Any issues because of CrowdStrike while travelling by train in the EU? News outlets are mostly yabbing about problems at airports but those do not interest me for one bit.

Evening all! I was planning to travel from Laufenberg to Friedrichshafen on sunday the 25th August, They just got a notification about a timetable change and now it can’t find an alternative connection. Should I wait a few days and see if it fixes itself or is it better to pursue other routes? Or is it due to engineering works? fbanks!

Wondering if there is a train the runs from Geneva Airport to Chamonix? How can I find the schedule? Thanks so much in advance. 

Hi Every one, I am planning a trip from Hamburg to Italy for 7 days by booking Eurail Global Pass along with my wife and kid(5 years) in August month end.Route is like this:Hamburg → Milan → Venice → Florence → Pisa → Rome → Vatican city → HamburgI have few questions related to this ticket.Is it good idea to travel with this ticket rather than multiple Train tickets ? Will this ticket will be valid across the Local Trains,Buses,Metros, Trams and Ferrys ? If seat reservation needed , then can I book the seat through DB App or website or corresponding service provider app or web rather than booking in this app as its saying more than its service provider app.

When buying an Interrail pass on interrail.eu, "Plus" (23 EUR extra) is automatically added on checkout. If you don't want that, you first have to notice it and then unselect it. I'm not sure if it's allowed to add optional extras automatically but regardless of that: it is undesired. Please change that. If you click on "Continue shopping" during checkout and then return to the checkout later, then "Plus" is added back again! This is even less desirable, since you should be able to trust that your order is not changed after you've saved it.Any feedback from Eurail (@Nanja :) appreciated.

Hello, mijn naan ik Liset en ik ben mijn eerste interrail reis aan het plannen/reserveren voor begin Augustus. Nu ga ik o.a. van Madrid naar Lyon via Narbonne. Nu kan ik voor moet ik voor beide stukken een stoel reserveren en bij het eerste gedeelte krijg ik de melding dat het niet via interrail.eu gereserveerd kan worden. Bij de ‘other ways to book this seat reservation’ staat: ‘Book in person at a main station in Europe’ of ‘Reseervations only locally at train station in Spain’. Mijn vraag is of ik dus gewoon in NL op Den Haag Centraal een reservering kan doen of dus alleen wanneer ik op Madrid op het station ben en of dit dan het desbetreffende station moet zijn waar ik van vertrek? Bedankt

Currently railing round europe on a 7 day pass largely making it up as i go.  I havent used any inbound or outbound days yet and one oprion i have is i could fly back to uk from a european city after using 5 days up.  Question is if both remaining outbound and inbound days are still unused could i use them to go to somewhere in uk?  Or somewhere in europe (say a weekend in amsterdam) or would they be lost?

A couple of weeks ago it looked like raileurope.com had introduced a €7,45 booking fee for reservations-only. A few days later the fee disappeared again. See the last part of this topic (it got a bit off-topic from the original question): A few days ago, I had a e-mail conversation with Raileurope about another subject. But I also asked them what this temporary booking fee was about. Was it just a bug or was it their intention to putting fee on reservations only. I got an answer back, that they had no intention to put a fee on reservation.They also said that if I had been charged for a booking fee, I should contact them. That was not the case for me (I was just worried about future reservations). But if anyone else has been charged for a booking fee from raileurope.com, I would encourage them to contact Raileurope. Maybe you can get a refund (In the e-mail, they said that they would “investigate and assist”). Please include booking reference number.Palle Dam

Another French region will try to manage their inability to provide enough capacity by making reservations mandatory:2 TER lines in Grand Est will have mandatory reservations from 1 July:https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/economie-social/a-partir-de-cet-ete-la-reservation-sera-obligatoire-dans-les-ter-vallee-de-la-marne-6533098Paris - Troyes - Belfort - Mulhouse Paris - Épernay - St. Dizier/Bar-le-Duc (possibly all the way from/to Strasbourg for the few trains that do that)The reservations are supposed to be free of charge and available from 1 March. No idea however, how or where they can then be booked.

As I have noticed, the Rail Planner app is not the best choice to track the platforms and changes in time of trains as it is not really updated. Then, is there an app that I can search all of my trains and can see the live tracker of time of arrival/delays, and which platforms I need to get on and off?  I know it is possible to see the screen on the station, but my trip consists of multiple big trip with 3-4 transits and I need to hop and and off very quickly in some of them. It would be very nice to be able to live track my train when I am in it, then see which platform it will arrive on, and see which platform I need to be for my next train. So I already have an idea in mind before getting of the train. Most app like trainline, DB app (please tell me if i’m wrong), offer the live updates thing, but I think I can only plan my trip if I purchase the tickets on their app itself. But if we have interaill pass, we don’t really “book” any of our trips, only the ones with seat reservation. 

