Hi. We’re a family of four trying to book (2nd class) seat reservations for April. We’ve managed to get reservations via the eurail website for our Amsterdam to Bruges journey but the journey down to Lyon and then back up Paris is drawing blanks on all trains on all days. Surely not all of the pass holder allocations have booked already? Any advice or help very much appreciated as I am losing the plot trying to figure out how or where to get these reservations booked.
We live in the UK and purchased an interrail global pass back in October 2022 and planning on using the pass from July 2023 around Europe for 3 months, is this okay with the new rules in place with the EU or would we need to purchase an Eurail pass.
My plan is to buy the pass then aim to travel from UK to France at the start of March. I don’t have a set date and I don’t have a set schedule; just stop where I like depending on the weather and move on when I’m done. Planning to circle Europe (through France down to Monte Negro, then back up and across to Spain and Portugal before returning to UK via France. The ‘7days in a month’ pass looks the best deal to me.My question is: do I need an itinerary? Every time I visit the Eurail site it keeps asking me for ‘destination’ and ‘plan your trip’…? My destination is back home eventually, and I don’t want to make a set plan…...is this Ok with Eurail or do I need to specify anything? Many thanks, Andy

I would like to make seat reservations with our Eurail passes for the following train:July 16, Stuttgart 14:52 - Paris Est 18:05, ICE 9572. Seat reservations are required. The Rail planner app says that you can book this train only up to 90 days in advance, but tickets are already for sale at DB, for example. Can I book seats directly on the DB website or some other way? Thank you.
Chatbot tells me that some buses operated to rail companies are covered by the Interrail pass. However, it is not clear to me how I am supposed to establish whether this applies to a route I wish to take, from Roscoff ferry port to Morlaix in France..How can I find out?
I am from Australia and I am travelling through Europe for 6 weeks starting early June. I will travel by train. PAR - ZUR - APPENZEL - LUCERNE - INNSBRUK . FUSSEN - MUNICH. And later MUN - BUDAPEST. I have done a lot of searching on this community page but I don’t understand how I book my rail tickets and pay with the pass at all. Sorry, in my defense I’m 62 !
Hi everyone, We're planning on getting the one-country-pass for Italy. Our country of residence is Switzerland. So the ticket won't be valid in CH, only after the border. The connection will be Bern-Milano-Rome. I can't figure out how to get a ticket from Bern to Milan. Will the interrail ticket be valid from the border (Domodossola) or only after the first stop in Italy? The lady at the SBB counter said I needed to purchase the Anschlusszug-ticket from Bern to Milan (?) via Interrail, not via SBB. I can't find any info on connecting trains on the interrail website…HELP! Thank you so much.
First of all - thanks to all on the forum for the clarifications provided over the last few days. You have eased my path significantly. What I think I’ve realised is that the term trip as used in the Interrail context seems to be misleading. Trip as used in the app is a collection of potential moves from point A to point B, point B to point C, but also point B to points D, E, F, G & H - it’s like a pick list or a wish list. You can define any number of journeys in a trip, and you can travel on some or all of them. So it’s not actually a trip. Your actual trip may go A-B-C-H, or maybe A-B-C-E.A trip in Interrail terms is only a list of possible travel legs which may or may not be taken.A trip in ordinary usage is an actual journey - “I’m planning a trip from Edinburgh(A) to Nice(D), via London(B) and Paris(C).” or “I took a trip from Edinburgh(A) to Milan(H), via London(B) and Paris(C). I went to Milan instead of Nice because the weather was bad in Nice on the day.”It may seem
I am trying to buy seat reservations for France. It’s slightly more than 90 days so I can’t book the reservations through the Rail Planner app as they are not available yet. However each time I look the trains seem to be booking out quickly so is there a way I can book them on the French rail SNCF website? I can’t find where to do it anywhere through the search function on their website.
