Get ready to travel

Can anybody tell me which seating plan to look at for the ICE 9573 Paris Est to Karlsruhe at 10:55 on 24th Nov. Seats allocated through Interrail were not suitable as they were seating us one behind the other. I took Brendan's advice and telephoned SNCF. The lady was very helpful and changed the seats. However, I think I'm still in the same position. The seats are in first class in carriage 28 seats 71&72. I think the original seats were same carriage 41&42. As far as I can see they are in a single row or in a compartment for 6 by a corridor. Any help would be appreciated.

Since many of our train reservations must be made on individual train systems websites in each different country, there doesn’t seem to be a provision on their sites to include the Eurail pass and adjust the ticket cost.  Does this mean we have to physically go to a station or ticket office to get the correct price on tickets? 

Hi, I am planning a trip from Copenhagen to Abisko, sweden and then on to Oslo from 17 December 2022. But the timetable is only available up to 10 December. When will it be updated? Does the train schedule stays the same from week to week?

Me and my friends are struggling to find ANY trains available to take us from London to Brussels on the 17th December. Will more become available? or are there other good options of transport?Thank you! 

Can I use my Inter-rail on Elisabeth Line in London? And can I use it in all the metros? Thanks     

Hello together :)I’d have the following question:With a Switzerland Intervall Pass (a One Country Pass) of 4 days within 30 days, may I use the benefits (for example 50 % discount on Pilatusbahn, Vierwaldstättersee, Glacier Express, …) on only the 4 days I’ve chosen to travel or on each of the 30 days?Or are there differences between the type of benefit? For example that I could use the benefit for the Pilatusbahn whenever I want in the 30 days, but that I can only use the benefit for the Glacier express on one of the 4 days I’ve chosen?Thank you so much!David

Planned a 3 day trip from Sheffield (UK) to Frankfurt and back with a stop over in London. I am due to travel today and have just activated my pass only to be told that I have to leave the UK and return to the UK in single journeys.I have accidently used today as a travel day and I can’t undo it even though I have not travelled yet. Obviously I wish to pay for my Sheffield to London train separately and use the pass for London to Frankfurt. Eurail have no phone number so now I don’t know what to do. Hi,My friend and I are both planning on buying a eurail pass soon but we don’t know how we should go about buying them. I am French and he is Japanese but with a residency card from the U.K. since he is currently studying abroad there. I was wondering if he could still get an interrail eurail pass just like me since his visa in the U.K. will still be valid until late next year or if he should buy a eurail pass. Also, will there be any problem if we don’t buy the same pass, i.e. if he buys a eurail and I buy an Interrail: will we still be able to reserve seatings in the same train and next to each other etc. ?Thank you for you help,Safe travels :)Kykye

Not a major issue (!) but on the map of my journeys in the android app, some are coloured grey and some yellow. I've seen this on two separate trips now. Any reason for it?

Hi! We’re a family of 4 South Africans planning to travel through Europe in December 2022. We have an itinerary planned, but have never been to these countries, or even used the trains. (We currently live in Brunei where we don’t even have trains). Our itinerary looks like this: Barcelona 5 Dec, Marseille 8 Dec, Milan 9 Dec, Rome 12 Dec, Venice 15 Dec, Munich 16 Dec, Prague 18 Dec, Berlin 21 Dec, Copenhagen 23 Dec.My son is in year 13 doing his IB, and will, of course be writing his mocks in the second week of January, which means it will not be all fun and games for him, he’ll have to use the train rides to study a bit as well. I want to buy the global passes  - my husband is 60, my daughter is 11 and my son is 17, and from what I have seen so far, the 10 day global pass will make it more affordable. My questions are:1. Should I go for first class or second class? 2. Am I correct to think that I buy the passes now, then book and pay for the trains that I want for the 8 days of travell

In june 2023 i will travel with interrail, and I plan to go to Bern in Switzerland. Now I would like to rent an e-bike. Does anyone know a good bike rental in Bern?

