I’m planning to travel to Sicily in june and want to take the night train back from Siracusa to Milan on june 24. However, when looking for availability on raileurope or italiarail, thay can't sell me a reservation for this train on that day. When going to the Trenitalia website, it shows that the train is running, bus not being bookable. Does anyone know why this might be the case? Engineering works? On the dates before and after june 24 the train is bookable, but only couchettes, sleepers are not available. This is the case for the whole of june and a large part of may. It seems that may 14 is the last day for which a sleeper compartment can be bought. Are these completely axed from the Milan - Sicily route during the summer?
Hello, i am new to European train travel but i have a trip to Italy booked in August. The first leg of my trip is taking me from Milan to Rome on 23rd August, but when i search for the journey the train i want (08:30 from Milan Centrale) is showing along with the seat reservation costs but when i click to book i get the below message:"No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable."I find it hard to beleive that these seats have aold out, as they have only just become available, after months of checking. I am also positive that it is not something i am doing at my end as i have successfully managed to book other journeys from Rome to Naples and Naples to Florence. Can anybody offer any assistance?
I bought a interrail global pass and want to upgrade from 2nd class to 1 class, what should i do
I am traveling Rome-NL today. From Milano to Lugano I take the 12.43 RE 25518. I didn't book seats because when I researched this trip no seat reservation was required. And now it shows up that I should book them. Tried ÖBB and Bahn.de but they will not let me book them...I have 20 mins of transfer time in Milano. When I cannot get on that train it will be a disaster for my trip. Help me out please...!!
I am trying to get from Hamburg Hbf to Kopenhagen Hbf on Tuesday, 10th June night with a Global Eurail pass and would prefer to travel without having to make seat reservations. The Eurail app is showing direct travel on EC1194 with reservations required... but when I select the "No reservations" option, I am getting an option from Hamburg Hbf to Flensburg on the same train (EC1194) but then I have to make 2 changes as shown below: My question is... if seat reservation is required on a train, it would be required for all intermediate stations and not just for the terminating station, right? So what am I missing?Although the information is quite clear in the app but there have been instances where the app was lacking and hence the doubt. Can someone please clarify? Thanks in advance!
I booked a train from Barcelona Sant at 8.25 am and I would like to change it to 13.25 to Madrid Can I change my reservation?
Hi. I am visiting London at the end of June and was planning on doing a day trip to Paris. On the Eurorail app on my phone it shows me the train I would like to take from London to Paris on the day I would like to go and says that reservations are required and there are limited seats for pass holders. When I look on the app it tells me the price of the reservations and leads me to booking them but I cannot book them on my phone. Although, when I pull the same train up from the website on my computer it tells me that “No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” When I look at other places to check availability I cannot find the train either. Does this mean simply mean I am out of luck and there is no way for me to make a reservation? The eurorail app on my phone which, I have been using to plan my travel, makes it seem like there are reservations available
Hi there, first timer. Iam trying to get from Paris to Brussels on Monday 7th July. Eurostar are sold out of reservations. I have looked on seat 61 and have seen that there are trains that do this jorney taking around 4.5 hours. What I am truly confused about is how I know which trains I can use with my pass. Ideally I would like to leave in the morning around 10am. Everytime I use the interrail website it only gives me eurostar times. I would like to use regional trains with no reservations if possible
I have been planning my August interrailing trip (my first time) starting on the website (because of bigger screen) and then adding them all again on the app (it doesn’t seem to want to sync between the two). One journey I looked at on 9 Aug. leave Paris Est at 10.54 and get to Gengenbach at 13.48 shows on the website that I need a reservation from Paris to Strasbourg (no surprise there). On the web the next two stages of the journey, Strasbourg to Offenburg, Offenburg to Gengenbach show as ‘you are ready to board’. On the app however it says I need reservations for the next 2 stages as well.Which is the correct one and how do I know? There are several of these instances in my itinery but I thought one example was enough. Thanks!
Hello i have interrail Spain one country pass and i need to go tomorrow from Valencia to Alicante. Seat reservation is mandatory but I can’t do it because once i go to “book my seat” in the app it says 404 error page not found. How can i fix this please
Hi I’ve got rather confused as to how the planner app works. I created a fairly complex trip on my iPad and added it to my pass on my iPad. However I really need to have the trip on my phone, so i successfully added the pass to my phone. However though the pass is there, there isn’t any trip associated with it. Do I need to create it manually on my phone from scratch or is there an easier way? Thanks
I am traveling from Madrid to Granada. We are in coche 3 in seats 7b and 7c.Question…is there a map of the seating, I think we have aisle seats. I would like one Windom seat and still sit together. thank you
I need to request a refund
Hi! I'm soon leaving for my first interrail trip. What could I bring with me to make the train rides less boring? All answers are appreciated!!
