Hi I’m travelling with my partner and our 2 kids from stockholm to lulea and back by nigth train. Is it possible to reserve a full 6 compartment (meaning 2 beds “left free”) ? for how much is it possible if we have a 4 days pass ? I know it’s possible to reserve a full 2nd class 6 beds compartment on the SJ website for a price, but not sure with interrail. Thanks a lot for any answer !
Hello,I’m planning to buy a Global Pass with Refund Protection now and get seat reservations using it (trip is 5 months out). What if I see discount on Global Pass later -- can I refund the 1st Pass and transfer reservations to the one I buy at discount?Thank you!Kirill
Hi there! My husband and I are planning a trip this April-May to visit Italy, Switzerland, and Croatia. We are a little confused about...How far in advance we should buy train tickets. Friends/family have said you can buy the day of or day before and don’t have any issues with not being able to get on a train. Is this true? Traveling from Venice to Interlaken. When we go through the purchase ticket flow, we are prompted to buy a Eurail Pass and they are SUPER expensive. Can you not just buy one-off tickets? Do we have to buy a pass? Buying tickets from one country to another. Is this a more complicated process? Thanks for your help!-Claire
Hi everyone, I’m trying to reserve seats on a train from Venice to Paris on 19 July but there only some very long and slow options currently available. Will the faster trains become available later? It’s just I’m worried about booking the right Eurostar connection.thanks for your help!
Hello allMy partner and I are from Australia and want to get a 10 day pass.. this seems all great and all but how do you which trains require reservations and not ? We want to travel from Munich- Switzerland-Austria- back up Germany and then Netherlands.. all I could see was tou need reservations for high speed and night trains... Are you always able to get a train with this 10 day pass without reserving ? It is just hard to pre book everything as things don't always work out or run on time in your favourThanks community 🙏 Marty and Verity
I am.leaving the UK in 10 days, and I want to buy a paper global pass. On the website, it says it will arrive by 27th February, but I leave on the 14th. Does anyone know if it is likely to take that long to arrive? Thank you, Sue
What should I do if the train i booked is late and I don't catch the next train on time?
I should explain two things:(a) My wife and I know precisely which trains we plan to take for our trip.(b) When we travel overseas we like to have both belt and braces. So in the past we have always had both of our tickets on each of our phones and also have had printed copies. Will this work as a plan for our trip which involve seven days of travel. Some time before we travel we will activate our passes and put each of our own tickets onto our respective passes. We will then take screenshots of each of our tickets which we will then ensure are put on BOTH of our phones. We will also have make printouts of the screenshots of the tickets. Then as security against something going wrong and having to change our plans, we will deactivate the passes, and we will then reactivate them much closer to the time of travel and this time input the tickets for real.Peter
Hey, i was trying to add to my pass some train from london or edimburgh, but doesn’t matter which destination i put, the interrail.eu website tell me i can’t boo kthe seat from this website. What i have to do for booking seat and adding this trains on my pass?
Hi, although tickets are available for the Berlin to Paris nightjet, it is impossible to get seat reservation (nor couchette) on any night train on this route as for february, march or april.I tried on OBB website, nightjet website, DB website none is working. As for the interrail booking system, I must already own a pass to try to see the fees.Any information about why is it so difficult on this particular route?
I honestly don't understand what this means. English isn't my mother language and sometimes I struggel. But maybe I'm just dumb. Does this mean, that after the 1st of April its included in the pass? Thanks for the help🤗
For the trains that don't require seat reservation it is enough to show the QR code from the Discover EU App, or it is necessary something else, too?
How do I book for the Bernina Express?Do I search Bernina Express or Milan to Zurich? How do I know it's rhe scenic route?Apologies for the stupid question, very newto me😉
Hello,my husband will be traveling to Italy this April. I am looking into a pass. I was wondering if a rail pass is the way to go or if I should just book individual trips via trenitalia? Milan to Venice Venice to Florence florence to Naples/potisanonaples to Rome. flying out of Rome. all tips are appreciated.
