Interrail Passes

We've booked all the trains on our itinerary, except for one that's causing us problems: a train from Brussels to Paris that will leave around 16:00 on July 14. We've booked in advance, but we can't seem to make a reservation, even though the train does exist... yet it's as if it doesn't exist on b-europe.com. Do you have any advice?

I'm in Sweden and the conductor just informed me that I need to sign in to the Eurail app to make a reservation for this train. However, the app is asking for a six character pass code. It says it is in my confirmation email, but the only pass number there is nine characters -- an E followed by eight digits.I have a paper Eurail pass, because I am a neanderthal and technology frightens me. How do I find the six character pass number? Or, how can I make reservations without the app? I've already made about a dozen trips on my pass, but this Swedish conductor is the first that insisted I need a reservation.

I am trying to manually add ThamesLink journey from St Pancras to London Bridge because the Eurail app does not show trains. I have done this previously about 2 years ago but don't remember exactly how it's done. The Eurail app gives the following screen on starting manual addition: I entered the times approximately and train number is optional. Is this enough to generate a valid ticket or should I get exact train times from the ThamesLink app as below and put in exact departure and arrival times? Thanks in advance for your time!

Hi there, My partner and I have finally purchased two eurail passes as we are travelling from Australia. We have not activated them as yet as we dont travel until june 16th this year. We both have the app on mobiles but are wondering how does this get validated by the train conductors ? Do they just check your phone for the pass or do they scan your phone ? Or do you have to print off a ticket every time from your phone to make a train trip ? I have always used and paid for paper tickets so this is very new for us, especially cause we plan to make 10 train trips so hoping for this to be simple. We may also need to get phone plans overseas as not sure if there is always working wifi. Thanks again..

I am planning a trip in September/October starting from southern England and at the moment finishing in Vienna. If I flew to Scotland at the end of this trip could I use my inbound day of travel for a train from Scotland back to southern England? If that’s acceptable does the inbound travel day start as soon as I step off the flight or can it be started within the validity period for the global pass? Thanks in advance

I purchased my electronic passes (for two senior travelers) and put them into the Rail Planner app. Then I went to the website and purchased my reservations for three different days.  I was able to print those reservations. When I go to board the train, do I just show the reservations?  Or do I somehow need to show the pass on my phone?  I don’t understand how to bring up the pass.  It wants me to add Trips and Journeys, and I don’t really understand that since I have my reservations already - which are already in the app but not part of a “Journey.”  Oh, help!  I’m so confused and worried that the pass won’t work when we are there. One more question.  If I’m traveling to and from a destination on the same day, both trips only count as one day, right?

I fear I have been hacked by someone impersonating EurailPass. I need to speak with someone to be sure that my transactions have been legitimate, PLEASE.

Hi there!I’m travelling from UK > France > Spain in late May/June, and a family member purchased a Eurail pass for me which I’ve now loaded onto my phone but for some reason I cannot get my booking for the first leg of the journey onto the app? The family member already purchased seat reservations for us and I have the confirmation emails but that particular leg of the journey and times do not show up and there does not seem to be an easy way to add it. Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Hello Fellow travellerswe are coming in may and i cant seem to get any answers to my questions!do each of us (two adults and 1 youth - 16 year old and two 9 year old) need our passes on our own phones? .kids dont have internet nor devices my 16 year old has a phone but wont have internet access if we get a pass from example:  Zurich to MIlan but decide to stop over at Como - will we lose our seat reservations? if we are on trains that dont require seat reservations and we dont book them, is there a place we can sit otherwise if the seats are full?your assistance is appreciated!family of 5 coming in from Australia to Europe!

Hi,I bought last year the Interrail Global pass during the sale in July. It says I need to activate it before 18 June 2025. Just to be sure: if I activate it for example on 17 June, than I will be able to use it after 18 June? Or should I use all the travel days before 18 June? Thanks!Greetings Bart

My answer to this is no, despite it being advertised in the Eurail planner. After a long flight from Australia, trying to activate our mobile pass for the first time, the train attendant tells us it isnt valid...because Heathrow Express isnt part of Network Rail (the UK rail consortium that combines all the tracks). Im aware of this, and I was happy that the Heathrow Express was listed as being part of the Eurail pass. But no, the ticket lady said it wasnt part of the pass and that they had tried to explain to Eurail many times that they werent involved in the scheme but they kept having travellers come up to them (like I did) showing them the Eurail Planner rules/inclusions and expecting to be able to use it. Can anyone else confirm if it really is part of the pass or if it isnt and Eurail are just false advertising?

