We have 3 month continuous Interrail passes. Once activated, can the 3 month period be deactivated or paused and restarted within the 1-year validity period?

There is no 1-year validity period. You have 11 months after purchase to activate your pass and set the start date of the validity period. Once that validity period has started, you can't pause it.

Would be great to add the option to pause the pass . For example I use the 4 day to do outbound and inbound from NL and due to railways not predictable , would be great to pause it if needed to for example travel back the month after instead. A 4 days non-contiguous travel could be very handy or for example with 2 months validity instead of 1 since activation
I don't think anyone uses the full 90 days of a 3-month pass. Personally, I only use 30 on average. With breaks between passes, I need 3 passes in a year for about 90 travel days (with a few short day trips).
With your suggestion, I would only need one pass and I could make the same journeys in 11 months. Do you think it would still be worthwhile for the railways?