My Son is joining us on a trip , he's just started a new job and has to change the dates he travels back , the journey is from Colmar to Carmarthen on December 28th & we  can't find any available reservations or on the 27th & 29th ,  & he can't afford to pay for a full price eurostar ticket,  any other suggestions? 

hi, actually i m holding Eurail global mobile pass and i want to book seat reservation for attached journey, MARNE LA VALLEE CHESSY (France) to Schiphol Airport on 27/11, but it shows price unavailable. Nonetheless, i check from Thalys website ( as attached), the train is not full,Q1) Can i go to Schiphol airport counter and reserve my seat when we reach on 17/11?Q2) If i aldy secure seat for other timing, is it possible to change to another time slot? or seat reservation is not refundable & exchangeable? ThanksQ3) Can I top up the diff 1st class and 2nd class as 1st class seat are still available. Thanks  

Hi,Everytime I try and make a reservation I am able to select one but then immediately taken to this second screen (as seen in second pic) with no option to add item to cart. It seems to do this with every option I choose!Also, not sure if I’m just being entirely stupid (most likely! 😅) but are you able to book and pay for reservations via the app or do you have to go to the website? I am currently doing it via the website as there is no option to do so on the app.Thanks in advance :) 

I have been trying to make a seat reservation from Zurich to Paris (TGVLyria) direct train for July 26th departing at 3:35pm. I am able to add this reservation to the cart, but cannot proceed further when I click on the link “Continue to Traveler Details” clicking on this does nothing and takes me back to the main page. I have tried multiple browsers and the app on my iphone same thing happens. Can anybody please help and let me know what other way I can secure this booking?When I click the link “Continue to traveler details” it tries to load something and then goes to the page below and shows my Cart empty. 

Hello. I have a global pass and want to book 2 -one way for my husband and I from Vienna to Berlin. If I buy through Eurail, it appears I get a 1st class seat but I don't get to choose my actual seat? Is that correct?However, if I book through bohn.com, I get to.choose my actual seat? And do I buy a seat only? Is my pass my ticket but my reservation my assigned seat? I am so confused!

Hello, I have tried to book a seat reservation with Eurail Pass from London to Brussels, but I notice something is wrong with the site. It is unavailable for all day (I literally tried all day) within 1.5 month. Even after I choose not a direct route but seat reservation is required, it still could not allow me. Basically, the site just does not allow me to make a seat reservation. Anyone experiences the same thing? Where should I ask help for this?

Hello, I have a global pass and I’m going home on Sunday from Bratislava to Torino (Italy). It is quite a long journey, so it obviously include changes. I am an Italian resident, and I would need to change trains twice in Italy (Verona and Milano), but in the app it still shows as one journey Bratislava-Torino. Can I do that or can I only travel to Verona and then have to pay for the tickets from there? I tried to contact Trenitalia (Italian railway company) but they say only ticket offices can give me that information, and I don’t have the chance to get to one until I’m actually back to Italy. I will do that when I need to change in Verona, but I was wondering if someone had a similar experience or can clarify this for me. Thank you very much in advance 💗

I selected all my reservations and entered payment details, after clicking “Pay” is loops back to asking me to enter payment details. I tried various browsers and different credit cards. Same issue. How do I resolve this?These are the seats:Am I doing something wrong? Resolved. The card required 3D authentication.

We have been trying to book an online reservation on eurail website but cannot complete payment. Everytime we enter the credit card information and press “pay”, the page refreshes without completing the transaction. 

Hi all! So, I’m currently interrailing and I’m in Istanbul. In a few days I will hop on the train going from Istanbul to Sofia. From there, I would like to reach Belgrade, and then Bar via night train from Bel to Bar. The problem is: the transport situation between Sofia and Belgrade is messy to say the least. On the Internet I’ve read that a viable route would be: Sofia-Dimitrovgrad-Niš-Beograd, although some websites state that the train from Niš is daily and departs (11:25) before the one the one from Dimitrovgrad arrives (11:30 or 12:27, depending on the website).I’m not even sure this train exists. Other alternatives apparently are Sofia-Beograd by bus or Dimitrovgrad-Niš by bus and then Niš-Beo by train again, since this part of the trip is quite easy. Can someone help me?

Hello,I’m trying to make a seat reservation on eurostar form Paris to London on the b-europe.com site. It is asking me for my pass cover number which I don’t have because I have a mobile pass, rather than a paper one (however I don’t see anywhere that you can’t travel on eurostar with a mobile pass?). Is it possible to get a pass cover number with a mobile pass? Thanks!
