Get ready to travel

My friend and I are thinking about getting a first class interrail pass for our trip. However, it seems like the majority of the train connections we will go on require a seat reservation where we can choose between first and second class. If that is the case for us, does it even make a difference whether we have a first or a second class interrail pass?

Hi, in my app I’ve chosen to travel mostly with trains that do not require seat reservations. I tried to book a seat for one of them (specifically through DB site) because in the website was written that the reservation was recommended, however once I tried to pay it told me it was impossible to book. Since this train in the app  doesn’t need any reservation, can I still get on and just stand instead?

Good morning,I am trying to purchase a paper pass. I want to take my first train on 6th August. However, the delivery time is expected before 8th August. Althought I am confident that I will get it sooner (2 months seems exagerately long time), I cannot put the starting date on 6th August, but only after the delivery date.Any tips on how to solve that?

My outbound journey, Bucharest-Vienna, started yesterday.but in Budapest we have been anounced that we have to change the train due to tehnical problems. We have been directed to a RJ. Do I need to mark another day of travel in my interrail pass?

I need one seat reservation for the train from Barcelona to Paris for my son on august 23rd. In this eurail apps I can only order a paper version. but that needs to much time to get here. How can I change this or gat an e-ticket reservation. can I phone someone to help me?

My train from Venice to Munich was 90min late thereby causing me to miss my train from Munich to Berlin for which I had a reservation.How do I go about getting a refund since this was not my fault

My train THA9422 is cancelled on 09 Aug. It cause I cannot meet another train Eurostar that is dept from Paris to London train nos ES9031. I have requested cancel and refund both train. But I don’t know why the Eurostar train cannot refund. The system shows that it is not refundable. Please help and advise urgently. Thanks.

Hi, If I want to go from Amsterdam to Berlin, there is a route that passes by Frankfurt, (so Amsterdam-Frankfurt in early pm on the 31st), but then we need to board a train from FF to Berlin, which is scheduled to leave at 23h57 per rail planner app. 1) will it still only take one travel day since we board before 24H? 2) if the train is late and leaves at 12h40PM, will it still count as only one travel day on the 31st or will it add a 2nd travel day? Thanks! 

Hello,Can I use inbound or outbound journey everywhere in my country (France) and particularly if I don’t cross the border ? I live relatively near the border and I don’t need to use my outbound ticket for leaving. I would prefer use the both inbound and outbound journey at the end of my travel in Europe : the inbound day when I come back in France for going visiting my parents and the outbound day for going from my parent’s home to my hometown. I’ll cross the border during the inbound day but not during the outbound day. Is it possible like this ?Thanks

Hi, We are booking a pass for Italy. I am travelling to Italy and will be going to Milan, Rome, Naples and Venice. I will only need 3 trains but the website is recommending me 4 days. Does anybody know why?

Dear All,  My daughter start tomorrow the journey and wanted to activate the Global Pass, but there is always an error message after she typed in the ID nr. …. something went wrong…. She wrote an email and fill the form about this, but what else can we do? The train starts tomorrow at 7.00 am… We checked the ID details in the about page and this is empty. (she send the ID and get verification email) Is it any phone nr to interrail? Thanks

There are no options for trains from London to Amsterdam? Does that mean all the tickets were sold out? I am pretty frustrated because they show the seat reservation prices before you buy the ticket which leads you to believe there are seats available when there are not. Does anyone have advice for other options? I already tried using the other sites Eurail gives as an option.

Ik ben in St Jean de luz (Frankrijk) met mijn vriend. Beide interrail ticket. We proberen terug naar Nederland te komen op 30 juli (uiterlijk 2 augustus). Helaas lijkt ongeveer alles uitverkocht doordat er voor interrail maar beperkte plekken in tgv en Thalys beschikbaar zijn. Iemand suggesties om toch terug te komen? Wellicht met twee nachten leuke tussen stop.

