Hi. My partner and I have planned to travel from Budapest to Ljubljana on July 26th, 2025. We've been trying for a while now to reserve seat tickets for the 9 a.m. departure from Budapest. But everywhere we've looked, it's not possible to reserve seats... Does anyone know why that is or how we can get it done?
Hi, I want to travel from Vienna to Trieste in July. Interail site says ‘No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection.’ I looked on the OBB website and it lets me buy supplements for that train but there is no seat reservation included. If I tick the ‘seat reservation’ box it says that the train is all booked up. Question – Does this mean that all seats for interail pass holders are sold out and if I just buy supplements will we be standing? Presume I can still buy tickets if I pay full price? odd that they let me purchase supplements if no seats were available!Thank you in advance!
We are taking the Glacier Express and ending in St. Moritz. We then are staying the night in Fussen. Do you know the best way to get to Fussen from St. Moritz?
Hi, I‘m planning to use my 7-day global ticket for a trip from Germany (my home country) to Austria soon, where I would use my outbound and my inbound day.Two weeks after that, I‘m planning another trip where I will be solely traveling outside of my home country. Can I do that or does my pass expire automatically after I have used both „home country days“ regardless if I have travel days left?Thank you and kind regardsFabi
Hello everyone,I am planning to travel to Italy in August, and I have several train journeys that require seat reservations. However, I am encountering some issues and would appreciate any advice. My planned trips are: 8th August: Milan to Venice 10th August: Venice to Milan 13th August: Milan to Brig The timetable for the Milan to Venice route keeps changing—sometimes there is a direct train available, and sometimes not.Additionally, when I try to make seat reservations through ÖBB applying a discount (Eurail Pass), I keep getting a message saying "ticket not available."Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can resolve it? Thank you very much for your help!
Hi, I want to book the sleeper from Cerbere to Paris in August, for me, my husband and my son. On Seat 61, he says that if you want the whole compartment to yourself you can add and pay for phantom children. I just wanted to check - is it really ok to do this? I’ve had a look at booking on trainline (without using the interrail pass) and I can’t seem to find the option to just book the whole compartment (because there’s only 3 of us I think?) so I’m considering booking the non-existent kids! So my questions are: Can I book WITH the pass and add phantom children (or can I not do this because the ‘phantom children’ won’t have a pass? Or should I just book without the pass and add the phantom children?? I’ve promised my son a sleeper train at some point in the holiday otherwise I would maybe avoid it! Thanks everyone :-)
Hi,I took EU rail passes for.my parents from india. We started our journey from munich to zurich(day 1) and want to travel.back to munich.(day2) Will the return trip be counted an outbound trip , i have a 15 day -2month pass. Thanks.
Hi, anyone struggling to reserve seats from Strasbourg to Salzburg on the 12th June 21:18?NJ468 Night jet Direction Paris Est Not sure what to do if I miss this train.
I’m thinking of reversing my trip a bit. We fly into Vienna and arrive at 11am. (From the US west coast - long flight.) We’ll need to go through immigration, but we do have Global Entry so hopefully that streamlines things. We also carry on our bags so no need to go to baggage claim. Our plans were to stay in Vienna for 5 nights, then take the train to Prague for 3 nights, then down to Salzburg for 2 nights, then back to a Vienna airport hotel for the last night. I’m wondering if it’s better to land in Vienna and go straight to Salzburg. That way we can add another night there, and end our trip with the 5 nights in Vienna. A little less moving around. Is it easy to get from the airport to Salzburg? Do we need to take the airport shuttle to the central train station first or is there a train from the airport? I see conflicting info. If we have to take the bus to the central train station, on a Tuesday would we need to purchase our tickets to Salzburg in advance? Ideally we’d love to
Hello everyone, I've been trying for months to book seats for the Berlin-Budapest train on July 20th at 7:28 PM, but it won't let me. Now, this train doesn't even appear anymore; instead, it appears to be one with a transfer. And on the company's official website, it does appear, but it says tickets aren't available for any date (including June, July, August, etc.). Does anyone know why the direct train isn't listed, if there isn't going to be one, or what's going on? Thank you very much.
