.We don’t want mobile passes as I can’t rely on smartphones, and as a bonus I enjoy filling in the record of travel and posting it to Eurail once back in Australia.I realise the Eurail office is likely to be very busy (and perhaps is having difficulty obtaining sufficient staff) but there’s not even a Eurail Aid office in London, UK, Paris or France yet the UK is where we commence our travel.It’s impossible to book seats on compulsory reserved seat trains until we have the paper Pass num

Hi community, I bought a mobile global Interail pass a few days ago and since then I have to say my experience with Interail website and customer service has been completely awful. I was first able (after experiencing many problems with Interrail website though) to book my first trip: Colmar (France) - London. Unfortunately after that it has been impossible for me to buy my second trip on the website: London - Bern on the 31st of July 2022 or even only London - Paris via Eurostar.The website says ‘prices unavailable. Check back in a few hours to see prices and book this seat reservations’. I have been checking now for many many hours and days and it is still the same.I have to add that before I bought my pass I was able to check the prices of these trips and all on their webiste, so I really don’t understand what is going on now.  Then I wrote Interail customer service several times from last Friday and still got no answer from them. I have been looking on forums and websites for hours

Reading thru this section of Q/A I believe I cannot book seat reservations via the Eurail site, without FIRST activating my pass.  Some have said to book reservations directly on the specific train site, but when I tried to do that for SBB.ch, it didn’t give me a section to show my 1st class Eurail pass, so it wanted to change me a huge price for the seats.  So I went back to the Eurail site to activate my passes, since I am 99.9% certain of my first day of train travel.  The Eurail site wouldn’t let me activate it online...with the message that I can only activate an online pass at the time of purchase OR in person at a train station.   Am I understanding this correctly??   Thank you in advance

Hello the last date to activate my 2 month pass is 10th April, can i activate it on that day  then start to use it for the very first time  on the 14th April ?
