Get ready to travel

I finally understand the difference between trips and journeys, but I can't work out how to produce my ticket.

I am not seeing any night trains in the Eurail app. There are no Intercity Notte in Italy at all (e.g. Milan to Bari), and nothing from Paris to Nice. I also tried SCNF and trenitalia's sites but nothing came up. Are they all cancelled or am I missing something? 

Je suis très inquiète car j’ai commandé et payé un Pass Interrail le 8 juillet dernier. Un mail m’indique que la commande a été expédiée le 10 juillet et que je dois la recevoir pour le 28 juillet maximum et que cette réception se fera contre signature. Or nous sommes le 6 août, je pars le 13 août et je n’ai toujours pas reçu mon Pass.Le lien de suivi du colis indique que l’envoi n’a pas été livré car l’adresse est incorrecte. Or j’avais très correctement et très précisément renseigné mon adresse sur le site Interrail. Il est compliqué de contacter le transporteur et aucune information sur la date de livraison. Je suis très inquiète. Quelqu’un a-t-il connu pareil situation ?

I will be leaving the UK with my interrail pass and I have the Eurostar journey booked. Do I also need to book the journey that takes me to London or can I just board and show the app pass?Thanks!Dunja

Hello,I would like to take the train from Belgrade to Bar this month. According to the Rail Planner, there is a day train departing from Beograd Centar at 09:45 and arriving in Bar at 21:10.My plan is to spend one night in Bar and take the return train at 09:00 the next morning, which is scheduled to arrive in Beograd Centar at 20:17.However, I'm a bit confused because I read in some articles that only the night train is operating. These articles are a bit outdated, so I'm not sure if that’s still the case.So my first question is: Is the day train currently running this month?Another point of confusion is that some sources mention the train does not depart from Beograd Centar, but from a different station in Belgrade. Could you please clarify whether the train actually departs from Beograd Centar, as shown in the Rail Planner?And finally, I’ve read that this train route is often heavily delayed. Hi everyone, Hope to find some answers here! At the moment I am Interrailing. I started my journey 23-07 and my pass is valid till 23-08.  I used 5/7 travel days and used 1/3 inbound/outbound. My current plan is:traveling from Lienz to Vienna on august 9th. I'll leave in the morning and arrive somewhere afternoon; take the night train from Vienna to the Netherlands. It departs around 8PM and arrives the 10th of august in the morning.Taking above info in considering: do I spent all my days with this plan? Or do I still have a day left since my night train in an inbound journey? I am asking this because I am thinking about leaving Lienz earlier and stay for another night in Salzburg, and from Salzburg traveling to Vienna and then take the Night train (since my reservation for the night train is already booked).thank you in advance! 

Hello, I want to travel from Bucharest to Sofia this month. There is a train (IR 461) with mandatory seat reservation that departs at 10:11 from București Nord. The problem is that I have to take this train, and I will arrive in Bucharest one or two days beforehand. Is that enough time to get a seat reservation in person?

Hi, I’m setting off next week with a 7 days in one month global pass, and as part of the trip, I have booked a reservation to travel overnight from Zurich to Prague. This is a sleeper train as far as Linz, then a change around 6.30 for the train to Prague. Will this count as one travel day, because it was all booked together, or two travel days, because it’s two trains? If it counts as one travel day, then I’ve been alerted that engineering work means I may miss the connection I have reserved, but there are a couple of options later that will get me there with no reservation. I assume this definitely counts as a second travel day??Thanks!

Many tickets / reservations can be added to Apple or Google Wallet.Below are examples from Trenitalia, České Dráhy, SNCF, italo, and UK National Rail in my wallet. There are plenty others that work, of course. It really makes things easy when traveling. No need to print reservations out, or save a PDF, or worry that a QR code is going to disappear, you'll be logged off or lose internet connection. When it's in Apple Wallet I'm 100% confident it will still be there when the ticket inspector comes. (Unlike web using Rail Planner 😕)It would be so great if the Interrail / Eurail pass could be added to a wallet like this.  😃   

I have my day's journey setup, but I can't get my ticket generated. 

We are due to travel today from Preston - London - Paris -Cannes but have had an email from Eurostar advising us not to. I presume I will lost my seat reservations and will have to rebook? There will belittle to nothing available if everyone gets pushed back a day. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? If I travel to London that will use one of my “home” travel days so would I have to pay again?  

I’ve got a reservation from Venezia S. Lucia via Milan P.Garibaldi to Paris Gare De Lyon on Sat 30th. This train stops in Verona. Can I just board the train in Verona instead of Venezia S. Lucia or do I need to change the reservation?

Hello!  I’m trying to book a private sleeper compartment on a European Sleeper train.  The Eurail app is not giving me the option to do this:  I can pay for a reservation for a private sleeper on the European Sleeper web site.Do I need to select a 2nd class seat so that I can generate a train ticket, and then just use my sleeper reservation, or how do I do this without getting a fine for doing it incorrectly?Thank you!