I am from India so I can only get Eurail and not InterRail. I am looking to travel three countries (Italy, France & Spain), so I will get a global pass. But while in one country, I will use one city as base and make day trips as required. Since it will involve onward and return journeys,, are those two considered two separate trips for the purpose of Eurail pass usage?Or can I make any number of journeys between any number stations in one day? Confused because some other threads said as much, but the passes are for ‘x’ number of journeys in ‘y’ number of days. For instance 7 journeys in 15 days. So will Rome to Florence and back on the same day be one journey or two?
I have spent all morning trying to book a reservation for us in August, using our Global Interrail Pass, for a Blue Star Ferry crossing from Piraeus to Syros. The Pass gives you a 30% reduction and this is indicated on the booking form, with the reduced ticked price. There is a box where you have to fill in your discount details and I give the pass numbers of our activated Global Pass. However, when I get to the point when I want the payment to go through, a box flashes up saying that “The document number is not valid”.I tried this several times, then called the Greek number at the bottom of the page. The very helpful, English-speaking person who answered tried to book this passage for me, but lo and behold, the Global Pass number was indeed not valid. It needed to be a different number from the Rail company, ie Interrail. Nothing on their site, but a useful post on this forum which gave a link to activate a Pass Cover number which could be used for making reservations, starting with I
Apparently InterRail-planner does not show regional trains on FS lines in Alto Adige, that are operated by SAD (e.g. Brennero-Bolzano-Merano). As SAD and FS are cooperating on these lines in a traffic and tarif cooperation it should be normal, that you could use either train (FS as well as SAD) also with an interrail-pass, If not, that would mean, that you would have a train only every second hour instead of each hour.I understand, that Interrail is not accepted on Merano-Malles as this is now an SAD infrastructure. On the line of Val Pusteria (Fortezza-San Candido) it is less evident as this should still be an FS infrastructure but operated only by SAD trains (when not closed for works). But I think, it should be accepted on Brennero-Bolzano-Merano.I would be happy to have an answer about experiences in 2025!
I’m going from Berlin to Copenhagen and I’m making seat reservations. In the interrail-app it says that it’s only necessary to make reservations for the second train, so we’re planning on doing that. But should we also make reservations for the first train? Or will there be space for us either way? Because the app does not even say that it is recommended, just that’s it possible. And for the last train, we thought that we shouldn’t buy reservations since it’s so short and there’ll be risks that we are late and might have to take a later train or something. And ofc we want to save as much money as possible. <but the app recommends us to buy reservations. But do you think it’s fine to just let it be? So my questions are if we should book the first and the last train, or if you think it’s ok that we don’t. (we’ll have to take the first train to get to the second one, so that one we don’t want to miss, but if there’s no risk of us not getting on it, we don’t want to buy reservations). T
Trying to book 1st class seat reservation for ICE train from Hannover, Germany to Vienna, Austria on June 10 but it says there are none available. However, if I go into the Deutschebahn app it still shows 1st class tickets available for purchase. Why can I not book first class seat reservations? I have a 15 day eurail pass and just want to book a seat reservation only. I can’t do this through Eurial or RailEurope. They all show no reservations, but yet tickets are definitely available for purchase in 1st class… Does this also mean I will have no place to sit on the trip in 1st class?
When I select the reservation (Oslo to Myrdal, Norway) the only choice is mailed delivery of a paper ticket. With $10 shipping the total is over $22. Why isn’t there an option for electronic delivery like most others?
We saw this train, it says that there are no prices found because they are PROBABLY finished what should we do ? On the site it says we need to reserve the Seat on www.oebb.at but we have the pass and we’d like to use it. Can someone presse explain the process to us, tnx !
