Get ready to travel

Dear all,  My friend and I are trying to book seat reservations for the trains in France and Spain. We would like to travel the 12th of July from Rotterdam Centraal (NL) to Madrid in Spain. But, interrail seat reservation booking system does not give us any options. All possibilities are not available with the note to come back later. We already tried to call SNCF and other rail stations. They can book for us till Valence TGV (FR) but, we can not find a train from Valence TGV to Madrid. Is this possible to book? And where? Does anybody have tips for us to book the seat reservations we are aiming for.  Thanks. 

My husband and I have 3 month global passes (on app)which we’ll activate in September.  I’ve been planning journeys and adding them to My Trip.  I haven’t added them to the pass as I gather it’s best to do that on the day, for flexibility.  However I’ve changed some of our planned itinerary and want to delete some journeys from My Trip.  Cannot see how to do this.  Can anyone advise? Hello, At step 3 of activating my pass, i'm asked for my ‘Passport or ID no’. There are two numbers in my passport:Persoonsnummer/personal no. Documentnummer/document no.The personal no. can be compared to an SSN. Which one should I enter?

HI, quick question: if the reservation is not needed that means we can jump in the train only with the pass?No need to do any procedure before that?It is not clear to me if I need anything, as I should register the trip on the app isn’t?ThanksRaissa

Planning to travel with my dog (big dog 35 kg) super relaxed and old , from Germany Berlin to Spain Zaragoza , does anybody know about the rules in France and Spain if is allowed to bring my dog with me ? Hello, I have a small problem: I have a mobile Interrail Pass. However, due to an issue with my IPhone, I had to reset it. As my pass was registered on the railplanner app, and as I tried to enter the code of my pass on the app, the app said "your pass is already registered on another device". But that's not possible, I had to do a reset of my phone.I will probably have to change the battery of my Phone, so maybe I will have to ask the same question another time if the Apple Store has to reset again my phone or if I have to change my phone. I will be travelling very very soon, so if I can have an answer quickly that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Yann

Dear community,I’ve contacted the costumer service on 31/5 with the question to change my date of birth (I’ve made a mistake in the year of birth). I wanted to make the seat reservations but the wrong date of birth is on those documents as well, so I’m waiting until I receive news from them. I did activate the pass already, so I hope this does not make any difference? I’m planning to travel to Sweden and Norway and for Norway it is more difficult to get the seat reservations then Sweden… I’m leaving on 2nd of July. Is there any way to contact costumer service by phone? Thanks for your answer!Stijn 

I tried to reserve seats to France - Spain train. Unfortunately reservations for trains between France and Spain are only on paper. The system calculates that it takes more than 4 weeks to deliver tickets to Finland. So I called directly to SNCF and they could have made the reservation, but they don’t accept visa  payments from Nordic countries so the reservation was impossible. They advised to contact Interrail again. Which is a dead end cause only paper tickets and delivery is impossible.

I read that taking reservations in France and especially in Spain (at the stations) ist very complicated and that reservation seats are very rare at the moment. I’m thinking about getting a global pass but of course, I can’t check if there are any reservation options left for my dates if I didn’t buy the pass yet.. (I’m going in August/September). Does anybody can give me some advice here? Thank you!

I made the reservation from Amsterdam to Brussel, Lyon, Barcelona. After my recent experience with our Interrail Passes, I will not be using them again.  Here’s why. First, the process of fixing reservations is unbelievably complex.  My partner and I wanted to travel from London to Seville and back, using 4-days-in-30 passes.  This was our first experience of long-distance train travel down through Europe.  Preparing the trip took me hours of work, much of it very frustrating, mainly in order to set up the required reservations.  Some I was able to do on the Interrail site - that was fairly straightforward.  Others, like those within Spain, had to be done directly with the operating rail company, who mailed the paper tickets several days later.  And even those done through the Interrail site hit problems later, the main one being that, even though I did the bookings for my partner and myself at the same time, and even though our passes were both on the same device, several of the reservations came back with us sitting not only apart, but in different

Hello, Hope everyone’s well. I am trying to book seat reservations from Barcelona to Paris for 16th July using my global mobile pass. Eurail website is not showing price for that date and when I choose 15th which is available it asks me to enter delivery address. I have tried multiple addresses in Europe but it says according to our estimate the tickets won’t arrive in time. I tried calling 0033184943535 but I ended calling after selecting english. I just want do book the seat reservation in advance so it doesnt get sold out. It would be great help if you guys can suggest any alternate way to book this journey.

