Get ready to travel

Hi everyone. Next month I am planning on travelling during weekends, and I was thinking of buying a 7 days interrail pass instead of buying single train tickets. My idea is to travel to Italy, then go back home. The following weekend traveling to the Netherlands, then be back again, and the weekend after again traveling to Berlin and back. Can I do that? Or does it need to be a continuous trip?Thanks in advance!

Hi, we're a family with 2 adults and 2 kids of 4,5 years old. We're traveling with second class interrail tickets. We're taking the night train from Cerbère to Paris in April. Yesterday I bought our seat reservations asking for a 4-berth couchette in order to  not disturb other travelers. The person selling us the tickets didn't ask any questions and sold us couchette places in a 4 person couchette. Checking the tickets afterwards, I saw that it's a first class couchette while we only have second class interrail. Would this cause any problems? If so, can I still change these tickets to a 6 person couchette?Thanks a lot.Hannah

Hi. I purchased 2 global passes but forgot to add my children. I wanted to exchange (read the policy) it said I had to ask for a refund first which I did and they just said accepted. But I don’t want to loose the any money, I just wanted to exchange to put my children on them and pay the $15 euro. Now what do I do?? Is there anything I can do?it said I had to ask for a refund but then I got an email saying accepted. I thought it would take me to another option to exchange help! Aussie who has never used these before 

My partner has both of the passes on his iPad. We want to transfer them both to my phone. I read somewhere that you can only transfer passes once. Is this the case?

I am trying to plan my trip in the Eurail app. The train times  says seat reservations are required but says N/A in the pricing area with nothing to click on What does this mean? 

Hi Please can someone help me. I can’t seem to find the train departures from Madrid to Oviedo and between Ferrol to Porto. I have an interrail global pass but the train times aren’t showing in the journey planner. I’ve heard things about Renfe but what can I do? I’m going end of April 2024. Have Renfe not released the tickets yet and if so when will I know? thanks Will

I’m new to Eurail so apologies for my knowledge not being up to scratch.I hold a Eurail 2nd Class Global Pass and looked to make a seat reservation on this route for upcoming July. The Eurail site indicates reservations are not available until 90 days prior yet they seem to already be for sale on Rail Europe website. However the pass is not eligible for the direct route - is this because it is 2nd Class? Can I only use it on the train with a change in Narbonne?Also, in this situation where seats are for sale but not open to passholders, is there a risk that passholders could miss out on a seat, or are a certain number of seats reserved for passholders.Thanks!    

So i have a 7 day pass valid for 30 days. I have planned and created my trip but havent yet activated the pass. My question isIf i activate the pass the night before first day of travel and connect it to the trip, am i then allowed to change the trip for following days. For example, on day 1 i travel to interlaken and as per my trip i plan on going to Lucerne on day 2 which is what i have planned on my trip. Can i change my mind and go on day 3 instead? When i say days i mean just days and not travel days.Trying to understand if i can chabge my trip after travelling the first day. Hope that makes sense.  I want to be able to have tbe freedom to decide based on weather etc if we do day 2 travel day as per planned trip or can that be changed. Thanks

I see other questions answered as tap on + sign on my pass page. But I don’t see + sign at all  

I cannot pay for seat reservations as my payment cards are not accepted. I use a Mastercard. Any ideas as to a resolution?

This will be my first time traveling to France from Canada. Wanting to avoid flying with Boeing at this time, I am exploring other ways to approach my destination of Paris. One flight route could land us in Dublin. Is it viable for 2 active Seniors to take the train(s) from Dublin to England, through the Chunnel to Paris?

Hello,I am trying to book seat reservations via oebb.at (as recommended in this community) for traveling in and out of Italy. The trip is on 20-04-2024 from Florence to Lugano. I am trying to book FR9504 from Florence SMN to Milano Centrale, departing at 6:55. And EC316 from Milano to Lugano, departing at 9:10 from Milano Centrale. However, via the OEBB site the seat reservations cannot be booked. What is going wrong? Should I just book them via Interrail reservation tool?Kind regards,Daniël 

Hi, I am trying to make a reservation on a domestic greek ferry. The last years, I have made it through email, but this year they want me to do it online. They want me to enter my activated pass cover number. I have tried to explain, that I have a paper pass. They don't seem to understand me, and asking for the same activated number. Anyone know if it not possible to use the paper pass anymore, to get the discount? Eurail/Interrail: it is mandatory to insert the activated Pass Cover Number during the booking process.  This is from the web site. Nothing about paper passes.  Regards Karina 

Hello,I want to make reservations for TGV in France and Eurostar from Paris to Amsterdam.I’ve seen that the Eurostar can be booked through the website of the SNCB but unfortunaly TGV can’t be and it is not possible on the website of the SNCF neither.But I’ve seen that both can be booked through RailEurope but I wanted to be sure I could trust the website since it is not from any national carrier and that I will not have tickets that are not valid when I board the train or something like that. Does anyone have ever used this website ? And additionnaly do they charge a booking fee and how much ?Thank you very much

Hi!Me & my friend are thinking of getting the 4 day pass and was wondering if anyone had any ideas/trip itineraries?  London will be our 'home base' so we will be starting and ending there. (Although I'm from Newcastle so if anybody knows how i can use it to get from Newcastle to London that would be great as it would save me driving down) We are open to go anywhere is europe and are very comfortable traveling abroad. Also how does the Eurostar work when you have a interrail pass??  Thanks in advance!!!

My husband & I are travelling within the UK as well as Italy & Switzerland on a 15 day Flexible Global Pass. Can this Pass be used everywhere in the UK? 

hello!We would do a interrail family from Rome (Italy) to Sweden, with stops in Munich, Copenaghen, Malmo, Stockholm, and back. We would use a night train from Rome to Munich, and from Munich to Copenhaghen. But I can’t unterstand if night trains costs are included in Interrail family ticket or not, (in this case the amount of the difference to pay), and how we can book reservations, having children..Thank you very much!

Hello,I’m planning an interrail trip with my friends this summer and we would like to take the nighjet train from Paris to Vienna, but seat reservations seem to be only availble until may. Does someone know how many months in advance the reservations for nightjet usually open ?Thank you

 I want to interrail with my friends and apply for the free pass. However, it seems that, in order to apply, we need to have 18 years old in the first semester of the year. Only I will have 18. What does this mean?? Will it be impossible? This rule just seems weird .

Hey, me and a group of 18 others are planning a trip to Slovenia from Brussels. We were thinking of using interrail but still aren't sure if it is the cheapest option. We would like to use the national train and bus system as well and maybe even venture out to Croatia. Anyone has experience with this?Thank-you