So the title pretty much says it all. For context, I am French but currently live in Germany for work/studies. I have an Anmeldung in Berlin, which I am hoping can be used to prove my German residency while I interrail in France. Would that be enough? Or do I need a Meldebescheinigung (which costs money, in contrary to the Anmeldung document, although max 10 euros)? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I‘ve planend the Route Forums Interrail Trip a now it’s time to book the seat reservations. I remember that I bought them at the counter in my local train station here in Germany before, but the last time they said they dont do that anymore for Interrail seat reservations. In my route are trains in Portugal, Spain and France. For some the App only lists off the possibility to buy the reservations in person at train stations, for some it says i can buy them via their Eurail Website but when i click that link it always says 404 Page not found.I’d appreciate some help what’s the safest and easiest way to buy the reservations for my trip now so i dont get any problems or unnessecary stress during ,y trip. Thanks in advance.
while activating my interrail pass, a page appears in front of me: it wants me to enter a passport number, but I haven't issued a passport yet, do you mind if I use a national identity card of the Republic of Turkey
Hello,I bought a Pass, valid for August but when I try to book seats, it shows “your pass isn’t valid on this date” (whether I log in or not). How it can be possible and how to fix that? Meanwhile, I am trying to book via direct sites (trains Hamburg Copenhagen / Copenhagen / Stockholm / Hambrug) but the sites show that the prices informations are unvailable ; does it means I have to wait a few more weeks until it’s available ? Thanks !
Bonjour,Je voyage en partant de France, j’ai le droit juste à 2 trajets aller retour mais je mets plus de temps que 2 trajets, j’en aurais besoin d’un troisième voire un quatrième savez vous comment faire?
I saw that there was another thread about this general topic but I would like to know if there is someone here who already made the experience of turning 28 while starting the journey and if it’s possible to activate the pass (mine is for two months/10days) before your birthday and start your first travel day after that and it’s still valid. In the Interrail description it states that you have to ‘start your journey’ (or similar) before your 28th birthday but does it mean activate the pass or actually start traveling? If someone already had that case please tell me about it - thank you!:)
Hi,I’m planning my first interrailing trip for this summer for my family, and could use some advise on seat reservations please. We are a group of 8, 4 of us having an interrail pass, 4 having an eurail pass as they live in China. 2 members of the group do not speak or understand English so they are reliant on being sat with those of us who can translate. I need to book seat reservations on some journeys, including Eurostar and TGV. My understanding is that if I book 4 seats with an interrail pass indicated, and make a separate reservation for the 4 people using an eurail pass, that it is unlikely to seat us all together. Does it actually matter if instead of splitting the group into 2 groups of 4 to make reservations, I make the seat reservations for 8 people in one reservation indicating that we all have an interrail pass, when 4 of us have an eurail pass? Thanks for any advice!
When I consult the Eurail planner app, for example, Narbonne-Carcassonne on June 28, 2025, at 7:11 a.m., no reservation is required. However, when I add it to my trip, only when I enter the specific trip, a required reservation appears, starting at €1.70, even though I'm booking a TER. Should I make a reservation in these cases?I bought a global pass.
I’m trying to make seat reservations via the oebb website and no matter which date I use the website tells me NO SEATS AVAILABLE. Is there any other way to reserve a seat?
Hi Everyone,Feeling a bit apprehensive!I booked a2 x 1st class seat reservations on a 17:09 Paris Montparnasse1 et 2 (TGV INOUI 8477) to Bordeaux departing at 17:09 and arriving at 19:17. I booked this via the Interrail EU website using the seat reservation tab.Last evening I went into my App to check all the times of the train tickets and noticed the ticket was issued for a train departing at 17:16 and arriving at 20:14. I was able to manually enter the 17:09 Paris Montparnasse1 et 2 (TGV INOUI 8477) to Bordeaux departing at 17:09 that fits with the seat reservation and generate a ticket. However I am now wondering which is the correct train time and is there a train departing Paris Montparnasse at 17:09 and arriving into Bordeaux at 19:17.Also if you have made seat reservations on the website why aren’t these copied into the ticket issued?Appreciate your help as this is one of several trips where the same thing has occurred.
We were getting a bus replacement for a train from Valencia del Norte to Zaragoza Delicias. When the ticket inspector looked at our interrail tickets she kept saying ‘no this is just your interrail ticket’. after a phone call she let us on. we were wondering if we still had to get an actual ticket with our interrail pass in the train station. thankyou