Dear EurailI have purchased a Eurail pass with Plus 20-Dec-2020 and the order confirmation clearly states "The pass is fully refundable without a fee, however the fee for Plus is non-refundable" (IN30227660).06-May-2021 I received a mail that the activation period was extended until 31 august 2022. Unfortunately, summer plans are so that the travel can't be made this summer and a refund is there necessary.However, when I login to my account - the ability to apply for refund is not available where it should be as per your help information.I have contacted your service department 04-Jun-2022 using your facebook support option to get this error fixed or a refund done - and received confirmation e-mail confirming receipt of the request. I have not heard anything back yet.I don't think > 2 weeks response time for a simple support request like this is reasonable - and the money is needed to pay for the alternative summer vacation!Can you please prioritize getting this service request mana

Hello,i tried to book reservations from Cologne to Paris with Thalys and from Paris to Nice with the TGV 6165. It is not possible to book any seats in both of the trains via the Interrail-App.If i try to book it via www.b-europa.com then I have to fill in a Pass Cover Number, which I don’t have, because I have a mobile pass.I checked the entries here and found out, that Interrail can offer this Pass Cover Number.We need help! If we don’t book this trains we have to cancel all of our plans :(  

I’m currently in Europe, needing to reserve 2 seats on the Paris to London Eurostar June 22 (2nd class).  The reservation tool won’t load and the alternative site doesn’t recognize my pass numbers.  Please help!!

I have a residence permit in Germany , my passport is at the UK embassy, can I still travel outside Germany with the interrail pass? Can I activate the pass with my passport number even if don’t have it physically when traveling?, I just have a picture of it and a proof that my passport is at the embassy. 

I am trying to buy a couple of 5 day Eurail passes for Ireland for a July trip, but the website is telling me shipping will take until mid-August? Is there anyway to get this shipped much much much faster, like within a week. Or alternatively, can I just buy the pass at one of the Dublin train stations? if so, how much more will that cost than purchasing online? Thanks

Hi, I have bought a Global Mobile pass (7 trave days/1 month) and was planning to take this route in a few weeks:Gothenburg - Copenhagen - Hamburg - Frankfurt - Marseille - Barcelona Before I bought my pass, the “book reservations” page made it seem like I would be able to book all of the seat reservations with no issues and it showed me the prices too. However - as soon as I had bought my pass and logged in, it started only telling me “Prices unavailable” or “Prices temporarily unavailable” for the latter part of the trip. It doesn’t matter which departure or date I choose. If I go to bahn.com and sncf.com the train tickets I’m interested in are all available, but for a full price. I could buy these instead, but then there’s absolutely no reason for me to have an Interrail pass and I feel like I have poured money down the drain.Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks in advance.     

Yesterday (18th of June) i was on the rail planner app planning my trip and using it to see if there were connections by train between different cities. Automatically the travel day was set for today (19th of June) . I didn’t notice this and midnight went by and it kept like this. Now the pass is activated and it appears i can’t change the fisrt travel day. I only want to start my trip in middle of July. I can’t change it on my own but is it possible for someone to help? It would be a huge heartbreak to lose the pass and the experience.

We have a train change in Mannheim with only 7 minutes.  How do we find out what track our next train is on before we even get off?  We have Eurail passes and are going to Interlaken from Munich.  Thank you!

Hi! Im going on a trip in some days and had to go to another city in my country. I tried to activate multiple journeys. I didnt go but ive used up my inbound/outbound journeys. Is it possible to get these back considering i didnt go?  

Hi, I’m from England. I’m trying to book seat reservations for Paris to Barcelona  (29th June) and Barcelona to Marseille (1st July). When I try and make the seat reservations it says the postal tickets won’t come in time (even when I put the address as a hostel in France and these trains are over 10 days away). Is there a way to make seat reservations online? Will there still be seat reservations available if I go into a train station in France on the 28th June?

I’m planning to go to France this summer with the One Country Pass and I’ve some question related to it. Is it possible to change the travel date/time after I’ve booked my seat via Interrail (before the travel date/time of course) ?  If the answer is “Yes” to the previous question: Do I have to pay anything extra? 

Hi everyone,I am currently planning a trip to Sweden and I am thinking about taking the night train from Hamburg to Malmö at 23:59 on a Friday. Do I need to spend one travel day for this one minute until midnight? The website says that journeys between 12am and 23:59 are considered travel days so I am not sure about my situation. I will continue with a different train in Malmö, so the Saturday will be a travel day anyways.In case, I’d have to use the Friday as a travel day, can I also just already take an IC/ICE within Germnany to get to Hamburg even though I am not leaving the country on Friday but on the night train sometime Saturday morning (I am from Germany so this is about the home country rule)?Thanks a lot!!