Is having kids in 1 class “disrespectful” in southern Europe? I feel like 1 class is a bit more like a “business people class” in Italy and Spain. Don’t want to upset any business men who paid a premium price only to get the seat next to a 7 year old
I have just purchase my global pass today and I am trying to make a reservation. Why would it show that the train that I am booking requires a seat reservation but at the same time does not engage so that I can actually reserve a seat. If the train is fully booked, I would hope that it would tell me so but it does not. The seat reservation is for 3 months from today.
hello to everyone! can anyone tell me the best route for two months on europe by interrail ?? ty!!!
If the train that I want to add into my trip say “ seat reservations recommended “Must I buy the seat reservation?or it is no problem if I don’t buy this
I ordered my daughters and my passes on one order, but we each have added our own pass on our own device. I am doing all the bookings however, so if I duplicate my trip and add her pass number to the second trip on my device - will the bookings then show up on her phone so she can access her ticket?I would prefer us to have tickets and access on our own devices in case one of us loses or damages our phone.
Hello,I have a Eurail pass and need to make required seat reservations for trains between Nimes and Girona in June and between Stuttgart and Paris in July. I have found out from the planner app and several other sources that seat reservations are only available 90 days in advance, so it’s too early right now. What puzzles me is that if I go to any websire that sells train tickets (e.g., Trainline or SNCF-connect), I can already buy these tickets with the seat reservation included. Does anyone know why this is the case or how this makes sense? And what are my chances of still finding available seats if anyone can buy the seats already now when they pay point-to-point?Thanks!
Kindly help me with the below question Does Eurail pass include travel by TGV Inoui?
Come posso pagare dall’app il posto quando è richiesto?
Hello, I tried to reserve a seat this morning for an extra fee but it didn't work on the website. Indeed, my Italy trip with all my trains did not appear anymore, nor the travelers participating in the trip (me). I tried to connect with my pass number at least 5 times and it didn't appear each time.So I had to pay a new train ticket on the French SNCF Connect application in 1st class at 235,30€ (almost the full price of the pass) since I couldn't book other trains to Paris from Interrail.I don’t know what to do as I don’t find any number to call in Interrail. thanks for your advice.
Hi,I do know how to create a trip, save journeys to it and add the journey to my pass. Bit I miss some other information on this item. I plan to buy a 6 travel day for Switzerland. Does this mean that I make 6 trips in total, one for each day? Thus implicating that one trip corresponds to one travel date and I can add as many train journeys to that particular trip as I want to. probably obvious but I want to make sure prior to buying the card. Thanks,Threes
Hi there,I booked 3 month passes for two people last year when they were discounted for the Interrail anniversary and am now planning on using it.I’m very, very confused though. I created a trip in the web application at interrail.eu (called “My interrail trip”) and added myself and another person to it. But I don’t see this on the phone app, even though the pass has been added and activated on the phone.I created a trip (“Summer”) on my phone app and added myself and the other person as travelers there, but the other person can’t see the trip details on their phone and I can’t see it on the web app even though I created it.All I’m trying to do is start our 3 months on a known day and where necessary reserve seats for various journeys over the 3 month period. I gather from other posts that reserving through this site can be a bit hit and miss and will be using some train operators sites directly for that. What is the minimum I need to do in order to make sure that when we turn up o
Following my question asking why the Railplanner app tells you you need to buy a reservation at a cost of €6 for UK train travel I received the following answer: Trains in UK (apart from sleepers and Eurostar) do not require any reservations. You can just yous the pass and sit on unreserved seats just as you would with any ordinary unreserved ticket. All you need do is fill in the trains you use on your pass and you are free to board. If you wish you can get free reservations at ticket offices by showing your pass. By making an account on the GWR.com website you can also use their free seat reservation tool.My question again is: In that case, WHY does the app suggest a fee is payable?
Hi. Can anyone please tell me whether the global pass scan code on the mobile app changes when you create a new journey on your trip or does it stay the same throughout. For example, if you took a photo of the scan code at the start of your trip could you just use that if you went out of signal along the route. Thanks
Greeting,We are trying to reserve seats from Salerno to Rome on the OBB account. However, they keep saying no tickets is available even though it is recommended to reserve seats 2 months in advance. What should we do?