Good day you all!We just got back travelling with Eurail for 22 days, through France and Italy. We had first class tickets. Ons a previous Eurail trip through Germany, Austria and Switzerland that was definitely a pro. However, this time, we were almost never able to travel first class!I'm excluding reserved and high speed trains here.Normal trains in Italy, seldom háve a first class! In France, we experienced the same. So our first class ticket was actually a waste of money in these countries. I thought to share this for those of you who consider travelling first class.
Hi, i am planing to go to Strassbourg using Interrail train but am struggling with the seat reservation. I have checked different websites and could not find where to reserve a seat for this trip.Mein question is:Do we really need a seat reservation for this? Because Strassbourg is a border city and it does not require any seat reservation in Germany. If yes, is there any way to reserve it? I have tried with Interrail, Deutsche Bahn, bEurope and ACP Rail and neither of them works… :(
Hello,I was hoping someone here can help me with an issue that seems like it’s been going on for years. It looks like there are still no reservations available at all between Marseille and Barcelona on the direct RENFE AVE International train from Marseille to Barcelona. We can’t do the no reservation trip as 1) we have 3 kids, one of them only 4 y/o so 10 hours with multiple transfers isn’t feasible and 2) we would miss our flight. We already got the eurail pass and reservations for the other legs of the trip so will be a problem if we can’t get back to Barcelona on July 23rd.Any help would be greatly appreciated!Regards,Brian
I’m travelling from Lake Bled to Split in July and I planned to take a late train from Lake bled to Zagreb, Lujibliana or basically anywhere in Croatia that has night trains to Split but I’m struggling to find how to buy the tickets. When I looked on the eurail website before there were options that I could take and it said that I would be able to book seats 2 month before my journey. However, when I went back to the eurail website to book the train (because its now in 2 months) the page said that they couldn’t display any prices. I thought that maybe they still have not released tickets but when I searched up on the train providers website there was no night trains from Zagreb to Split on the timetable even though on their website they have information that in the summer months there is a night train from Zagreb to Split everyday and they also have a price list but no way to book. I don’t know what to do about this train as I have not booked accommodation for this night and I was plann
Tomorrow, Thursday June 20, I planned to take the train from Bialystok to Vilnius, with a change in Mockava. I have an interrail, first class, but I did not manage to make the obligatory reservation for the Lithanian train from Mockava to Vilnius. I really want to take that train, because I made appointments.Does anybody know what will happen when I beg or politely ask the Lithuanian conductor to let me travel, even in the corridor? It seems the train is just fully booked, and that was the reason why making a reservation failed, also at Bialystok station. Will the conductor send me away, do i get a fine, or can I still buy a reservation at the spot?Or should I try a bus instead?
heywe are leaving for a trip this summer with 2. But while figuring out how everything works I already come across a problem that I don't really understand. The app and the website are not in sync. On the website you can make a reservation (I think) and there you can add an extra traveler. But in the app this is not possible. So can I plan my trip via the website? Because I can't really plan a trip there I think. Can someone explain this to me please. And tell me how you did this. Thanks in advance Greetings
Hi there I am planning my first trip to Europe and purchased a eurail global pass but I am having trouble trying to book anything. I'd like to reserve 2 seats from Marseille to Barcelona on 17 May. I've tried ringing the France number but they can't even reserve the first leg to Nimes as they don't accept visa cards for payment. Is anyone able to tell me if it will be possible to use the eurail global pass to reserve seats from Marseille to Barcelona on 17 May please? We arrive in Paris on 8 May. The eurail pass sounded great but now I'm starting to think that it isn't going to work for us as I'm stuck. I've been reading other posts but I'm still stuck as I don't know how to make this work. Help please 🙏
I'm trying to book seat reservations for a day-trip from Interlaken to Engelberg (via Luzerne). The Eurail app days I can book it through them, and all of the other suggested booking sites also don't have this journey as an option to reserve seats. The first train is PE2915 (Panorama Express) to Luzerne. Hoping someone may be able to assist please?
