Get ready to travel

Hello,I would like to travel from Oslo to Bergen using a night train then go back towards Oslo while visiting the other train stops between Bergen and Oslo. I would like to do that during August and since it’s to early to book tickets, I would like to know if I need to pay a fee for a sleep cabin for a night train and seats for regular train?thank you 

Using Eurail to book Bernina Express (train PE 952) reserved seats apparently costs $15 (USD).  But booking reserves seats on the same train thru the Rhätische Bahn website  www.rhb.ch costs CHF 26 ($28.87 USD).  Is this correct??Will Rhätische Bahn (Bernina Express) honor the Eurail-booked seat reservation?

Hello everyoneI would like to book the night train from Stockholm to Berlin. The travel date is July 12th and I would like to make a reservation now as the European Championships are taking place in Berlin at the same time. However, when I try to do this via the Interrail website, I get the following error message: Prices not availableNo results were found. Reservations for this connection may be sold out for Pass holders. However, there are other ways to find available seats. You can find more information under our timetable.The sj website also says not available when booking. Am I too early with my booking or is there another problem?

Hello,I'm contacting you because I have a Global Interrail pass and I'd like to take a train journey from Athens to Patras. This journey is included in the pass, but when I book (seat reservations are compulsory), by clicking on "when and how to book", Interrail suggests that I visit these websites: superfast ferries, anek lines, hellenic seaways.Do you know on which site I can book my journey with the Interrail discount?Also, do you know when bookings will open for this route in August?Thank you

Hello,I'm looking at the routes from Athens to Kiato by train (with the interrail pass).When I add the train in the Rail Planner application, I realise that I can't book the ticket, it only says "no reservation" when I click on "show services".Does this mean that I don't need to book a ticket and simply activate it as a journey on the application?Thanks in advance

Hi I am planning to visit Sweden , Germany , Austria , and Italy in August. I was planning on buying a 5 day pass but was confused if the pass is for 5 days of my choosing or if it’s consecutive days?  Also for example if I went to two countries in one day would that be using 1 day or 2 ?

Hello !Tomorrow (23/03) I planned to travel from Copenhagen to Paris. My trip planned was :7h26 Copenhagen -> Schleswig (seat reserved)10h39 Schleswig -> Hamburg (without seat)12h24 Hamburg -> Mannheim (without seat) (train ICE 77)17h38 Mannheim -> Paris (seat reserved)The problem is that, when I look at Deutsche Bahn site the train from Hamburg to Mannheim does not departure at 12h24 but 10h27 (so 2h before I arrive there...).I see that now when we want to reserve a Copenhagen -> Paris in Interrail website for tomorrow they suggest a trip that goes through Koln and not Mannheim, but I don't have a ticket for Hamburg -> Koln and Koln -> Paris. Do you know what I can do? Should I reserve the other trip and hope they will refund me the first trip?

Hi there felow Interrailers, First, this forum is mega-super-overcomplicated,  cannot find a type-in field to ask my question, just conversations…My question: bought a 3-month Global Pass and wanna reserve for the summer an eurostar to London from Bruxelles, but, Rail Europe page sais my Interrail number is not valid. Do I need to activate it  to be able to reserve…?(I still donÍt want to activate it coz don’z know exactly the starting date...) Thank you, cheersDavid

Hello,I'm contacting you because I'd like to book a night train on the OBB Night jet website, departing from Paris and arriving in Vienna on Saturday 3 August 2024 at 7.12pm, using the Global pass interrail.I see on the OBB Night jet website that there are no offers available on that date. I was travelling last night in EN 40457 from Dresden to bratislava. I was robbed in the train. My bag was pulled off broke the bag zip took off my phone and cash and went off. How is this possible? Like is this so easy in the trains? You don't have any such security maintained? Moreover there was no one in the coach to help me no police no focal person of the coach. Please help me what should I do? 

I am trying to book outward trip on 09/05/2024 from Ljubljana to Trieste on EC134 out Ljubljana 14.25 - arrival Trieste 17.16. It is the fastest direct connection, but can not be booked through the Interrail app. How do I travel on this route?

Hi, I’m Alejandra Quintero. I bought two global passes of Interrail. Next week I start my trip.I don’t have the option to reservate the sit in the application of interrail. Do you have the same problem?? How do you reserve a place in the app?? 

My wife and I are planning to visit the UK from the US this June. We are starting in London then heading to Norwich - York - Stirling - Inverness - Bristol - and finally leaving from Paris. We’ll be spending several days at each town and will use them as hubs to explore nearby towns by rail. Will Eurail suffice or would a Britpass (with separate ticket to Paris) be a better option? The Eurail planner doesn’t seem to let me pick a few of those. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Does the pass include trains between cities within a country ? (For example: from Vienna ,Austria to salzburg, Austria ) 

This summer I will travel from Paris (Austerlitz) to Pau with SNCF’s night train. I have just read this article about the French “Intercités de Nuit”: https://www.raileurope.com/en/trains/intercites-de-nuitIt says that there is an X-ray check at the station i Paris (I assume that is the Austerlitz station) and that passengers are advised to arrive at the station at least 30 min. before departure.I can not find anything about X-ray checks at Austerlitz anywhere else than this Raileurope article. The only time I have heard about X-ray at train stations is for Eurostar trains and Spanish trains. There might also be an X-ray machine by the luggage storage, but that is another thing. Can anyone confirm or refute that there will be an X-ray check at Austerlitz station for night train departures? My issue is that I will bring a backpack with camping equipment (for hiking in the Pyrenees), that may or may not give me some trouble. But the article does not mention what they are checking for.Pal

Hello! I’ve been keeping an eye trying to book trains in Italy mid-to-late August! Every search I do seems to turn up no results! I appreciate it’s a popular time so I’ve been keeping an eye out for months now.I’m now concerned that the trains are fully booked! Given my searches are turning up available results in September (where they weren’t before)any advice on what to do/how to reserve would be appreciated. TIA.

Hallo,The community has already given me great guidance and I am back, now with more specific questions :)  If I were to visit one or more of the places below, how are links to get an interrail train to either Luxembourg, or Bruxelles, or Lille / Paris if need be.  Eventually going to London.Ideally I would like to end in Luxembourg as have not been there. Sankt Anton am Arlberg-located near the summit of the Arlberg Pass Seefeld in Tirol. Hello All,I am trying to book six First Class seat reservations from Zurich to Munich return on July 11 and 14,I know that it maybe still early to book seat reservations with DB.The  DB site allows a booking of 4 seats and then another 2 seats reservation for my dates.I am concerned that our party will not be on the same coach.Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and when will it be possible to book mandatoryseat reservations for July?Cheers

Hi fellow traintakers, I have an itinerary made for a trip to Italy, but was wondering how many travel days I will need since it includes night trains. 31st of March: Ghent to Munich31st of March to 1st of April: Munich to La Spezia nighttrain 11th of April to 12th of April: La Spezia to Munich nighttrain12th of April: Munich to Ghent Is this three or four travel days? Could I still make a trip from Ghent to Berlin with the same pass (which includes 4 travel days in total). Thank you!
