To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more

My wife purchased Eurorail pass for the both of us. Do I need to create a separate account to access?
Recently we ended up (lost bag, found bag, missed flight, long story) getting an SNCF Intercites du Nuit sleeper at short notice.Because our plans only came together 40 or 50 minutes before the train was due we were unable to buy the reservation online. Because there were no staffed ticket desks we were unable to buy the reservation in person. There were SNCF staff in the station halls, but none with the ability to sell a reservation. This was Cannes on a busy Sunday evening and not some tiny station with 1 train an hour.We were advised to wait until the train arrived and buy a reservation from the conductor. Obviously this would only work if there was space available. If there wasn’t any space we were happy enough to stay in Cannes overnight. So, we waited. The train arrived and we approached the conductor to establish if there was space. He confirmed there was and we asked to buy the reservation. He began issuing the ticket.Or so we thought. The whistle blew and he was about to
Hello. I'm starting my trip in Palermo on December 1st. After I entered my schedule into the app, I checked the image and it showed my trip starting on December 2nd. I was supposed to take a sleeper train to Milan on December 1st (departing at 12:58), but it seems to have been removed from my schedule. It also seems like the total kilometers traveled has been omitted from the calculation. I hope this will be fixed in an app update.
ho acquistato un interrail pass il 17 dicembre 2024 validità per 7 giorni in un mese. posso utilizzarlo dal 20 novembre 2025 al 8 dicembre 2025? grazie per l'attenzione
Hi, guys.I’d rather have a printed copy of the my Interrail/Global Pass, besides the digital one.Something physical. Could anybody tell me how could I ask for one? Thanks a lot, miquel
Hello, I am going from Milano to Palermo in November. I went the Eurail app to put the journey into my Trip. When I went to go and select our seats, it would only let me do the booking for a sleeper from Milano to Messina. So now I have a seat reservation from Milano to Messina, but I can’t find the ability to get a seat reservation on that same train to Palermo. Do I need one? Can someone please help me?
Me and my friend have bought the 2 month continuous pass on separate devices to use in May/June next year. We aren’t sure how to book seat reservations so that we’ll sit together since they’re on separate devices. Also, we heard booking the Eurostar as soon as possible is best. But we don’t know how to book the Eurostar with the interrail pass or how to add it to our trips. I saw people say you add the train to your trips after you’ve bought the reservation and use the swipe button to confirm the train on your trips after you’ve. But I can’t see that on my app, so can you only do this when it’s activated? And if so, how can you book the Eurostar in advance since we won’t activate it until May 1st. Hope that makes sense, any advice would be amazing 😊 thank you x
Hi everyoneI’m planning my trip for this summer. I’ve already bought my pass. The pass is connected to “my interrail trip”. Today, I downloaded the app and I wanted to add my pass. I was able to add my pass but in the second step I am not able to choose my trip called “my interrail trip”. I just can create a new trip. According to the guide I would have here the option to choose “my interrail trip”. What can I do?Thanks for your help!
Hi. I’ll be traveling from Barcelona to Italy during the month of december. My first stop is Torino, and then on to the South. On my way back, it’ll be the same: Torino to BCN through France. The question is that I don’t intend to stay in France, but I’ve to cross it. Can I still buy a one-only-country pass? I mean an Italian Pass. Which is cheaper than the Global Pass. Thanks a lot for your cooperation
I’ve been looking at the Plus pass, with inclusive reservations, and there are a few things that aren’t clear from the list.https://plus.interrail.eu/en/global-plus-pass#credits1 - How many credits do the international high-speed trains between France-Spain require? I’m guessing from the page, that it’s 0 on the AVE and 1 on the TGV, but it’s not clear. 2 - Will Iryo (Spain) and Trenitalia (France domestic, and France-Italy) also have inclusive reservations when they join the pass network, or will they require credits? 3 - Are there any plans to offer the option for more than 3 inclusive credits? Coming from the UK, I would have to use two credits for Eurostar, meaning there’s only ever one remaining for any trip. 4 - It says ‘most’ international TGVs require 1 credit. Does that include TGV-Lyria, the France-Belgium, and France-Germany TGVs? What about the ICE to Germany? 5 - The pass description only mentions reservations. Where there are supplements required, such as between Italy &a
Hi, I’m having trouble booking two seat reservations for the RENFE direct service AVE INT #9742 from Lyon Part Dieu to Barcelona Sants on December 27th, departing 14:35 and arriving 19:23. As far as I can see, this train does not seem to show up on interrail.eu. It does show up on RailEurope.com and on HappyRail, but when I look for seat reservations for two people with an Interrail Global pass I only get the standard fee of about €100 each. However, I am able to book a single seat for the standard Interrail fee of €10 through RailEurope. But when I then try to add a second single seat to my basket, I get an error message stating that Unfortunately it appears that this fare may no longer be available from the rail operator. It may be that the price or availability has changed. Please try performing a new search or selecting a different departure time or ticket type. This would suggest that there’s only a single Interrail fee seat left. But on HappyRail it seems that there are plenty seat
Travelling around Germany last week, I found myself in the situation where I was able to catch an earlier train than planned as it was delayed.Adding the journey to my mobile pass however was quite a hassle as it resulted in an error message saying something like “it looks like you're still on another train”. As a result it was impossible to add the respective train without removing the train I arrived on from my pass first.Although I understand why the error message appeared (I arrived in Hamm on a train with arrival at 16.24 hrs, the train I changed to originally would have departed at 16.20 hrs so in theory this was an impossible change), I don't understand why there is no option at all to override that error and add the train anywayIn this case I ended up in first removing the train I arrived on from my pass, then adding the delayed train I took. And after disembarking at my destination doing the whole thing in reverse again to fix the gap in the statistics again.Shouldn't this be
Hi,Looking to confirm I’m doing this the right way: I want to do Barcelona-Lyon on November 9th but I’m unable to find that train in the interrail app for that day - for (most, not all) other days it does show up.I have no issues finding it on Renfe’s website, and I was also able to get a reservation on that train on raileurope - so my understanding is that I just need to add the train manually in the interrail app and I’m good to go - is this correct?Thank you!
