To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more

According to recent newspaper reports, the introduction of the EU Entry/Exit system (EES) on 12th October will require travellers from non-EU countries to confirm at automated kiosks that they have proof of accommodation, sufficient funds for their trip, medical insurance and a return or onward ticket. If you answer "no" you're likely to be referred to a border official for further questioning, potentially including refusal of entry. This means that those of us from non-EU countries that normally book the return journey whilst on the continent will either have to do so before entering the EU or risk being told they can’t travel to the EU.Hopefully more guidance will be forthcoming over the next few weeks as to how this will work in practice.
I am trying to book my seat reservation for the 12th- tomorrow’s train from Paris to Amsterdam at 10:25 am from the Nord station. It is not letting me and in fact gives no options for this route at all, please help! So confused
It appears as if I have made all of my train reservations with Eurail, but I am a resident in Europe and purchased an Interrail pass. Are these tickets invalid? Can I still use them? Is there anything that I can do?????????
I will be travelling from next week on an Interrail pass. Officially, it appears from the website that my iPhone is no longer supported by Interrail (it cannot be updated to iOS 16, which appears to mean that my Rail Planner app can no longer be updated). However, I did not notice until now (actually, it’s possible my phone was still supported when I bought the pass!): I still have the app and it still works just fine. I was able to add my pass and activate it, and QR codes are showing up as expected. The only issue I have encountered so far is that the schedule is not always up to date (e.g., Eurostar trains are not showing up at all), so that I am having to add some journeys manually (which, anyway, I have had to do in the past as well, even with up-to-date app versions). This probably reflects the fact that it’s an old version of the app.Do you think there is any risk that the QR codes generated by my app might not scan or be considered invalid? (I cannot tell how old my app version
We are traveling around Europe in October 2025 : Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium Netherlands. Several of the journeys have transfers and I am using 20 min as a filter. My question is what is a safe amount of time to allow for transfers?
I have uploaded my EURail Global pass in my mobile phone Rail Planner App.I was creating My Trip to connect to my EURAIL Global pass.By mistake I created a journey on 14th August in stead of 14th September. How do I delete my 14th August journey or modify it? Regards
I will be travelling in Scandinavia in September and got a 15 day Interrail pass. I will probably downgrade it to 10 days due to travel plan changes. However I have already booked seating reservations for trains in Sweden via SJ stating the pass number of my 15 day pass. In the reservation in the App it also states my pass number and there is no button to change it. Is it possible to just change the pass number on my reservations without paying extra? Thanks in advance for your help!
I am travelling tomorrow from Lyon to Nijmegen, but I have huge troubles finding a route. All the high speed trains towards Bruxelles from either Lyon or Paris are fully booked. Now I realize that is my mistake by not booking in advance. However, there are some other routes available but they just don’t pop up (for example Lyon-Paris-Lille-Bruxelles). If I would filter on no seat reservation, I am taking a crazy route that takes ages, so this does not work either. Is there any way to find the fastest route using the tool so that it only shows me trains that actually still have Interrail seats available? I think it is quite annoying that it does not show whether a route is even possible… Thanks in advance!!
I have a rail pass, and am trying to find a train from Milan to zermatt. Nothing comes up on here, but I have found Milano central-Brig, and then brig to Visp, but can’t find the Visp-Zermatt leg except for on the train line site for another $100. Before I pay another $100 on top of my pass, is there anything else I can do on here?
HiI am travelling from Australia.I want to travel from Lake Como S.Giovanni (Italy) to Interlaken OST via Luzern (Switzerland).I have a First Class Eu rail Pass. Hello, I'm currently on the train with my friends, starting Interrail with my Interrail Global Pass, which I got through the DiscoverEU program. I can't find a way to show the QR code for my pass to the ticket inspector. It doesn't appear in either the DiscoverEU app or the Interrail Planner app. This is very serious and worrying, as I'll have to show my pass on all the trains I've already booked, and it won't let me enter it on my phone, either in the DiscoverEU app or the Interrail Planner app. For more context: I originally had my pass on the DiscoverEU app, but in order to make train reservations, it asked me to enter my pass on the Interrail Planner website, where I made all my reservations. And right now, I can't enter the pass on my phone in the DiscoverEU app. I have my pass code and all the confirmation and activation emails, and everything I've done with DiscoverEU so far.