I wanted to regarding the interail outbound and inbound rules, I have a friend who lives in sweden (GOT) and is planning to meet us in copenhagen. He plans to use the outbound journey to CPH and then headback to gothenburg without using inbound journey  and then continuing the travel days within sweden from gothenburg to sweden. Will there be a problem using a travel day within sweden if  he used an outbound journey? (Like does the app consider him being out an issue)

Folks, Can anyone recommend the best places to keep an eye on for diecounts on a pass purchase, promotions etc?  Any will do. 60+ even better ;) Just completed an exhilirating trek across Europe on the pretence of a job interview.  Packed my suit & heels but also hiking boots.   Can't wait until the next trip!Thank you most kindly.Karla

Hi - I’m looking for some advice on an upcoming trip to Germany (Sept/Oct) and while we’ve train traveled before, we’ve never done multiple trips like this and had reason to consider the value or ease of a pass vs. individual journey tickets. We’re 63 and 66 so one of us can always be a senior fare, sometimes both! We may upgrade to 1st class on some of these longer journeys, not sure yet.I’ve looked at the DB website for these prices and this is what I found without including seat reservation costs - all prices are tickets for two total and all are 2nd class:Frankfurt Airport->Munich Sparpreis 108€  Munich->Mengen Super Sparpreis 68€  Mengen->Boblingen Super Sparpreis 54€ Boblingen->Heidelberg Super Sparpreis 49€ Heidelberg->Darmstadt Super Sparpreis 35€ Frankfurt->Cologne Super Sparpreis 40€ Cologne->FRA airport 40€ (lowest fare, may change time of travel)I feel confident that once we choose the departure time, we can always commit so the Super Sparpreis is ok fo

I know how to find what trains I *can* take a bicycle on, but the ICE trains in particular require a bicycle reservation.  How do I book that? The bahn.de site says you can only book a bicycle reservation with a meatbody ticket, but my meatbody is getting on with the EURail pass.  I can buy a seat reservation on its own, but that isn’t helping me with a bike reservation.Where do I go from here?  Bike reservations are notoriously difficult on ICE trains, so this is a non-starter for me to “wing it”.

Hi, my phone recently broke while traveling. This means that my interrail pass cant be used on that device anymore. I already had contact with interrail and they unregistered my pass from my phone so i can add my pass on another device. My question is: is it possible to add my pass on my friends device so we have two passes on the same device? If this is not an option, does anyone have another suggestion?

HOW is a second pass added to a phone device?

Have a query on using bus for travelling short distances with the unlimited Global Eurail passes from the railway stations in Switzerland in general and in particular from Val-d'Illiez station to Village Champoussin... distance of 7 kilometers serviced by local Bus Route #81.  We are a family of four (2 adults + 2 children aged 8 & 10 years) and will be staying at Champoussin Ski Resort for about a week and will be frequenting the distance between Val-d'Illiez station and Champoussin village almost everyday for a week. I understand Bus travel is NOT included in our Eurail Global pass. So, requesting for information here on the Bus passes and if there is any discount on the Swiss Bus tickets with the Eurail Pass? Thanks in advance for all your help.

where is my confirmation of purchase email? It did not come. How can I reach Customer Service?

I am assuming the 15 per cent off passes sale finishes at 2359 hours European time on Tuesday 1 April 2025.When trying to purchase a paper pass, the purchase process won’t let me into ‘traveller details’ to complete all the steps to purchase. Is this because with the Australia-Netherlands time difference (0445 hours in the latter as I type), the site will only accept orders during normal business hours?

I am visiting Netherland and Germany in May. I have already purchased Global train pass. Can I activate with future date before I fly from my country of origin?

Regards to everyone,  i am evaluating to refound a pass, but it has been bought with lay-by payment. It is still  to pay the third part. How does it work in this case? Then i want to purchaise another pass upgraded but with discount, it is this possible? Thank to whose will answerRegards

Hi, I’m from Austria and planing to travel from Salzburg to Germany. If i remember correctly, there were some problems with the mobile pass and border station within the country of residence. Will i have problems with the mobile pass and choosing Salzburg as beginning station or is this problem already solved? (As a one country pass doesn’t include the home country)  Or is there any work around?

Hi!I would like to travel to the UK in May and want to take the Eurostar from Rotterdam to London. I can only see that the seat reservation can be made with my Interrail ticket, but what if I buy the ticket and all the trains are fully booked (since its a busier period). Is it possible to cancel my Interrail ticket in that case?Cheers!

Hi Eurail Community,I am a solo traveler, First time visiting Europe from Australia in April-May this year. I am looking for Eurail pass suggestion. This is my plan in short. Day 1 - Arrive in AmsterdamDay 6 - From Amsterdam - Day trip to RotterdamDay 7 - From Amsterdam - Day trip to HagueDay 8 - Amsterdam to BerlinDay 12 - Berlin to PragueDay 17 - Prague to BudapestDay 22 - Budapest to ViennaDay 27 - Vienna to SalzburgDay 28 - Day trip from Salzburg to HallstattDay 29 - Salzburg to InterlakenI think I will need swiss pass to travel in Switzerland.I will be taking flight from zurich to Amsterdam. Question - Which option would make more sense/better value for money?Flexi pass 7 day in 1 month, use Eurail pass for the most expensive train days & buy single ticket for remaining. Get continues pass for 22 or 30 days.  or is there any other better option ? My understanding is - local transportation in these cities would not be covered in continues pass.  Your feedback & suggestions a
