My friend and I would be thrilled at the opportunity to travel with an Interrail ticket.

Traveling by train is my favorite style of vacationing (or at least for getting to the destination) as I try to be more or less CO2 neutral. So ever since I`ve heard of the Arctic Circle Train, I fell in love with the Idea of taking it so much, that I was able to convince a friend to join me.

I have unfortunately never been to scandinavia (I only saw the border of denmark once...), so going there would be an eye opening experience for me. Growing up, reading Astrid Lindgren books was basically all I did ,so driving through the small towns and untouched nature of sweden, getting to know some locals (potentially new friends) and taking every little detail in, would be a dream come true. I have heard from other people, who took this train route, that they were able to see the northern lights. If we were to see those, we would actually flip out, as both of us have only ever seen them in videos or described in books.

As students we unfortunately fit the cliche of being permanently broke pretty well, so we wouldn't be able to afford it on our own. Winning the passes would make a trip we've wanted to do for a long time actually possible!

I’d love to use an Interrail trip to explore the Balkans. There are so many countries and cities in the region that I’ve wanted to visit for a long time, especially places that are a bit less touristy and where you can really experience the local culture.

What I’m looking forward to most is the freedom to travel from city to city, try different local foods, meet new people and make spontaneous stops in places I hadn’t originally planned to visit. I think that’s exactly what makes travelling by train so special — the journey itself becomes part of the experience.

Coming home with lots of new memories, unexpected stories and probably a much longer li

My friend and I would love to zigzag our way to Greece, visiting the island of Samothrace. We’re both huge classics fans and it would be our first time visiting Greece. I think we’d also really enjoy travelling on Europe’s sleeper trains. For stops along the way, I’d love to see Basel, Switzerland and get a chance to meet new people working our way down through the Balkans!

I'm off on my travels in two weeks, introducing a friend from the UK to train travel. Nothing new, you might say, except he is 84 years old. It's a bit more planned than most of my train travel has been, as I'm trying to avoid wearing him out prematurely. Plus, we are staying in hostels, which he has done, but not for 60 years. The route is from Osnabruck for him, where he is staying with friends, and Poitiers for me, meeting in Prague, then onwards to Budapest, where there will be a non negotiable visit to the railway museum and a trip on the children's railway. Then via Bucharest to Constanta, and into Moldova to drink wine. Back through Romania to Vienna where I am told I will be attending a concert.

Next  Verona and on to Switzerland for at least the Bernina route and Gotthard pass. Minimum! Ending in Chur for him, and probably home for me via Geneva and Lyon. There may be other side trips involving beer, trains, and music. How does that sound for an adventure? If he likes it seven days should get us a fair bit of Scandinavian rail next year.

The interrail experience I’m most looking forward to is not a certain destination. It’s a feeling of being on the way, a feeling of once again getting to escape every day life, the feeling of proudly showing the conductor my pass, a taste of freedom and adventure.

The dream Interrail experience I'm holding out for is the Alpine train to the Swiss lakeside: travelling through Germany, admiring the Tirol landscapes in Austria and then winding up at Lake Brienz in Switzerland. Can't wait to go hiking and capturing beautiful pictures with my significant other. ⛰️

The experience I am looking forward to the most is definitely getting to see the world with my loving partner. We spent the last few years busy with university and work and are both longing to see more of the world! We like to unwind and spend time just enjoying the moment - drinking coffee, hiking or biking and experiencing life slowly. I think interrail is the best way to travel for us - we could spend hours talking and looking out the window, traveling to places we have never been before. For us, Italy would probably be an ideal destination for hiking, swimming and enjoying tasty espresso. On the way there we could also explore some of Austria or maybe Germany :)

I’d love to travel through Europe by train with no rush and no strict itinerary — waking up in a new city, discovering local food, meeting people along the way and enjoying the journey as much as the destination. That’s my dream Interrail experience! 🚆✨

I never travelled that much on my own rather with my parents when I was younger. Now I made my Bachelor and want to visit some european countries. On my journey im looking forward to making new friends and have a challenge for myself. I would take my girlfriend as my travel buddy to make some unforgetable experiences with her. I would love to visit some football stadiums as I am a big football fan and love to see new grounds. Especially the San Siro in Milano would be a great visit as well as the Stade Velodrome in Marseille. Next to it, I would discover eastern europe as I never been there for a long time and think that in the colder months this part of europe might be cool. I would be so happy to win the tickets together with my girlfriend:) Still I wish everyone good luck and a spectacular journey!!

I’m looking forward to see Sweden in wintertime. We’re planning to go to Stockholm in the christmas-period, also called ‘Jul’. Also would we like to make a roundtrip through mid-Sweden.