Hello everyone,I’ll start a train trip from France going to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany very soon. I’ll leave from Avignon and my last stop abroad will be Berlin. The thing is I want to come back from Berlin to Avignon but stay for a night in Strasbourg on my way back. Berlin → Strasbourg on the 18th of december. Then, Strasbourg → Avignon on the 19th. The issue is, if I understood well, I can book only one return ticket to France. So if I stop in Strasbourg for one night, the train from Strasbourg to Avignon will not be included. Right ? So, I was thinking: I can book Berlin → Karlsruhe (border with France) + Karlsruhe → Avignon…. But I’ll manage to go by myself from Karlsruhe to Strasbourg and take the train in Strasbourg, not in Karlsruhe. Is it possible ? To pick up the train in Strasbourg instead of Karlsruhe ? Like this, both trains are included in my pass. Thanks, sorry in advance if it’s not comprehensible.
Hello everyone,I’m hesitating between two passes: 7 days / 1 month or 10 days / 2 months. Can I buy the one for 7 days and during my trip, change for the 10 days ? Paying the difference.I’m asking cause I don’t know yet how many days I’ll travel, and I might decide on the moment. Wouldn’t like to waste money or make a wrong move. ThanksCassandre
I am traveling to Germany next April. Most of my routes do not offer a 1st class seat option. Can I book 2nd class and upgrade on a per route basis?
Hello,Why after the date 23th of november 2025, we need to go first to Perpignan and change train when you want to go from Barcelona to Figueres? Before the 24th of November it is possible to go directly from Barcelona to Figueres Vilafant. Strange isn't it?Thank in advance for your answer

I am looking to book a train from Tirano to Firenze (Florence) on an Interrail Pass but the results all send you back north and take 22 hours rather than via Milan - what am I doing wrong?
How can I actually use the credits? Are they visible in the planner app? I am starting to check tickets, and see no possibility that suggests I can use credits for making the reservations. Am I supposed to buy the reservations and then get refunded with credits? I feel this is not easily explained anywhere, and it seems like something directly relevant to all Global Plus Plan ticket customers. Thanks for the help!
Hi all,I’m a German student residing in the UK on a tier 4 student visa. Over Christmas, I want to travel to Germany (and some other countries) using an Interrail Global Pass. When booking the ticket, the form asked for my country of residence. My residence country is the UK, yet, I read in the T&C that I would need to prove my residence at some point. As an EU citizen, I only have digital proof, an e-visa, to prove my residence in the UK. I also have an official document from the German authorities confirming my de-registration from my old residence and indicating my new residence in the UK. However, I don’t have physical proof from the UK authorities of my residence. In related threads, people suggested setting the country of residence to the country of citizenship (in my case Germany) instead. However, I want the one outbound and one inbound journey to apply to my actual country of residence, i.e., the UK.Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and found a solution? Thanks!
Hello if I try to plan a TRIP FROM PATRAS TO ATHENS the planner doesn’t give any possibilities. I says to ‘cut up’ the journey bt that doesnt work neither. who can help me finding the schedules for the trip from Patras to Athens with the planner of Interrail??? Thanks
Hi everyone,I’m a Korean student currently living in Switzerland as an exchange student from the fall semester of 2025 to the spring semester of 2026.I already have a valid Swiss residence permit and visa, both valid until July 31, 2026.I’m currently participating in an Erasmus exchange program and also have an ESN card.I was wondering if I’m eligible to buy the Interrail Pass (instead of the Eurail Pass) and use the Erasmus discount. If I’m eligible, I’m planning to buy the 2-month Interrail Global Pass, and I’d like to confirm whether it works the same way as the Eurail Pass — that is, whether I can travel freely within the covered countries for two months.Thank you in advance for your help!Best,MINJI CHO