Nous sommes 2 complètement novices avec Interrail et l’informatique, donc besoin d’aide pour préparer voyage en train de Toulouse à Stockholm. D’après nos recherches, il semblerait que les étapes soient :  -Toulouse/Paris -Paris / Hambourg -Hambourg / Copenhague -Copenhague / Stockholm (soit 4 trajets, c’est bien ça?)Puis retour par le même trajet = 4 trajets supplémentaires; donc pass global 10 jours, c’est bien ça?Question 1 : le trajet de Toulouse à Hambourg, compte-t-il pour 1 seul jour ou 2 jours? I am going on a trip soon and will be using the mobile pass for the first time. I read and watched the video on how to use the mobile pass but it was very fast moving, even pausing and re-watching. I have the 7 days in a month mobile pass.12 years ago I had a paper Eurail pass, again for 7 days in a month, I simply picked the train I wanted, by writing the train and route on paper, and hopped on. Sometimes I even boarded the train first, sat down, then wrote down the name of the train I was on after departure. Is it still that simple? I don’t know why but it makes me very nervous because it seems a lot more complex, with hard deadlines on when to book and choose a train. I see ‘up to 24 hours’ etc. I am now a family of 4 and imagine myself frantically trying to link the train I need for 4 people at the last second, or trying to activate the day too early and losing one of my days. I’ll be in Italy and Switzerland. We are travelling as a 6 next week (from 11th) around Italy and France. On the first day we have booked an overnight train and on the last day we have booked a fast train. On the other 3 days of travelling we are taking it easy and taking the day to travel on slow trains. Am I being naive by not booking trains for those days? I understand that not all trains can be booked but I don’t want to get caught without a train to get on.Any advice would be great.

It’s my last of my 7-day train  within my 30 Day Interrail Pass, but not the last of the 30-day range.I’m leaving Oslo at 15:45 and will arrive in Hamburg at 05:58 in the morning.To get to Frankfurt, I’ll need to book a separate ticket, since it’s not included in my pass. Is that right?Thank you

I’m trying to book tickets for my family on a Eurail 1st class pass.I’m looking to go Spiez → Venezia San Lucia on 11th October 2025.When I look for reservations on Eurail website/app, it tells me I can’t reserve the Spiez → Milano Centrale leg due to lack of availability. (both 07:44 service - EC 61, and 08:44 service - EC 43)Similarly, if we left earlier and got the regional train to Brig, it won’t let me reserve the Brig → Venezia EC 41 service (07:41 → 12:42).When I look at OBB, it brings up the 07:44 service from Spiez, via Milan, but states that the reservation is only for the Milano → Venezia leg. The 08:44 service states that it is booked up already! If I try to look at the same route via RailEurope, it doesn’t come up with any trips at all!!Any ideas about how to navigate this? My understanding is that the EuroCity services from Switzerland to Italian destinations do need reservations, but nothing seems to be coming up. Is it likely that all these services are already booked,

Hi all,I’m trying to book Eurostar travel for January 2026 using my Eurail Global Pass, but Eurail keeps showing the message:“Sorry, the journey details for this date are not available yet.”However, when I check directly on the Eurostar site, trains are clearly running for my chosen date. I’m still within the 6-month window, so I was expecting pass-holder seats to be bookable by now.Has anyone else run into this? Is this just a delay in Eurail releasing the schedule? Or could the pass-holder quota already be sold out? Any insight or tips would be appreciated! I’d like to avoid paying full fare if possible. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, We'll be venturing to Denmark and Sweden this summer and this is new territory to me when it comes to operator pass validity and the reservations. I am doing the planning mostly with bahn.de as they include everything, however the information about reservations being required is conflicting with the information on interrail's own planner (which I prefer not to use for planning as I know it can be outdated).So my question is: where do I find the ultimate truth whether a reservation is required or just optional?I can make reservations on SJ.se and the cost of 35 SEK which is of course not a a great sum, however their English-version website is not clear about whether the reservation is optional. I prefer not to fix ourselves beforehand (our freedom-lesson from earlier trips) and therefore take trains without compulsory reservation. Here is an example of contradictory information for a particular journey we want to make on 5 August:10:23 ODENSE (Denmark) EC 1198interrail planner s

I got a eurail pass for 4 days in one month and have it all planned out to go from london to paris to madrid.. etc, but I was wondering if I can use my pass for shorter local journeys in each city on travel days as well? For example, I’m going to arrive in Paris around 11 in the morning and want to use that day to explore the city. Can I just my eurail pass to get around the city that day or is local travel not included? And if It is included how do I go about adding those journeys to my pass?

Són massa canvis en un dia? Ens podem fiar dels horaris dels trens suïssos? Sols ens apareix reserva opcional entre Visp i Spiez i ja l’hem fet. Però voldríem assegurar-nos que és viable. Arribaríem al destí a les 20:30 aproximadament. Tenim un Aribnb reservat. És massa just el timing? Què us sembla? 

Hi, I am trying to do my seat reservations through Eurail but when I log into my account it shows I don’t have a pass. I have gone back and forth with the Live Chat but I have still only managed to book the two trains I can using Eurostar. I need to book the rest. Any help?

Hello, I already created a trip that is linked to my DiscoverEU interrail pass. I would like to share it with the people I will be travelling with. I have already tried sharing the trip as a link but it opens in the Eurail planner mobile app. Is there a way to share a trip in the DiscoverEU app? Are my friends forced to use Eurail planner?

Good morning,  I have a reservation that can’t be refound. i am planning to change the trip plan. It seem that the reservation can not simply be cancelled (i don’t need the money back). What will it happen if I don’t use a reservation?    Thanksregards
