Get ready to travel

Hi! I’m currently in Dijon and heading to Rueil-Malmaison today.The only trains that are available for reservation have me arriving past 18:00 and i’d really like to arrive earlier, even if it means taking the regional train for a lot longer travel time. I haven’t done a reservation-free trip in France yet, so I’d like someone to check my work and maybe offer suggestions if I’m missing anything? QUESTIONS -what’s the best way to receive the most up to date train updates for reservation-free trips in France? I was using the SNCF website and toggled only TER and Bus (I need to take a bus to Rueil-Malmaison and i know i need to pay for that). Is there another way I can check since Railplanner doesn’t update often? I worry because we’ve been advised here not to use Railplanner, but without Railplanner as an initial check, I wouldn’t clearly know what Train lines are regional or not.  I can just hop on any France TER train without a seat reservation? Just verifying if someone has time to do

Liebe Community, Weiß jemand, ob man ein Kind ( also unter 12) im Nachhinein zu einem Global Pass hinzufügen kann? Das Kind wäre ja eigentlich umsonst mit dabei, habe aber übersehen, dass ich es gleich am Anfang wahrscheinlich hätte mit rein nehmen müssen. Da die Idee dieser Reise aber erst jetzt entstanden ist, würde ich das Kind trotzdem gerne mit dem Global Pass mit nehmen.Hat da jemand Ahnung?Danke,Christine

Hey, my travel buddy is french and eventually, we end up in London and want to take the Eurostar to Amsterdam. Even though it´s a direct train we inevitably travel through France. Does it count as an inbound or even in- and outbound journey for her, although the final destination is Amsterdam and not any french city?Cheers, Marius

Hi, I hope I can get some help with the following questions.I understand that when travelling on a night train, I will only have to use 1 travel day (the day of departure). However, for the Halkali - Sofia night train, where there is a need to disembark at Kapikule for passport control, is the train ride still counted as one travel day? Also, on the Rail planner, the currently available itinerary for the Halkali - Sofia route consists of a train change at Plovdiv. Does anyone know if the direct train that departs at 2240 (during winter) is still running? I have reserved a sleeper cabin on a NightJet that departs the station at 2313. Should there be a delay in the departure time of the train such that it departs after 2359, do I have to use another travel day or will the original date be taken as my travel day?I have bought a 7-day flexible pass and my current travel plan unfortunately does not leave room for any buffer day so your answers would help me determine if there is a need to m

Hi everyone,recently I bought a Eurail Global pass and my main destination will be Germany but also will spend 3 days in Switzerland. Anyway, I heard some people say the Eurail Pass also includes most of the S-Bahn, and I want to know if it is true ?Also, since I will be landed at Brandenburg Airport and there is a FEX Aiport Express links to the city center, I wonder if that is also includes in the Global pass?Thanks! 🙏 

We will travel to Germany next week. And we are going to take U2 from Muenchen Hbf station to Messestadt Ost station. But we could not find Messestadt Ost in the app. Can we use Eurail pass or do we have to buy ticket? Thank you very much.

Just purchased Interrail Global Pass. I need to book a trip from a provincial station in the UK through eventually to Paris Gare Du Nord. I have used the rail planner to achieve this but am not sure how I go about a) booking the trip and b) reserving seats on the Manchester to London and London to Paris Eurostar. Also, my wife and I have the pass downloaded to our mobile phones but need to book seats adjacent. Can I use one booking on the app for both of us. We are in our 70’s so not particularly tech minded, so any concise instructions would be most welcome. Thanks in anticipation.

Hello everyone! I’m hoping someone will have some tips or advice for me! My fiancé and I are traveling through France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. We are from the USA and bought Eurail Global passes. We were able to get seat reservations except for the Paris-Amsterdam Thalys train on 11/6/22. I’m stressed out about it! We won’t be in France until 11/3 to go to the train station and buy one in-person and I’m worried they will run out. SNCF is showing that there are still seats, but I heard they won’t book seat reservations from a pass over the phone, and I’ve tried multiple websites. Is there anything I can do? It’s frustrating because I would not have bought the passes had I known this would be such a big issue.  Thank you in advance! 

Does the Interrail Global Pass work for London Tube and Paris Metro travel?

Hello! Can you skip some travel days with a Continuous Eurail Global Pass? E.g. perhaps you travel two days consecutively and then skip a travel day or two before you then start using your travel days again, would this be okay? Or are you required to make use of the pass every single day within the set time period for whichever pass you purchased (e.g. a 2 month Continuous Eurail Global Pass)? Thanks so much! 

We had a great holiday in the summer, but were not able to use our passes on SE France - between Marseilles and Antibes as the ticket office at Lyon said Interrail was not accepted by the local train company. We had to buy tickets totalling 140 euros!!The app and a subsequent post by a moderator called Claudi said compensation/refund was available. We contacted customer services on our return 5 weeks ago, have sent in the tickets bought on Aug 3 but have just been told that we can’t be compensated and should try the station at Lyon. Can anyone help please?

I am trying to book a train ticket using my mobile pass for Dec 14 from Pisa to Rome. I tried using OBB site but I can't find the leg that I can see using trenitalia site. Is there any other way that I can book this trip using a pass? How do I do it? Help please...

Does anybody know when timetables will be passed on from railways to Rail Planner? Trying to book on Deutsche Bahn (Germany) and SNCF (France) but getting an error message saying Rail Planner is still waiting for a timetable update from the railways. However SNCF opened for bookings over a week ago and Deusche Bahn opened today so one would think data would be available.Thanks!

My friend not used all days from this month. I have tried online, books and various chats, including national train companies and nobody seems to know how to travel from central europe (Germany or Austriafor example) to Serbia. As I live in north west England and would start from my home station, travelling down to London and then into Europe via Eurostar, do I start my destination as London when attempting to get a price or would I need to pay for tickets from my home station to London first? tbanks 

Hi, I want to order an interrail mobile pass but I had some issues with my 4G when I was abroad in the past. Actually, it didn’t work in several countries. I got in contact with the provider and I got some tips, but I can only test it once I am travelling... So, I would like to know, if I buy a mobile pass and make reservations with the app, can I show the pass in the app when I’m offline? Or do I get a confirmation through e-mail that I can download in advance and show the train conductor?Kind regards,Tine 

Hello, since I need to book a full prize Interrail pass, I read about some promo passes. How to find them? Are there any discountable tickets right now?if you know of any solutions or discounts at the moment, I would be very grateful since it’s quite last minute and a huge amount of money for me. i already googled - just making sure I haven’t missed anything since I was wondering why interrail is writing about promo passes and I can’t seem to find  them. thanks a lot :)

Does the global eurail pass include Switzerland?

Hello everyone, I’m new to Interrail and I’m planning my trip. I’m thinking about booking through national rail companies website to book. I was wondering if I have to do something for my Pass, because my trip will not be available on my Rail Planner app. Do I have to link my reservations to my Pass on the app ?I will also be using ferries websites to book thanks to the promo code. Do you know If that’s counting as a travel day or if any of the seat reservations not made on Interrail ? Thanks a lot for helping !

Hi everyone, I'm planning to go from Berlin to Copenhagen and this night train seems very convenient but I don't understand if that'd use one or two travel days? I'd get in the night train on the 30th, arrive on the 31st in Denmark and then would have to take a connection on the 31st, would that be one or two travel days?Thanks in advance