I just bought the Global Pass (5 days) for a journey with 5 friends and i realize now that i had to buy all the passes for all the 6 people (me included) but i only bought my pass.Is this a problem or its better to buy separate passesIf this is a problem there is a way to solve this?

Hi,I have EuroRail Global pass.I have just made the reservation on NightJet for  Zurich to Prague for my family (2 adult , 1 youth and 1 child).My question was: Is this reservation sufficient or do I need to book a ticket also for that route using by Euroral Global Pass ? Please advise, Thanks

I expect the answer to this is “no” but …Does anyone know if there’s a way to export the data from “my trip” from a mobile pass in some kind of machine-readable form, e.g. something that can be imported into Excel?

Hi!Tomorrow I will head from Bologna to Florence and I see I can do it with Frecciarossa. I have a global pass second class and saw at the site from Seat61 that there would be a pass holder fee of €13 for that train. But after trying to book it at Raileurope, it says the railpass doesnt apply on the trip. Can somebody confirm that it will be more than €13 to reserve the train?Thanks!

Hi there,I am planning to travel from Utrecht to Düsseldorf. The rail planner shows Supplement required.Does anyone know how much would cost for the supplement and can I pay it on board? Any other way to pay will be cheaper? I have 1st class Global Pass.Thank you for the help.Xufang 

I have tried to exchange global passes for new ones. I followed the procedure in 'My Account' but it looks like a refund is being processed. Have I done something wrong? 'Request exchange' option did not appear anywhere.

hiI need to get from Geneva to Montreux on the morning of Aug 6th because I have the panoramic train from Montreux to Interlaken booked for 9:34am. Originally I saw a direct train at 8:10am from Geneva to Montreux that would get us there in time for the 9:34 train. I don’t see that train anymore instead there is 7:42am train with one stop. Do train schedules change often? Or can expect this to be final?I am wondering if we should just get to Montreux the night before instead so that we are relaxed for our 9:34am scenic train? thanks

I’ve tried booking seat reservations for vienna to zurich (for 19th September) both using the eurail website and the OBB website but I’m having no success. On the OBB website it shows seats are only available for part of the journey but when I check ticket availability there appears to be plenty. When I use the eurail website my reservation comes back saying theres a problem with one section of the journey. Help!!

Hi there,I tried to organise a trip from Antwerp (Belgium) to Amersfoort (Netherlands). It shows on the last part of the trip as 'BUS34230‘. But next to it shows ‘Train’.Does anyone know this is BUS or TRAIN?Thanks for the help!Xufang 

I had my app set up for a trip in September with all the planned trains entered onto the ‘My Trip’ which was linked to the pass, although I had not yet activated the pass.I also bought a second pass for a trip in December which I loaded onto the app and created a new trip which I linked to this second pass.I’m not sure what went wrong then.  Clearly I did something wrong as  all the information that I had entered onto ‘My trip’ for September disappeared.    I tried to sort things out and got into a bit of a mess.  (At one point I managed to create a ‘Duplicate Trip’ which I deleted.)  I, then, decided that it would be wise just to delete the pass and the associated Trip for December holiday and only put these onto the app once the holiday in September was over.I, then re-entered all the journeys that had disappeared from the September trip.This morning I look again at my app and what I see is:(a) the pass that I will be using in September (good)(b) My trip linked to the pass I will be

My childrean are 10 years, 7 years, 4 years, 2 and half, 2 and half (twins) and 1 year.  I am buying 2 Adult tickets and 4 kids ticket as i cant buy more do i need to buy ticket for 2 and half and 1 year if they traveling wiht us. please can any let me know. Hi my dear fellow Interrailers, I have a question:I already planned and activated my journey from Hamburg to France and back. I wanted to go from Paris to Mannheim with the ICE and researved seats, but now I’d rather go one stop further to Frankfurt. Do you think I have to delete my journey plan and activate the new ticket or is it possible just to keep sitting this one stop in the ICE, even if I have to stand for the one station? Since I’m travelling with my kids and have several trains on the day before Paris I’m not so keen on deleting an re-activating everything.Thanks for your comments :)Nadia