I nearly got caught out on this one, remember i havnt been on a train about 30 years never mind travelling to switzerland from ireland and travelling around on trains, there was a transfer that stated short transfer,11.55 pm - 03.55am, ( could be differnt time within minutes), it stated 47 hours or such so i thought it was a bug, what i didnt know is trains stop at around 12 at night and resume at around 4 next morning, only i noticed i wouldve been stuck at a train station 4 hours or looking at hotel, another thing the airport closes also 4 hours
Hope someone can help me please. I have a 7 days EURail pass and I am going to these countriesLondon to Praque . FlyPraque to Vienna 4 hrs train. Buy ticket approx. Euro 20Vienna to Budapest 2.5 hrs train Buy ticket approx Euro 20 to 30Budapest to Zurich will take overnight train using EURail pass Day1 Zurich to Lucerne 1 hr train . Using EURail Pass Day 2Lucerne to Interlaken area for using EURail Day Pass 3 to 7 My question is whether it is a waste to use Day 2 Pass to Day 7 Pass in Switzerland or should I use it to travel from London to Praque or Zurich back to London instead of flying. Night train would be good but I cant find any such night train except from Budapest to Zurich. Will my EURail pass be well utilized in Switzerland in terms of savings?-
Hi there,I’m trying to book a train from Paris to Amsterdam on Sunday, April 13th. Weirdly, Eurostar doesn’t have any bookings possible on their website for that day (greyed out that weekend as well as Fri-Sun the weekend after, Easter weekend) and other 3rd-party sites (raileurope.com, omio) do have train options with Eurostar but require two transfers… Maybe there’s no service for the holidays? Not sure...So now I’m looking at Monday, April 14th since those have direct trains but I’m not sure how I can book one ticket with an Interrail pass and three tickets without an Interail pass for my sister and her two kids. I live in Berlin so it’s not possible for us to get to a Eurostar terminal to book the tickets. I could try asking a friend but was hoping there might be another solution? Any help would be much appreciated!Thank you!
I am traveling with my daughter (3yo). She does not hold an eurail pass, since you can’t purchase one for minors under 4. I will be taking trains leaving and returning the European Union (going to and back from London) but I don’t know if she needs to have a booked seat for those trains.
I wanted to ask questions on how seat availability is on trains which state “This is a popular train. Seat reservations are recommended but not required.”. For example theres a train from budapest to Prague but it says seats are recommended. Obviously if its possible to save money I would want to not pay unnecessarily for seats that are available without booking. For context we are group of 4 people and was wondering if all 4 would be enough for these kinds of trains. Would highly appreciate someone who has done this trip before and has experience to give advice on the subject
Dear Interrail Community,I would like to go on a three-week round trip in July.I have planned:1. night train from Cologne to ViennaQuestion: Can I also use night trains with the Global Pass?2. Vienna to Bratislava3. Bratislava to Štrbské PlesoQuestion: I cannot select Štrbské Pleso. When I enter “Štrbské Pleso” in my “Add new destination” planning, it doesn't find the city. What am I doing wrong?Question: I want to hike here for a week. Is this a good starting point for nice routes? Or do you have better suggestions?4. Štrbské Pleso to Krakow5. Krakow to Wroclaw6. Wroclaw to ChemnitzQuestion: Here I have the same problem as with Štrbské Pleso - the place is not found???7. Chemnitz to Cologne.I would be very happy to receive your tips and tricks.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Hello. After buy my Eurail Global Pass I need to have a book for each train of my pass? I need to make reservation for each train? (I mean reservation ticket, not seats reservations) or only I need to go directly to platform on each station? Thanks.
Looking forward to my first Eurail trip in April/May.I am still confused about what I do if I want to travel on a service that is not currently listed in the train planner app?I am told that this can be done ‘manually’, but the ‘official’ services listed have a particular format and set of conventions that I might find difficult to manually replicate. Is it actually easy to ‘manually’ add a train journey that is not found in the mobile rail planner? kind regards

Hi, this is my 1st trip to Europe so it is rather confusing when i was trying to understand the type of pass to buy ie Swiss Travel Pass or Eurorail. i am also unsure which route would require me to make reservation and the cost involved etc. For my maiden trip to Europe, I am planning a 2 weeks trip to Switzerland and Italy. Here’s my draft itinerary: Day 1 : Head to Rhine Falls from Zurich Airport Day 2 to 3 : In Lucerne : Mt Titli, Old Town, Bilten Day 4 to 5 : Grindelwald : Jungfraujoch