The Interrail experience I’m most looking forward to is visiting Stockholm in its full Christmas atmosphere, watching Sweden’s snow-covered landscapes from the train, and hiking around in the crisp winter air.

I would be glad to visit Sweden again in springtime. It would be delightful to watch the beautiful nature in Germany, Denmark and Sweden from the train, and then discover all the beauty in Sweden in the green season.

Since my first time visiting the UK with my fianceé, I’ve been intrigued by how easy it is to travel to its neighbouring countries. Then we made a promise to visit more of Europe and take in sceneries via the railway. For us, it is not only the destination that matters, but also the experience on getting there.

We’d wanted to travel and be part of the crowd in experiencing everything a country has to offer!

Celebrating my 50th milestone with an Interrail pass is the ultimate way to blend slow-travel luxury, nostalgia, and authentic discovery across Europe's most captivating tracks. Turning my milestone birthday into a journey through a country I have yet to explore adds a deep sense of purpose, turning every train window view into a dynamic landscape of new memories.

I look to do an interrail travel to the north of Europe, to explore the cold countries of Europe and if I have lucky, see aurora borealis in a night train!

My friend and I would love to interrail through the Nordic countries. We enjoyed our time there last time and would be thrilled to experience it again. For us, the ultimate experience would be reconnecting with the peace of the North and hiking along the beautiful fjords.

Hello my name is Lili,

first of all I have to say I love traveling!!

Especially with my partner in crime my Boyfriend. I would love to go on a Europe tour with him. Because I know that we both would have so much fun. Meeting new people, tasting new food and just walking and wandering around new cities an places we never been to. Like a Romance adventure and the side dish is culture!!

I also think that an adventure like this brings one another much closer together. Yk just imagining that we are somewhere maybe also a crisis situation and figuring a plan out together. But I have to see he is the best at planning things so maybe we wouldn’t get in a crisis situation. Either way I know we could do anything together.
Another thing is that I love, love, love meeting new people and make new friends, who knows are maybe friends that stay for life. In general I am a very talkative person I can easily make friends. So I hope I win those tickets for us. That we be the greatest present of 2026.

so yeah peace out Lili

lots of love to Owen !! 💞💞

My friend and I would like to go back to Scandinavia, explore new fjords, views and hiking trails, see the Northern Lights one day and travel by night train 🚅

The interrail experience I’m looking forward to the most is seeing Europe with my mum! I’m 23 and I have been to Portugal, France, Turkey, and Denmark but my mum (who is 53) has only been to France and Turkey. I’m excited to show her everything Europe has to offer from the northern lights to the Spanish Riviera. She keeps sending  me videos of trains through the alps and I would love to surprise her with this experience.

Hi, my name is Iris. This year has been very special to me. I obtained my bachelor's degree in nature management and environmental law. Not only did I manage to graduate, but I also got a job a month later. If there is anything I learned in my studies, is that our environment is very fragile, but more importantly, is something we have to work and fight together to preserve. A few years ago, I learned about Interrail and I couldn't be happier that I could take the train to go on holiday in different countries instead of an airplane. I would use the tickets of Interrail to celebrate that I achieved my goals this year. I want to explore interesting countries in Europe where I've never been before, together with my boyfriend. Countries that are on our list include Norway with its incredible fjords and Finland with its beautifull forests. Me and my boyfriend would be very thankful for this chance of unraveling unknown countries to us and to celebrate our two years together.

The experience I’m looking forward to the most is to revisit Norway with its astonishing natural beauty. After an enchanting first visit to the southeastern part of the country, I would love to take this chance to explore more of the country. I look forward to visiting the impressive mountains and fjords, encountering the wildlife (I’ve always wanted to spot a large male elk!), and taking in the culture. Perhaps with this Interrail pass, I’ll be able to make this dream come true!

What I’m most looking forward to is the freedom to explore Europe without having every detail planned in advance — waking up in one city, taking a train somewhere new, and enjoying the journey itself as part of the adventure. I’d especially love to discover a mix of beautiful landscapes, smaller towns, and places I might never think to visit on a typical trip.

Thank you to everyone who entered our giveaway and shared your travel dreams with us.

It was lovely to see that for many of you, the Interrail journey is about more than getting from one place to another. It’s about the experiences along the way, like experiencing Danish hygge and Swedish fika, taking little detours along the Danube, or staying up late to see the Northern Lights.

A few comments made us laugh too, including this one:

“I already have one important mission: sending my mum a trashy postcard from every city we visit, because her fridge still has way too much empty space.”

And now, the winners are:

@Sahbahnan

@Vivivi

@Svenjo

@Ruben_B

@Amálie Poštová

Congratulations to the five winners, and thank you again to everyone who took part. We hope your next journey brings plenty of those little experiences that make travelling by train so memorable.
