Get ready to travel

The Belgium rail system is having a scheduled strike on Oct. 5th.  If our train originates in Amsterdam with a final destination of Paris will it go as scheduled and just not stop in Brussels?  Or will it not travel through any part of Belgium during the strike?    Thalys train runs right through Belgium.

Hello, we are in Barcelona. They don‘t want to give us the discount for the ferry. They stay it is wrong on the website. 

Anybody visiting UK (or using inbound/outbound days) and intending to use the East coast line operated by LNER a reservation is strongly advised and at busy times may be compulsory. These are available free of charge at any UK station or can be pre-ordered from the LNER site if you set up an account, During booking the reservation it asks for a ticket reference but the system accepts a 0 and you simply declare you have a valid ticket.LNER operate from London Kings Cross which is adjacent to the Eurostar St Pancras terminus. Trains go to York, Leeds, Durham Newcastle and Edinburgh (and a few beyond). 

Question:The website mentions clearly that the local S Bahn in Zürich is included with the pass.  The app as well under "travel info" says so: The planner app in the "planner" menu however says that it's NOT included : when i search for Zurich HB to Wildpark for example it says "not in pass network".Is this a contradiction??Is it included or not? Many thanks L.E.

Hello community,does anybody know how to deal with the following situation: We are in Spain near Barcelona and according to Interrail we are allowed to use the regional train RE1 to Barcelona City with our Global Pass. But at the local train station we need paper tickets to pass the electronic gate. So we had to buy paper tickets at the station, although we already had valid tickets. Do we have any chance to get our money back? And do you know how to deal with such situations in future? Would be glad for any advice…

I want to purchase an Interrail pass that I’ll begin using from Wednesday 5 October. Problem is, my phone won’t support the Mobile App (below iOS 13) and obtaining the pass physically may be a logistical issue…I’m only at an address in London until Tuesday 4 October and I’m booked on the Eurostar that day to Paris (booked and paid for separately/already). I don’t know the address I’ll be staying at in Paris at this point, so can’t order the Pass as I have nowhere for it to be sent at this point. The site indicates that the mail could take 3-8 days to arrive.What options do I have?Can I purchase the pass in-person anywhere in London in the next few days, or in Paris when I arrive on Tuesday 4 October? And if the latter is possible, can I begin to use the pass the following day, or possibly start from the same day?

I read that it is only recommended to activate the pass nearer to travel date so you won’t waste a pass if there unforeseen changes. However can I proceed the seats reservations first as worrying on seats availablity and activate the pass later? Thanks 

Hi!I bought German Twin Pass Flexi 7 days via DB website, it indicates that the Pass wil be sent to my home country by post.However, I've still not received it yet and I will fly to Germany in a few days. If I cant get it before leaving, can I refund it and buy a new one at the DB office at Frankfurt airport? I posted before about using a Eurail ticket as a UK citizen but living (for many years) in Hong Kong. As such, I have a UK passport and a Hong Kong identity card (but not HK passport). I will carry some supporting documentation of residency in Hong Kong (can get something from employer, and maybe government document). Hopefully that will be enough - I tried to get clarification from eurail but have not heard anything.I have 2 more questions that I would appreciate some guidance on.Do I enter the HK identity card number as my ID for the pass, or my UK passport number? The HK identity card is not a travel document (just an internal HK document), but if I use the UK passport on a eurail ticket I guess this could cause problems?! In reality, how often / strictly are you asked for identity? I am not doing anything wrong (as a current HK resident I am actually doing the right thing getting Eurail I believe) but I don’t want to face hassle and stress every time my documentation is checked. Hi, my paper pass for Greek Islands is about to be late for the start of my trip. I am wondering if I can add my paper pass to the rail Planner app and use it instead of the paper pass?

I live in Finland and the only way for me to get out of here is to take a ferry to Tallinn, Stockholm or Travemunde and use that as my FIRST leg of the journey. I know discounted ferries do not count towards travel days, but it is required that is falls within the period of validity of the ticket. To choose the validity in the app, I have to make the 1st day of validity a travel day which is the problem here. I need to take a ferry first - which would not use a travel day - but to make the ticket valid I'd need to make it a travel day and so waste a travel day. Is there any solution to this?

Hello, How do I activate my Greek Islands Eurail pass?  I wish to use it mid September. When is the best time to activate it and how do I do that?  because I want to make reservations on the ferries that’s why.  Thank you for guiding me. 

When I go to add a traveler with the last name and pass number I get this error Those details don't matchYou can find the right last name and Pass number in your confirmation email.I have tried all name variations, last name only, first name only, last name/first name, first name/last name. Nothing works. I booked two passes and only one is accepted. 

I bought a Interrail pass and I live in France, I will be traveling to Switzerland but in the residency I added Switzerland.I activated the pass, but as soon as I realised that I needed to use the outbound/inbound ticket, I didn't use it, and now it has been 2 weeks and I cant travel and no one is answering.If you could please tell me what should I do.Thaank you!

Is it possible to add a journey (and generate the ticket) to my trip after the train has officially departed? Say I am sitting in the train, it’s leaving and only then am I adding the journey. Thanks!

If so, on the basis of what is this day calculated?2) Is it sufficient to indicate the stages to book the round trip (if the stages will be the same)? or do you have to reselect the stages for the return?3) How do I know when to reserve seats?Thank you all

Hi there,me and my boyfriend are travelling from Germany to England on August 12th and come back August 17th.I bought a second class global pass but there are no Eurostar seats available anymore. On the Eurostar website it shows that there are first class seats available still.Can I exchange my second class pass for a first class pass in order to book a first class reservation?Or do I need to get a refund for my current pass and then buy a first class pass.Any advice will be much appreciated.Thanks in advance!

When travelling train trains are delayed, so we have to change plans and take later trains once in a while. This means changing the already saved journey for the day. But how? I miss a delete button or change possibility!

Hi, I bought the mobile pass. When I look on the website there are a number of trains from Cologne to Krakow, but on the app there are only night trains available? For this pass can I only take trips that are shown on the mobile app? ThanksAlex

We are due to travel in Europe on a two month pass. We are breaking the trip up because of family issues so have booked a trip around Scandinavia to start. This involves both the in and out uk journeys. Started planning the second trip to Poland. We are flying to Krakow and using the train from there. Tried putting in a train from krakow to Budapest but although it says ‘saved to trip’ when you look on trips it is not there. we have two passes and it is added on one but refuses to be added on the other. any reason why it will not show on trips and how do I move this on.steve
