Get ready to travel

We are about to embark on our first trip across Europe using rail rather than flying and am struggling a bit with this notion of seat reservations vs a booking. One specific question I would like guidance on from the community is this. I have a Eurail pass and have booked two first class tickets from Munich to Prague on November 23rd on RE357 aka ALX357. Trying to get a seat reservation has been frustrating. I have checked the CD Bahn.DE and Eurail sites and get various forms of “the train is temporarily unavailable for reservations”. Without a seat reservation am I guaranteed a seat but not a specific assignment or could we show up and not be able to board because it is fully booked. It never states fully booked so I’m trying to decide do I show up and hope I get a seat or do I give up and book another train. This is a direct train so it is far more convenient and the other options have 1 or more quite tight connections <10 minutes. Being new to this and having luggage for two of u

Hi,When can I generate a ticket?I have already connected trips to my pass but cannot generate a ticket.Are we able only generate tickets on the actual travel date itself?My pass is valid November 13 but I have already scheduled my trips there. But when I try to generate a ticket I get this message.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.

Hi everyone! I live in Lyon. If I want to get the eurostar from Paris, is my journey to Paris included as my 'outbound journey', or would my outbound journey be my eurostar? Basically, are both my journey to Paris and my eurostar allowed on the ticket? (it would be the same coming back arriving in Paris on the eurostar and then going back to Lyon). Thanks so much in advance, I’m so confused!!

I am looking to take a quick business trip to Munich preferring to travel by train than flying however the viability of this is determined by Eurostar seat availabiliy.  how can I check this before i commit to buying a 3 day pass?

I will be traveling with my large family of ten (10) this winter. Seat reservations on the website and mobile app seem to be limited to nine travelers maximum per transaction. We could do successive reservations but our fear is we will not be seated together. Any suggestions? 

Hello there kind community, I noticed that the train from Malpensa Aeroporto T1 to Milano Centrale is Not in Pass Network, so means I cannot book the ticket using my Eurail Global Pass?How should I go about in buying a ticket from Malpensa Aeroporto T1 to Milano Centrale? Would appreciate all the kind help that I can get :)

Any ideas if there will be a Black Friday sale this year and if so what it might be?  I saw in years past Eurrail has had sales on this day.

Hi,  i took the 6:05 train from london at pancreas’s to Nottingham (I’m a uk citizen and was using this as one of my outbound journeys) and the train was cancelled due to track issues so had to get a taxi with other passengers the rest of the journey.   i was wondering if there’s any Kind of compensation I could receive any kinda of compensation from the rail company or interail; mainly for the cab price.  thanks 

I’ve purchased the 3 day pass for my family of 4 to visit Paris in December/January.  I’m able to see and reserve seats for the first leg of our trip, that is from Paris to Lyon.  I have “Included in Pass” selected as  search filter. However, when I try to search seats for the second leg (Lyon to Marseille on 1/3/2023, and then Marseille back to Paris on 1/5/2023), I get the error:“Prices unavailableNo price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”This happens for every possible schedule I search, and I’ve included all potential train types.  Is this because all seats on all trains are truly already sold out?  Or is there something else going on?

I am trying to make my train reservations from Lyon Part Dieu to Barcelona Sants for 26.12.  Journey begins at 11:06am. This is a 2 part journey.  It does not look like I can no longer reserve seats for part 1.  When I booked part 2 my transaction goes through but then I receive an email from Eurail stating something went wrong with the reservation.  It is extremely frustrating!  We are on a pretty tight travel schedule.  My biggest concern is getting the ticket from Nimes to Barcelona Sants on the 13:18 train.  I should have more options from Lyon to Nimes (regional train.)  Can anyone advise?

Hi,I am departing from Rome Termini to Rome Airport Fiumicino on 4 November. I purchased the Eurail 1st class pass for all my travels previously.I will like to check do I need to purchase a ticket to be guarantee a seat? I tried to purchase a ticket but most trains show “You're ready to board”. I am just concern that I may not be able to board the train on the actual day.If there is no tickets require to purchase, may I also check what do I show to enter the train platform?What do I show to the train person when he/she checks? Thank you in advance!

Hi again! Ive now successfully purchased all my trains but 1. From Lausanne to Paris. Im trying to book it through oebb but it has said tickets unavailable for weeks, and tickets through sncf are so expensive - they dont accept a eurail pass for discount. Where else can I book them that may be cheaper? Its cheaper through the eurail site at this point. 

Inquiry about youth discount eurail pass.I was born on 26 Dec 1995. And i will travel to Europe during 19 feb 2023-  5 March 2023. I will be 27 ++ years old that time ( not officially 28 yet). So, can i purchase youth eurail pass??

Can someone please tell me if using the Eurail travel pass for discounts on travel in Swiss Alps counts as a travel day on the Eurail card.?  Thank you.

I am not sure what’s wrong with the seat reservation from Geneva to Paris (Gare de Lyon). I tried so hard to reserve the the seat on 5 Dec (even on other days/ other times), the website shows the timetable. However, the payment page, it appreared that “please try to find an alternate connection. The available leg will be removed from your cart”I have Global Eurail pass, so I would like to use it and willing to pay for the seat reservation for extra. Could you pls suggest me? I don’t know any problem happens.

I'm sure this is a redundant question but I want to make sure I don't mess this up! I just bought the 7 day Global Pass for my husband and I for a trip that doesn't start until April 2023. I added both to the app on my phone. My app is attached to a trip and his is attached to a separate trip because the app said it can't be added to the same trip as mine.  Was that correct? The next step says to activate,  but do I do that now or in April just before the 1st day of travel ( which will be the day we travel to Paris from London).  Next...I want to purchase the tickets for the London to Paris train now. When I purchase those on Eurail or another site, will it ask for my pass number? Then...do I go back to the app and add those to our respective trips and can that be done without activation?

hi, the germany trains from say munich to stuttgart and stuttgart to frankfurt runs very often (like many trains per hour). Will the prices increase nearer to travel dates? or they will remain largely the same? can i wait till the day of travel or jus before travel to buy these tickets?thank u

I have some questions about what the allowed order of trips is, particularly concerning inbound and outbound journeys.Question 1:My intended journeys are, in chronological order:Southampton to Manchester AirportManchester Airport to SouthamptonLondon St Pancras to Lille (Eurostar)Lille to London St Pancras (Eurostar)Southampton to Manchester and Manchester to Southampton would be on 2 separate days. The Lille trip would be a day trip all on the same day. I may be taking a train in my destination country after flying there from Manchester but not sure yet.Am I allowed to do this?Would I also be allowed to take the train from Southampton to London and back to get to St Pancras using the pass, or would my inbound and outbound already have been used up going to and from Manchester? If I don’t take a train during my trip abroad from Manchester does this make my train trips to Ma