I finally understand the difference between trips and journeys, but I can't work out how to produce my ticket.
I am not seeing any night trains in the Eurail app. There are no Intercity Notte in Italy at all (e.g. Milan to Bari), and nothing from Paris to Nice. I also tried SCNF and trenitalia's sites but nothing came up. Are they all cancelled or am I missing something?
I will be leaving the UK with my interrail pass and I have the Eurostar journey booked. Do I also need to book the journey that takes me to London or can I just board and show the app pass? Thanks!Dunja
Hello,I would like to take the train from Belgrade to Bar this month. According to the Rail Planner, there is a day train departing from Beograd Centar at 09:45 and arriving in Bar at 21:10.My plan is to spend one night in Bar and take the return train at 09:00 the next morning, which is scheduled to arrive in Beograd Centar at 20:17.However, I'm a bit confused because I read in some articles that only the night train is operating. These articles are a bit outdated, so I'm not sure if that’s still the case.So my first question is: Is the day train currently running this month?Another point of confusion is that some sources mention the train does not depart from Beograd Centar, but from a different station in Belgrade. Could you please clarify whether the train actually departs from Beograd Centar, as shown in the Rail Planner? And finally, I’ve read that this train route is often heavily delayed. Given this, do you think my plan — taking the day train to Bar, spending one night there, a
Hi everyone, Hope to find some answers here! At the moment I am Interrailing. I started my journey 23-07 and my pass is valid till 23-08. I used 5/7 travel days and used 1/3 inbound/outbound. My current plan is:traveling from Lienz to Vienna on august 9th. I'll leave in the morning and arrive somewhere afternoon; take the night train from Vienna to the Netherlands. It departs around 8PM and arrives the 10th of august in the morning.Taking above info in considering: do I spent all my days with this plan? Or do I still have a day left since my night train in an inbound journey? I am asking this because I am thinking about leaving Lienz earlier and stay for another night in Salzburg, and from Salzburg traveling to Vienna and then take the Night train (since my reservation for the night train is already booked).thank you in advance!
Hello, I want to travel from Bucharest to Sofia this month. There is a train (IR 461) with mandatory seat reservation that departs at 10:11 from București Nord. The problem is that I have to take this train, and I will arrive in Bucharest one or two days beforehand. Is that enough time to get a seat reservation in person?
Hi, I’m setting off next week with a 7 days in one month global pass, and as part of the trip, I have booked a reservation to travel overnight from Zurich to Prague. This is a sleeper train as far as Linz, then a change around 6.30 for the train to Prague. Will this count as one travel day, because it was all booked together, or two travel days, because it’s two trains? If it counts as one travel day, then I’ve been alerted that engineering work means I may miss the connection I have reserved, but there are a couple of options later that will get me there with no reservation. I assume this definitely counts as a second travel day??Thanks!
Many tickets / reservations can be added to Apple or Google Wallet.Below are examples from Trenitalia, České Dráhy, SNCF, italo, and UK National Rail in my wallet. There are plenty others that work, of course. It really makes things easy when traveling. No need to print reservations out, or save a PDF, or worry that a QR code is going to disappear, you'll be logged off or lose internet connection. When it's in Apple Wallet I'm 100% confident it will still be there when the ticket inspector comes. (Unlike web using Rail Planner 😕)It would be so great if the Interrail / Eurail pass could be added to a wallet like this. 😃
I have my day's journey setup, but I can't get my ticket generated.
We are due to travel today from Preston - London - Paris -Cannes but have had an email from Eurostar advising us not to. I presume I will lost my seat reservations and will have to rebook? There will belittle to nothing available if everyone gets pushed back a day. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? If I travel to London that will use one of my “home” travel days so would I have to pay again?
I’ve got a reservation from Venezia S. Lucia via Milan P.Garibaldi to Paris Gare De Lyon on Sat 30th. This train stops in Verona. Can I just board the train in Verona instead of Venezia S. Lucia or do I need to change the reservation?
Hello! I’m trying to book a private sleeper compartment on a European Sleeper train. The Eurail app is not giving me the option to do this: I can pay for a reservation for a private sleeper on the European Sleeper web site.Do I need to select a 2nd class seat so that I can generate a train ticket, and then just use my sleeper reservation, or how do I do this without getting a fine for doing it incorrectly?Thank you!
Merci merci!
