Good day. I am 60 yrs old. My wife is 62. Son is 20. Daughter 25. We are vacationing in Vienna in early June. We want to travel within Austria,take a 2 day trip to Venice(we want to travel there overnight) and hopefully day trips to Prague and Budapest. We’re new to this. What do you recommend as the most convenient vs least expensive trains. Thank you

Hello. My mom from the Philippines bought our Eurail passes. We will be travelling around Europe for the holidays.She put my residency as "Philippines". However, I have a Student Residency Permit here in Spain and reside here in the EU more than in the Philippines. • I hold a Philippine passport and a Philippine National ID which shows my home address in the Philippines.• But my Philippine passport only shows an expired Spanish Visa because I have only kept renewing my Student Residency Card in Spain. Will I encounter any problems since I have a Eurail Pass and not an Interrail?What's the best thing to do regarding my situation?

Hi, I live in Germany with a permanent residency but I am a non-EU citizen (of course with a valid non-EU passport). Can I choose to travel with Eurail pass instead of Interrail pass? I would really prefer to travel with Eurail pass as Germany’s central location and interrail pass’ inbound/outbound rule renders the interrail pass kinda useless if I want to say travel a few days to France and some days on the other side of Germany, to say Austria (unless I take some complicated route that doesn’t include journey’s in Germany). The language on eurail website creates a bit of a grey area (as it’s mentioned there that non-EU citizens who reside in the EU can ‘choose’ to buy an interrail pass). If I buy an eurail pass by providing the details of my non-EU passport, would it be fine or would I get into trouble? Has anybody been fined for such cases?  To be really honest, this inbound/outbound rule is very very inconvenient and frustrating, especially for people like me who live in central eu

Hi,I have seat reservations with DB from Köln Hbf, 23.12.2025 08:49 to Utrecht Centraal, 23.12.2025 10:59. The train is ICE 220.When I search in the Eurail app this train journey does not show up. It does not let me select Köln Hbf as an option for the outgoing train station.When I try to add the trip manually, the dates and times seem to be getting messed up and it shows the journey as 26+ hours. I do not want to add this trip as I am worried that it will use 2 days of the Eurail pass instead of the 1 day as the journey is around 2 hours.Can someone please advise what would be the best option to do here?

Hello.I'm going to the UK in the summer with Interrail and I'm going to get a new passport, and I'd like to buy a global pass now. My question is, can I give my ID card number or current passport number when purchasing, even though I'm going to the UK, or am I out of luck and have to buy it after I get my new passport? Or can it be changed later? Or will an ID card be sufficient to prove my identity in the UK?

Hello,I’m hoping to travel from London to Bologna (Italy) in autumn 2026.  I see there’s a 25% off sale on Interrail passes, but I don’t know if it would actually be cheaper to buy individual tickets.  Because the individual tickets for next autumn aren’t on sale yet, I can’t compare prices.I would be using only high-speed services (Eurostar, TGV, and Frecciarossa) and each of them has a reservation fee for each leg.  For Eurostar it will be 70 euros for the return trip, and I think the other two train companies might have a lower fee, but I can already see that the reservation will cost over 100 euros for the return trip.  I’m probably going via France, but I’m also considering going via Switzerland.I was going to do the journey this way:  Day 1:  London to Paris (Eurostar) then Paris to Chambéry (TGV).  Overnight stay in Chambéry.  Day 2:  Chambéry to Bologna (TGV and Frecciarossa).  I have insomnia so would prefer to stay overnight in an Airbnb rather than taking a sleeper train.  I

Can I use my Eurail pass to travel from Paris to Fontainebleau?

I have ordered a Eurail Global Pass for 2 months/15 days flexi use. I am getting a printed version of the pass (not mobile), because I often tend to lose or break my phone while on trips. I prefer to keep the physical passes with me, not use the app.  My main question is, do I have to wait until I receive the passes in the mail to book seat reservations on trains? Is it true that to book seats using a Eurail Pass, we must input the Eurail Pass number somewhere in the seat reservation? What is the best website to book seat reservations using an Eurail Pass?Your answers, much appreciated.

Hello - my first post here …..  I live in France and am thinking of buying the Senior 4-Day Global Pass under the current 25% discount.I will use it to travel as follows :One day will be : Paris to London and then London to ManchesterThen the return, also in one day : Manchester to London and London to ParisMy question is - can I do this or not? I will be on 2 trains in the UK twice on the same day - Lon/Mancs/Lon … but also the UK leg of the Eurostar each day ….I’m looking for a flexible ticket , that I can activate when needed anytime over the next year - this to be able to visit my elderly brother and spend a few days or up to a month with him as needed. The Interrail Global Pass seems to offer what I need - plus much more flexibility and a pleasanter journey than flying and a much better price.Thank you in advance for your adviceJulie  

Hello everyone, I am actually traveling but my trip will soon end. I planned to come back from Berlin to Avignon with two different trains: One from Berlin to Strasbourg on the 18th of December. And the second is from Strasbourg to Avignon on the 19th of December. I went to a train station to book my seats because I saw somewhere you could include both trains in your pass. Even if one is from France to France. My problem is the train from Strasbourg to Avignon doesn't appeared on my pass. I kept a day free on my pass especially in case a controller says something. But what else can I do ? Thank you in advance for your precious advices ! 

Hi - two of us are travelling on Eurail Global passes (2nd class) and want to book a private sleeper cabin on the SJ night train from Abisko to Stockholm (D93).On the Eurail site it only seems to provide the option to book 2 berths/beds in a shared 3 berth sleeper cabin, not a private cabin. Is there any way of booking a private 3 berth sleeper cabin or is that not possible with a Eurail pass?thanks

I bought my 4 day travel pass on December 6th. I intend to use it January 1, 3, 6, and 9. It states that I can use it within one month. Can I use it one month within purchase date or one month within the first travel day? 

Hello. I have a first global pass. I want to reserve a seat from Lyon Francce to Tolulouse Matabiu. I have tried throug snfc and trainline, but both include the cost of the tiket, but I need only the seat. Could someone give me an advice ? Thanks

Hello everybody,I am new in the community and first time in Interrail. I got the first class Global Pass, but in my reservation for 20 december I have to pay 8 Euros from München to Zürich. But I have seen, if I have the second class Global Pass I have to pay also 8 Euros. Can I buy a pass months in advance

I am planning my trip to Europe after 14th December 2025 (the second Sunday). I need to reserve seats on some trains, but I can’t find any trains after that date. When will the new timetable be updated, and when will I be able to make reservations?

I paid for a seat yesterday.However, I was notified that the purchase was too late, but the money was still deducted EUR22When I arrived at the station, the staff asked me to pay EUR20 for a seat. 

Hi, I have booked a train from Vienna to Krakow through OBB website, with Global Pass discount and paid for the seat reservations. Trouble I am having is that the train I booked through OBB (depart Vienna 1210 on 18th December) isn't showing in the rail planner app.My question is how/what do I need to do to ensure I am able to board the train and add it to my Eurail Pass?Thanks,

Hello everyone, just now I was trying to book seat reservation for a train from London to Edinburgh in July. The system didn’t show any availability because July is still too far away. So I tested with an earlier date just to see how the reservation system works. I put in a random date and followed the steps by selecting a random train and a random seat type. (I didn’t really understand the differences among all the seat types) Then I clicked continue, the next thing it shows my booking is completed, and it also says on the page “you can’t amend or refund this booking”. I couldn’t find any options to cancel or delete this order as it was only for a test. Does anyone know what I can do in this situation?Thank you in advance.🙏
