Get ready to travel

Hello, I am a non-EU resident and planning to visit Austria-Switzerland-Italy. I read about eurail global pass but i need some clarification before i purchase the global pass. Basically I will be spending few days in Austria and Italy whilst I will just spend 1 or 2 days in Switzerland. The whole reason why i stay in Switzerland is because i want to experience the Benina Express from Chur to Tirano, Italy (which is basically 1 of the highlight of my trip!)My journey will start from:1. Vienna and then I'll take a train to Salzburg. 2. From Salzburg, I am planning to take a train to Chur.3. From Chur, I'll take Benina Express directly to Tirano. 4. From Tirano, I'll take a train to Milan and5. From Milan i will take a train to Florence. The journey will be about 12 days all together. When I read about the Eurail global pass it seems that 7 days in 1 month pass is suitable for my trip. I have few questions as follows: 1. Can eurail global pass be used for all of the above train route? 2.

My husband and I are trying to book Berlin to Krakow and Krakow to Vienna, both need seat reservations. There are no trains to and from Poland after about 2 September showing on the app.We have looked on general tain websites and these are showing a number of trains on these routes Any idea when these will show on the app? Thanks!  

my friend is travelling with me but her phone broke and she is now trying to open her rail planner app on her new phone but it won’t let her as it is still open on her broken phone. We have submitted community support requests but need urgent help as we are travelling via eurail in 3 days don’t have any other way to get from Lille to Amsterdam, or enough money. her oder number is IN30569800

HelloSo on Monday I am starting my trip below. We are stopping in Milano for a few hours before going to Firenze. So i had to enter the trip as 2 journeysWhen I activated my pass, i tapped on the first journey from Mulhouse to milano centrale and that generate one qr code in my passMy question is when I arrive at Milano right before boarding the train frol Firenze, can I tap on the  qr button then, and will it then generate another qr code valid for this one travel day, or will it counts for another travel day?  If I can generate several qr code for 1 travel days, one for each journey added, is it better to break down a journey proposed by the rail planner into several sub journey  in case something happend in between the sub journey and I would need to change the itinerary? Thanks a bunch! 

Does anybody have any advice for finding the best backpacker’s travel insurance?? I am travelling from the UK to around 7/8 countries for three weeks in September with my partner and need to purchase health insurance. I have done some shopping around but cannot find anything reasonable, so would appreciate if anybody has some advice for ones they have used before. P.S. I have a GHIC card, but I am still looking for extra cover

I only found out that, the reservations from the website don't show up on the app, after I had already booked them. I think I accidentally created two trips (one on the website and one in the app), but I only have one pass. Should I just show the inspector my ticket reservations from the website alongside my pass on my phone? Will I have troubles? I'm afraid that if I delete the trip from the website, my reservations will be gone and I can't delete the trip on my phone (although I haven't bought anything yet).Also different question but I made a mistake while putting in my city of birth for my account on the website. Is that going to be a problem? After all the mistake doesn't show up on the tickets and everything else e.g. my ID, name, etc. are all correct.Thanks for your help!

Hi community! I have an Interrail pass and was making a seat reservation for a TGV, when the app forwarded me to the Eurail website instead. So now I have an activated Interrail pass + a Eurail seat reservation.Can I just show my Interrail pass on the day? Or will there be a trouble because of the mismatch?Would be grateful for your experiences:)

HelloOn August 22 I would like to get back from Praha to Mulhouse in France. Most of the trips that don't require reservation based on rail plannar require a lot of connections. And some connection at night makes me witait up to 3-4h at the train station (Decin)So i'm looking for alternative trip, like doing Praha-Zurich - basel - mulhouse but the timetable doesn't work out well…Do you have any suggestion as to trips I could make to go home? It can be a trip using 1 or 2 travel days actually

