Hello, my name is Nolan. I am currently living in the UK and have the official proof of temporary residence but I’m not a permanent resident. Should I choose the Eurail Pass or Interrail Pass?

Thanks a lot!

Since the beginning of September, all travelers buy Interrail passes, no matter where you live. Eurail passes are phased out. If you have bought a Eurail pass that is still valid, but if you are a non European resident and buy a pass now, you buy an Interrail pass and indicate your country of residence before selecting the pass.

The thread is 4 years old. The previous answer was probably valid and correct back then, wasn’t it? I dont think its a good approach to delete this. Also, if someone finds this thread now, which is rather unlikely with only 370 views after 4 years, what is the consequence of this outdated information? Eurail passes are not sold anymore.

If there is the need to inform here, then better just inform with an own post, but please don’t delete posts from someone which were valid when they wrote it. If it is a bigger thing, just introduce a forum possibility that you can mark a thread as “Outdated - does not apply to current conditions of use anymore”.

Thank you for raising this concern. To clarify, the removed answer, which was originally posted by one of our moderators, was already incorrect and outdated at the time the thread was active. We only became aware of this error recently, when a current user relied on the information without noticing the thread’s date and selected the wrong country of residence when purchasing an Interrail Pass.

On the advice of our Legal Advisor, we therefore removed the answer entirely rather than simply correcting it or marking the thread as outdated, so that no current users are misled into making the wrong decision. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!