Hi,My girlfriend and I have planned a journey from Copenhagen to Zuerich with one stop/change in Neumünster on the 3rd of August. The first train will depart 00:08 in Copenhagen and arrive 5:30 in Neumünster. The next train will depart 07:04 in Neumünster and arrive 16:00 in Zuerich. These trains have been “booked” in our app and added both to “My Trip” and “My Pass” for both of us. So we have tickets for the trains (and we even bought seat reservations for both trains).  But when searching for this specific journey in Rail Planner now - the journey isn’t anywhere to be found. Now it is only possible to get from Copenhagen to Neumünster by changing trains 2 times - and it doesn’t look like there is any direct train. Even though we have “booked” that before and have a ticket for that specific train. Can someone please clarify if that means the direct train has been cancelled? Or if it is just a sign of the train being fully booked (and therefore not possible to “book” anymore)? To follo

Can I actually use my eurail pass on any trains in Croatia.  everything I try to book it says seat reservations required but then I get this message on every connection using the reservation tool! :Prices unavailableNo price results were found for this connection. It is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. Please try searching for another connection or check 'More information' and try other ways to book this seat reservation. If no pass holder seats are available anymore you need to buy a separate full fare ticket to board.

Dear travelers. We have a Global pas and seat reservations and are traveling from Bologna in Italy to Munich in GERMANY on an ECB train. The conductor wants us to pay an extra fee of 10 Euro to travel from one country to another since the train is not regional. But in the Railplanner App, where we have the Global pas, it says that these fee conditions only apply for One Country Passes. We dont know what to do. Any advice? 

Almost at the end of August (in barely over a month from now), I will be landing at Charles de Gaulle Intl. Airport (near Paris) from Montreal, Canada (where I live), and I will go by train to Antwerp. Throughout my 10-day trip, aside from going through Charles de Gaulle and northern France, I will be entirely within Benelux (first Belgium and then the Netherlands). My trip will be divided into three parts:While staying in Antwerp for a few days, I will go on one round-trip train journey to Bruges and/or Ghent for the day, and another one to Brussels for the day (each on a separate day, adding up to two). I will then take the train from Antwerp to Amsterdam, where I will be staying for the next six days after that. Within the Netherlands, I might take one, possibly two, train trips (round trip) to the countryside for the day, and finally I will make my way to Schipol Intl. Airport near Amsterdam at the end of my trip in early/mid September (by either local transit or Eurail train).All

Do all tickets have to be booked through the Interrail pass? Pleasewe are trying to book a night service from Milan to Amsterdam and I can see a route but it doesn’t let me book?

HiI’m trying to book the train from Madrid to Barcelona but unable to do it on the website. I can book it via the renfe website but can’t see a way to use my Eurail pass. Is this journey included with my pass/ can I get a discount with the pass or do I have to buy a separate ticket?

I’m facing problems to book the Eurostar from The Netherlands to London.  interrail shows an availability. I click on it. Put it in the ‘shipping chart’ fill in all my personal details. But it the end: last click: I received the following message : Probeer een alternatieve verbinding te vinden. Het niet beschikbare reisdeel wordt uit je winkelwagentje verwijderd.What’s going wrong?Why does the website does not show available seats only?I’m quite disappointed in my interrail card which seems to be useless to book a ticket to London. Tickets are available, but not for interrail-cards :(

Hello,I am currently studying in Germany and therefore have the residence permit (not a citizen of Germany), but I would like to travel with Eurail, since I bought it already with the price cheaper than interrail. Can I use this? Or I have to use Interrail instead? thanks a lot!

Hi there, I need to stop in country of residence (Netherlands) before going on to the UK. Therefore once I leave I will have no outbound journey left. I understand that I can buy a separate ticket within the Netherlands to a “virtual” train station on the border (Dutch-Belgium), however 1) how do I know which virtual train station I will need to buy a ticket to? 2) how do I buy this ticket to the virtual station- is it just via the usual NS app? Thank you! (Also I can keep travelling outside of my country of residence once I’ve used my in/outbound right?) 

Im trying to book a journey from Split to Rijeka   when I go to seat reservations it says the journey is nearly 20hours via Zagreb and Slovenia.   yet when I look on rome2rio site it says just just 4hours 32min.  is there not a direct train to Rijeka?
