Greek Islands Pass - last day of validity

Hello everyone, 

 

I have a Greek islands interrail pass of 4 days and today is the last day of its validity period. I have booked an overnight ferry ticket for tonight with departure time before the expiration of the pass, which based on the rules I read online should be possible to connect to the pass, as the departure day counts instead of the arrival one when it comes to overnights. 
However, when I try to connect it to my pass, I receive an error saying that I cannot add it. 
 

I sent a support request about but I am afraid I might not be able to receive an answer on time and I wanted to also ask here and see if someone has had a similar problem and what you did about.

Unfortunately it won’t be valid.

Yes, it will only use one travel day - the day of departure.

But all of your travel has to take place within the validity of the pass. You can’t use your pass to take a night train/ boat on the last day of validity.

That’s a bit unfortunate.  Is it just the Greek islands pass where this applies, or is it for everything, so a sleeper train hits the same issue?

If so, it doesn’t seem very logical.

Applies to everything. It seems logical to me: your pass is only valid until 23:59 on the last day of validity; all travel must be completed by then. 

I think the only exception would be if you plan to arrive before midnight, but get delayed. 

The ‘only use one travel day with a sleeper’ works every other day of you pass, but not the last.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense both ways.

I would have classed it in the same way as a sleeper during the normal validity - you consume a travel day by taking the sleeper, but you don’t consume another one when the time ticks over to 00:01 and you are on the same train.

My take on it (but I accept this isn’t the case) is that your pass would need to be valid when your trip starts, but as long as you don’t change trains it remains valid until the journey ends.