Hi everyone,I’ve been having some issues with making a reservation for the train going from Krakow to Berlin. The specific trains are the following:Krakow to Berlin on 6th August, departing a bit after 10amor the same route on the following day (7th August). I can only make reservations on the intercity.pl for full price (~160PLN) or on polrail for 53PLN, but that is a paper ticket for which I’d need to pay a further 30PLN for ‘posting fees’ (and you can only book for tickets that are more, than 5 days from today). I also looked at other people’s questions on this forum, but it seems like most people are coming from Berlin making it possible for them to call in to DB and pick up a ticket somewhere. I couldn’t find the same alternative for Poland.If you could follow this rather hectic description, thanks a lot, here comes my question:Is it possible to just go into Krakow’s train station and buy a ticket there or it’ll be fully booked as we’re in high season? Or should I just pay that 83

Hi I only can get a ticket for the Outbound and Inbound day but not for all other. I got a Pass for 1 Month. Does anyone maybe know how I can get the other tickets?

Can you reserve a seat at the ticket office? As I was trying to reserve a seat via the app but for some reasons it said my pass number is invalid. Thanks!

On a 7 day/month pass does an overnight trip count as two days/

Hi,The trains in Poland/Germany and to Prague were all pretty good, given the fairly warm/hot weather conditions last week.Is Railjet pretty much same standard? And is going from Vienna to Budapest also alright?Thanks 

Hi, I will buy a global pass and live in Portugal.However, to start my journey, I will fly to another country to save some time. Do I have to put my residence country as Portugal and then the 2 travel rule will not apply anymore? Or do I need to put the other country and then I can only do 2 travels in that country? Thanks a lot

I have just booked my first journey for 13/8/22 in southern Italy .The reservation email tells me that  I must print it and take a paper copy .This is ok when I am still at home but what about the future journeys I will book when I’m en route and then won’t have access to a printer?

Hi, I’m trying to book a night train from Brasov to Budapest on the 10/10/22 but it won’t let me proceed with payment no matter what time I choose to leave Brasov. I get to the last page but won’t light up. I also get that notification with some of my journeys saying “Please try to find an alternate connection.The unavailable leg will be removed fromyour cart”  it doesn’t actually remove itself from my cart and when I try to remove it myself it won’t let me.  so could someone please let me know how I can book my train. I’ve also tried on safari and chrome browsers 

Hey! I have problem with my interrail pass because i don’t have more travells and i only do 6 of 7 i pay in the app appears this and i cant remove that travel that i never done…

have x3 eurostar reservations for 13/08/22 attempted to change dates due to rail strike on the 13/08/22 but the eurostar portal requests £45 fee. thought that one free change of date was allowed, have eurostar changed the rules.   

Hi there! My name is Hannah and I'm planing to travel from Vienna to Zurich. I just discovered that my train crosses the German border between Salzburg and Kufstein. There is no stop in between those train stations but the train crosses the border drives a short distance through Germany and crosses the border again. So technically I would pass through my home country Germany but there is no possibility of getting in or of the train so would I have to use my in/outbound days for this trip? Hello i am travelling to Milan from Zagreb and i am worried that i can’t catch the train between stops part of the trip will be by bus to pass the border and check our ids. Does anyone know a way to have reinsured that my trip is not going to be delayed and i will make it on time? It’s my last one to use so i can’t my mistakes 

Good day, I am facing an issue at the moment with my interrail pass. I want to schedule my journey back to my home country -which is Belgium- and the app tells me that I wasted both outbound and inbound day travels. When I checked closer, I discovered that the app put me an In/outbound day journey on a Berlin-Prague travel. It has no sense. Furthermore it took me one hour for getting out from Belgium. How can I lose both In/out travel back on on one hour travel. It seems that the app is having some troubles and I am sure that I would have less issues with the paper pass as I used when I was younger. Please enlighten me on this case. Thanks in advance.

I already use my inbound/outbound days of travel in the begining of my trip (i'm french) but i need to cross by it for a Travel (Lausanne→luxembourg, crossing by Strasbourg) Can i do it ?
